I never noticed until now how when TK turns away from Gwyn in the airport scene, he wipes away a tear. Obviously we see him crying as he's talking to her but I never noticed the way he wipes at another year as he's walking away from her. He must have been so scared

He’s so, so scared. The hardest part about that first step to recovery is that addiction is such a thing of totality that it bleeds into every aspect of your whole being and you have no idea who you are without it. What if you end up worse off? What if people only like you when you’re drunk/high and your real personality isn’t likeable? What if the reason you don’t want to stop is because using is the only way you can experience even momentary joy and what if without the substance you’ll be left with only the pain? What you’re not strong enough to face the things this habit is masking? What if you strip yourself of this one lifeline you have left and end up drowning with nothing to keep you afloat? He just wants so much to cling to someone who loves him even with all his flaws, because he doesn’t love himself and he doesn’t know who he’s going to be anymore after he loses such a big part of himself. Addiction is your house burning down, and getting clean is putting out that fire. Which is a good thing, except for the fact that you still don’t have a house. The rebuilding afterwards phase is the hardest part. He knows what he’s facing and he’s so scared and I want to hold him so badly.

Hey Lemon!! Thanks so much for the nice ass(k) - my favorite kind.

I started watching 911 Lone Star in December 2021/Jan 2022, and caught up just in time for The Ice Storm arc, aka Tarlos Angst season. Per usual, leading up, I had my ever hopeful but incorrect take that they wouldn’t be broken up at the start of season 3. I was, of course, wildly incorrect but you know…highly invested.

The angst threw me into the deep end of fandom and I started writing getting back together fics after 3.01, and that was it. I was here.

Hopes for season 5? One thing? Twist my arm, Lemon. One thing is so hard.

Do you know what I would give for Gabriel Reyes to be alive? A whole hell of a lot. Like, we won’t get it so I’ll give you a real hope at the end. But I would give anything for his death to be tied to a case and him being in protection and they told the family he was dead. I’m still so angry they killed him (see me and my naïve hopes). I really feel there was so much more for Carlos and Gabriel to unpack in their relationship.

But for reals, I am really hoping for Tarlos to explore being married and leaning even deeper into their relationship as a source of strength. They came so far with communication in season 4 and I want more.

Also, a real love story for Paul. I loved Aisha, and could have more of her. But like, Paul.
