How to GET to HUAHIN from here?

1. By Taxi 2. By Train 3. By Minivan

II-- By Train --II   Time: 2.5 - 3 hrs

1) Take a Tuk-Tuk to Pak Tor Railway Station which is the nearest station from my province and the nearest to Huahin

My house - Pak Tor Station by Tuk-Tuk ~ 250-300 THB

2) Take train from Pak Tor Railway Station to Huahin Railway Station

I suggest Train No. 255 and 261, they stop only 9-10 stations. So it may take a shorter time than others. ~ 20 THB/person

Remarks: Thai Railway is a delay, you cannot avoid

II-- By Van or Minivan --II   Time: 2 - 2.5 Hrs

The minivan from Bangkok that goes to Huahin has to pass my province. So you can wait for the minivan which comes from Bangkok in my province at a drop point for going to Huahin.

There are many minivans to many places in the south of Thailand, so be careful when you see the van. You have to ask the driver which minivan goes to HUAHIN. Not all minivan which passes this drop point to go to HUAHIN.

1)  Take a Tuk-Tuk to the drop point ~120 THB. Sitting and waiting for the minivan, they will arrive every 30 minutes. 

2) Confirm and Take the van ~ 180-200 THB/person.

Remark: While you wait for the minivan, the driver who wears the blue shirt will come to ask you. You answer that "HUAHIN."  And you have to get confirmation from him. If he doesn't, don't take that van, he may go to other places. Wait for the next minivan.

How to GET to Samutsongkhram from HUAHIN?

1. By Taxi 2. By Train 3. By Minivan

II-- By Train --II   Time: 2.5 - 3 hrs

1) Go to Huahin Railway Station to Pak Tor Railway Station which is the nearest station from my province and the nearest to Huahin. The Price is around 20 THB/person

2) Take a Tuk-Tuk or Taxi from Pak Tor Railway Station to my house.

I am not sure how much the price you will be charged, and Tuk-Tuk and Taxi around Pak Tor Railway are not easy to find.  At last, if you cannot find, you can contact me to call Tuk-Tuk from here to pick-up you there.

II-- By Van or Minivan --II   Time: 2 - 2.5 Hrs

The minivan from Huahin that goes to Bangkok has to pass my province. You can go to the station at Soi Huahin 51.

1) Take the van to go to Bangkok, tell the staff that you will come "Maeklong". (My province' Nickname) ~ 180-200 THB/person.

2) The van will send you the Drop point which is under the Bridge.

You have 2 way: Walking to Downtown to see Maeklong railway market or Take a Tuk-Tuk

[ Walking ] Please turn around back, and find the TESCO LOTUS Supermarket (you will notice the Billboard) as the picture. When you see TESCO LOTUS, please go along the road, you will see a small police booth. This is the market area, you can ask the local people which way to go to see the train.

[ Tuk-Tuk ]  Take a Tuk-Tuk and let him read the Thai word I send you. He will know where you to go. ~120 THB.

SEEING THE FIREFLIES or LIGHTNING BUG

It is quite a rare experience to see the fireflies since there is a seldom chance to see a firefly in a city. Although I had seen many fireflies in my house area when I was young, it can seldom be seen in the fireflies in the present. The fireflies sleep under the tree “Sonneratia caseolaris”, commonly known as mangrove apple, they will come out to feed on the night.

Amphawa area still has many mangrove apple trees. The tourists can see the fireflies all year, but the season of the fireflies is October - December. (After rainy season) October to December time, you can see more fireflies than other months.

Normally, the tourists will see the fireflies in the evening boat ride which can buy the ticket at the dock in Amphawa floating market. The ticket price is around 60 THB/ person, it is a long-tail boat that fits 10-20 persons. The boat tour is about 1-2 hrs for fireflies, there will be numerous stops and stops over again. The firefly cruising starts around 5 or 6 PM at the dock. I suggest buying the ticket when you arrive at the market, then you take the time to enjoy eating and see the whole market.

If you would like the special and convenience for traveling, I can provide the boat ride which you can take in front of the house to go Amphawa and see the fireflies. Please be note: This is the charter boat => 800 THB. You will get the private and see the local life at riverside during to go Amphawa floating market. You can plan your time to walk around the market and see the fireflies with the driver directly.

Another place that I would like to suggest you see the fireflies. It is the new place that there are some tourists know. The new restaurant “Jetarot Garden & Cafe”  the owner loves trees and has a lot of kinds of trees (around 200 species). This restaurant has many mangrove apple trees, so the customers can see the fireflies in the night after finishing dinner.  Of course, you should have dinner here.

Here, you will not be able to find Superrich exchange or many money changers like Bangkok, even if we near Bangkok. You have 2 choices if you need to exchange money. 

Foreign exchange service providers are the Banks in the above picture. Make sure that your passport is there with you whenever you show up at a money changer. It is legally required

Get Thai money by your Credit Card (Visa, Master Card) at ATM.

Some banks cannot accept the old banknote or fold money.

Best time to go at 6.00 pm. If you have the plan to take an afternoon program boat ride (5 Temples), please go 1-2 pm.

There the boat ride program in the afternoon and evening which is different.

If Thailand Long holiday, 1.00 pm must arrive on the market. The traffic is very bad.

See the firefly, the best time is 6.30 - 7.00 pm (it is the join boat, not private).

Go early, book the ticket to see the firefly, walk around, and have dinner. Then to see the firefly.

II-- By Train --II

If you have enough time, I suggest coming to my province by train at Wongwianyai. It spends time more than the car, but you will get a different experience. 

Please be careful that you must arrive at the station as soon as possible. If you can arrive in time you will see the Market close the umbrella and open the umbrella on the train. After that getting off the train and wait for 30 minutes to see the market again when departing from the station. You will get a different view. If you choose this way, you have to carefully plan your trip. Total time from Bangkok to Maeklong 3 hrs. 

How to go? From Wongwianyai station to Mahachai station, then cross the river by boat to change the line. Take Baan Laem station to Meaklong Station.

II-- By Minivan & Van --II

If you are not available to come by train. You can get on the Van to "Maeklong" or "Samutsongkhram" (Same city) at Bangkok Bus terminal which has 3 stations:

1) Northern: Go to Mochit Bus Terminal (You can go by getting off BTS Mochit and take taxi 2 km around 60 BAHT)

2) Eastern: Go to BTS Ekamai (you can go to BTS Ekamai, get off the train and walk around 100 meters to the station.) It is very easy.

3) Southern: go to Talingchan (It is very far, I think it is not convenient to go. But if you are Emerald Buddha Temple area, this terminal is the nearest)

4) Bangna: This is suitable for foreigners who live in Thailand and have lived for many years in Bangna area or nearby.  This is not the official Bus terminal, it is only a small station which parks under the expressway. The BTS Bangna station is near this minivan station, walk around 150 meters from BTS Bangna Station.

Remark: please check again the last destination in Bangkok where you are.

There are 4 ways to go.

1) #FAST, EASIEST & MOST EXPENSIVE 

By TAXI /GRAB TAXI: (Spend 1.5-2 hrs) Set the GPS location which is provided after getting the booking or contact me to ask the GPS.  (Service Time: 24 hours)

2) #QUITE FAST, NOT COMPLICATE & FAIR PRICE 

By BUS or MINIVAN: (Spend 1.5-2 hrs) Can get on the Bus and the Van at the station: Northern Bangkok Bus Terminal (Mochit), Southern Bangkok Bus Terminal (Sai Tai), Eastern Bangkok Bus Terminal (BTS Ekamai). (Service Time: 5 am-8 pm)

3) #MOST CONVENIENT 

By CAR (Drive by yourself) - Take Highway number 35 (Thonburi–Pak Tho or Rama II Rd), past the Na Kluea–Maha Chai intersection. At around km 63rd, there is the interchange road into the town. Alternatively, set the GPS location which is provided after getting the booking or contact me to ask the GPS. (Service Time: at the Airport)

4) #GET DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE, CHEAPEST & SLOWEST 

By TRAIN -Take a train from Wongwian Yai station to Maha Chai station. Then take a boat for crossing the river to another railway station which is Baan Laem railway station for going to Maeklong railway station. (Service Time: 6 am-3 pm check schedule again)
