“Right. The one I normally play is louder and the notes are well…. sharper? It’s hard… to word….” He looked down and pulled the hood over his face a bit. He wasn’t used to talking to others (especially girls) for this long without screwing up somehow (or the others screwing up). 

Ayesul noticed the manner in which Mangu adjusted his hood, and she took a quick look upwards. She didn’t think it was overly bright, but perhaps the man’s eyes were just sensitive; or perhaps he was somewhat shy? The way he cast his eyes downwards was a tad reminiscent. “It’s fine if wording it is hard,” she replied encouragingly. “I don’t understand music all too much, but I think I can relate.” Ayesul drew her wooden sword and held it in both palms, revealing it to Mangu. “Even though this is what I currently have, the sword I had before this was sharper. This wooden sword is rather blunt, but it still gets the job done. Is that a fair comparison to your current guitar and your previous?”

“Yeah. Here…. let me show you.” He said, before he started strumming. His hands worked skillfully, even if the guitar wasn’t his usual type. “See? This is the music I make.”

Ayesul’s eyes watched his hands strum, while her ears listened carefully to the notes. This guitar was rather intriguing; she had come across string instruments before, but nothing that ever sounded like this. “The music sounds quite nice. You said this isn’t the normal guitar you play though?”

    Maria had taken a break from exploring to try to figure out this strange little device she’d been given when she got here. It was…confusing. Her grandfather had spoken of these phones that were in development, ones that were portable and didn’t even need a cord attached to them, but this seemed far more than what he was talking about. It seemed like, if she were to make a wrong move, it could break in her hands! Plus, she couldn’t even figure out how to use it; what was she supposed to do?

    Though, with a glance as she heard someone speak, someone else clearly wasn’t having much more luck. The device in the other’s hand looked similar to her’s, didn’t it?

    “Are you having trouble too…?“

Hearing soft spoken words, Ayesul turned her attention towards the girl who spoke them. The Valkyrie gave a embarrassed, but lighthearted chuckle once she realized someone had noticed her having difficulties with this device. Judging from the girl’s words, however, Ayesul figured she was also struggling to understand how it worked. “Yes, I’d say I am. What of you? If you are also struggling, perhaps we can figure out how it works together?” Ayesul offered with a kind smile.

“I’m a performer.” He said, moving his guitar from his back to his hands. “Though this isn’t the normal kind of guitar I play.” He sighed. “I’m part of a band….” 

Hearing Mangu’s sigh, Ayesul gave a wide, encouraging grin. “You don’t sound too enthused. Being a performer is a great thing,” she said before pointing to his guitar. “I understood the terms ‘performer’ and ‘band,’ but I’ve never heard of a guitar. Is that what that is?”

“A Valkyrie?” He tilted his head. He’d heard of them but he never thought he’d see one. “Mangu. Demon Mangu. Just call me Mangu though.” He said, extending a grey hand. “I guess you’re the walking model for one huh?”

“Well met, Mangu,” Ayesul replied as she reached for his hand to shake it. Once she released it, she gave a light laugh. She had to admit, the man’s comment was rather flattering. “I hope that will be the case one day, but I’m far from it as of right now. What of you, Mangu? What is it that you do?”

Mangu stared at the other, his eyes widening a bit. He’d never seen anyone with that bright of hair before. At least not that he remembered. “….Your hair… it’s pretty.” Smooth going there, Mangu.

The man’s compliment brought a wide grin to Ayesul’s face. “Thank you, I’m glad you think so. Where I am from, red hair is customary for a Valkyrie, so I’m fortunate to have been born with it,” she explained before deciding to introduce herself. “I’m Ayesul, pleasure to meet you.”

✯ Luck has truly smiled upon her! To think that she’d be designated for the best ward of all! Not that the other wards don’t have cool things on them, but it’s not everywhere that she can find the best in fashion right alongside the best in culinary.

✯ And she couldn’t see this new array of food content in front of her and not finally sate her craving for a delicious burger! Well, not just a burger. She got at least two of those, plus big sized fries and soda, and she still intends to buy some ice cream once she’s done. Now this is what she calls living!

✯ “Burgers, burgers! You should go to a burger place!” In fact, she feels so hyped by the consumption of her favorite food that she feels like screaming at a random person so they’ll get to it too. “You haven’t lived yet if you haven’t eaten burgers!”

The voice of another woman caught the Valkyrie’s attention, and Ayesul turned her gaze towards her. The recommendation of burgers was an interesting one. There was only one type of burger she was familiar with from her own world, but it was a delicacy she never had the opportunity of trying.

“I’ve never had burgers actually, so I’m not opposed to trying one,” the Valkyrie said with a smile. “This is my first time here though, so I don’t know where to go or what to look for.”

After accepting the fact that this city of spirals was where she would now live, Ayesul began exploring other wards in the city as well. The culture shock hadn’t entirely receded, but the Valkyrie figured she would learn to cope with it. For now, she figured the best thing to do would be to locate essential locations such as where to acquire food. She wanted to avoid exploring more of the ward she was situated in, for the time being at least. She found the Fibonacci Ward a bit too much for her to take in currently, so her exploration led her to the Golden Ward.

Judging from its appearance, the Golden Ward seemed much less overwhelming and more enjoyable. The streets seemed to be bustling, and the district seemed to be quite lively. Once she began walking the streets, Ayesul smelled pleasant aromas wafting from a particular direction. Figuring the scents would lead her to a restaurant, the Valkyrie followed her sense of smell until she reached Gourmet Boulevard. “It seems this is where all the restaurants are. Which one should I go to though?” She wondered aloud.

Though she had finally found her house after several hours of wandering the Fibonacci ward, Ayesul still found herself overwhelmed by the grandeur of the city, as well as how different the district was from what she was familiar with. The Valkyrie was wandering the streets of the cyberpunk ward, trying to familiarize herself with the area. Wandering only made her more confused. The fact that all she had was this strange contraption didn’t help her cause much either. Ayesul attempted to keep calm. If she was brought to this strange city, then perhaps it was a part of her fate. If that were the case, her deity, Elion, would expect her to overcome these challenges with an enthusiastic mindset. Of course, she was sure Elion wouldn’t mind a complaint every now and then either.

Raising the cellphone she was given, Ayesul attempted to tinker with it, but to no avail. “How do you use this thing?” She whined.

Ayesul had recently arrived to this city known as Spirale, and she had already received her housing information. She was assigned a house in the Fibonacci Ward. On her way there, however, she found herself dazzled and distracted by the many turning gears of the district. Watching the gears turn against each other, she was curious what sort of contraption this might be... So she thought to test it by reaching out towards it with a finger.

Hello hello, I am Amitrajit or Jeet if that’s easier. I’m a 22 year old guy who enjoys writing and gaming. Some games I enjoy are Black Desert Online (save me I can’t escape it), Destiny 2 as of late, Rainbow Six Siege, and a handful of other MMOs & round based games. I’ve RPed on other platforms before, such as forums, but this will be my first time using Tumblr. I’ll try to get familiarized with the way Tumblr works, but patience would be appreciated.
