do you ever just think about Jesus living here on earth 
i think sometimes we tend to think He just bounced from one miracle to another and everyday was a Bible story but His ministry lasted for three years and the Gospels don’t actually cover that much so
imagine all those ordinary days?? 
He probably had favorite foods and morning routines and sore dirty feet from walking while sweat ran in His eyes in the hot Judean sun and He got blisters and hiccups and colds and maybe He snored 
all the times He laughed till He cried and i bet He had inside jokes with His disciples. imagine having an inside joke with the person who gives you breath to laugh in the first place 
and He had human skills He knew how to build a house and cook and wash his clothes and read 
passing food at the dinner table and bumping hands with Jesus 
talking about silly inconsequential things like the weather 
maybe some nights John was sleepy and he leaned against Jesus and could hear His heartbeat 
maybe some nights a disciple had insomnia and he climbed out of his bedroll to find Jesus sitting against a rock, looking up at heaven, and they sat and watched the stars together 
(the God of the universe looking up through short-sighted eyes at His creation, and the disciple wants so badly to ask what it was like to shape each star, but he looks at those calloused human hands and something in him trembles) 
do you ever think that the ordinary days so far outnumbered the miraculous ones that the disciples, sometimes, almost forgot
and then He goes and turns water into wine and feeds five thousand people from a kid’s lunch and brings dead Lazarus walking alive out of the tomb and they just kind of lose their breath
not because they didn’t expect deity to accomplish the impossible but because this God has been living with them
it’s not the miracles that are unthinkable

Finding the motive of heart in a time of rest…
Hey Y’all! 
Well it’s been what, like a year since I’ve updated this blog and try to make a brand for myself as this passionate, wonder-lust, #liveauthentic, missions travel blogger that updates the world on all of my serendipitous, instagram worthy adventures across the world, and in our United States..
WELL SHOOT ME IN THE FOOT Y’ALL! IT’S SAFE TO SAY THAT THIS SEASON OF LIFE  IS FAR FROM WHAT I WAS TRYING ACHIEVE I’LL TELL YOU WHAT! 
And rightfully so. I mean, I’m not gonna front as if there aren’t  days where I see my bank account and say to myself, “well damn,this is enough for a one way ticket to [Insert destination here].” I’ve seen this trend now for the past several years begin to be unraveled and called to light in my life and the lives of other socially conscious Christian kids that felt “the call” to the missions field. The idea of simply going to serve on missions and humanitarian fronts for the sake of fulfilling some sort of intrinsic guilt, idolizing the zeal and “good vibes” of  traveling from one destination to the next, or serving in missions and humanitarian work as a coping mechanism to not deal with your own suppressed problems that you aren’t willing to deal with because you occupy yourself through adopting a western messiah complex. all of these complexes involve putting yourself in the thick of trying to absolve a certain disenfranchised people groups problem for however long you find yourself there with them…On the outside they seem…”harmless”, yet the motivation of each of these when looked at from a biblical and cultural lens, the heart of the motivation lacks true God glorifying substance despite the heavy “Christian” implications that these motivators can bring, and thus ultimately be misinterpreted as so.I’m not saying that God cannot move in these situations nor be glorified…but the futile, capitalist driven sense of fulfilment that many faith leaders who work heavily in the realm of humanitarian work seek to achieve, can lead us with an immense feeling of burnout, and I would even go as far to say despair…
Throughout my early parts of my young adulthood, I’ve found myself as all three of these church kid stereotypes. Especially the later one.  Being removed from that (by God’s grace and through my own volition) put me in this strange, albeit, needed transition period of being out of college (kind off), finding my true Identity in Christ objectively as well as outside of the major spheres of Christian cultural influence, getting time to rest, heal & learn what healthy spiritual solitude looks like in action, getting therapy for my mental health (yes you read that right), and gain the privilege to be a missionary in my own household by seeing God bring forth much needed restoration in some familial relationships that haven’t been given the time to be properly aired out. All of that has been a pivotal part of my sanctification, as Abba Father has been showing me through the wisdom of the Holy Spirit that, the same Gospel that I spoke into the lives of others so that they may be able to find peace in their mundane, and their trials, was something that I needed to adopt and embrace for my own spiritual and mental wellbeing. 
For those who have been active in any form of missional work or ministry for that matter, this narrative isn’t uncommon. Despite this, I feel it’s  a narrative that  I can say with discernment from my own experiences, one that many of us refuse to fully embrace until we reach our breaking points. Nonetheless, this period of stepping back, and actually processing how the Lord has used me to actively be “salt” and “light” in the lives of so many people I’ve come in contact with in the areas of work I’ve been active in, has proven to be a refreshing and refining one. From the loving on the hood of Miami (aka. The Homeland), to the slums of Haiti. Prayer walking through busy streets of Tokyo the massive Skyscrapers in NYC, and the history filled and policy stained neighborhoods of DC, God has sent me as a willing servant to be a part of His great commission…and I know for a fact that He’ll probably be sending me back to literally “God knows where” soon…(I’ll elaborate on that in another post). 
As the Apostle Paul wrote in his God Inspired letter to the church in Philippi, “I have found the secret of being content [happy] in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Phil 4:12-13) 
Christ in me, my strength, and hope of glory. In all seasons of life. And I especially feel it to be true in this time rest, refinement, and reflection in this phase of my twenty something life.
