Recently many shows have come under fire for killing off their lesbian character(s) without a significant reason.

Buzzfeed created this video to show that LGBTQ+ people deserve to have more media representation- excuse me, QUALITY media representation- especially in the movies and not just as the token gay friend or back ground characters. Surprisingly *sarcasm* LGBTQ+ people do not have to be the token gay friend, the back ground characters, killed off, etc. We can have lead roles, stable and healthy relationships, and even make the movie better because diversity adds spice to life.

Another celebrity is loudly and proudly saying they won’t support discrimination.

Musician Bryan Adams had a concert scheduled for this week in Mississippi, but he canceled it, explaining that he won’t perform somewhere where LGBT people’s basic human rights are being denied. 

The singer says he can’t “in good conscience” perform in a state where “certain people are being denied their civil rights due to their sexual orientation.”

The move comes after Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band canceled a Sunday show in Greensboro, North Carolina, because of the state’s new law blocking anti-discrimination rules for the LGBT community.

The Mississippi law will take effect July 1. Supporters say it offers protection for Christians who adhere to traditional views of marriage and gender roles.

Booyah. This is going to happen over and over and over until legislators in Mississippi and North Carolina (and whatever state comes next) realize their ignorance. How much money will your state have to lose before you wake up?
