honestly personally I like to compromise and say my character has lots of experience with things that are not their class

my current warlock knows a lot about the physics of magic. studied it theoretically without being a magic caster and taught it for almost twenty years! can’t cast a spell more powerful than a cantrip without breaking a sweat, though.

theres something very funny about people writing these rich and detailed backstories for dnd characters as if the characters aren’t gonna still be level 1 when they start 

“my elf has been alive for a thousand years and has won ten thousand battles!!!” you’re still level 1 aint ya i guess you those ten thousand battles you won werent all that hard to win

This is Envy. She’s a Tiefling who used to be a thief until she tried to steal a beautiful ivory dagger embedded with rubies that happened to be a link to a powerful demon with a lust for blood. Now she’s a warlock.

honestly something that still haunts me is this time I bought a 250g sword (not much for some people but for me a lot) and i realized it didnt fit my dragon as well as another sword, so i found someone on the AH and sent them a message like “hey would you accept a valkyrie blade as payment for your ancient broadsword? you can see i’ve got it because its equipped on this dragon rn” (another 250g sword)

and instead of using the crossroads, yknow, the system the game has set up so that trades are safe, they just reply to my message with THEIR SWORD ATTACHED, and TRUST me to send mine back

like, on a site thats rly rife with scammers... why? i didnt scam them and sent my sword asap but. jesus.
