"let's not be ableist!", "every mental illness should be respected" and "using slurs, especially ones that based on illnesses is wrong!" people after they call every abusive and evil person they met "narcissist", "psychopath" and "sociopath":😂👍

Kris’s Sadness, Fantoche. Their greatest fear, never being free of control. It looking exactly like The Vessel.

The object he’s made from is the coin. Of course.
It is tempting to say that Loop would be the Darkner but it is Siffrin who would be the Darkner. Wholly unaware of that fact

The King makes a dark fountain modeled after the perfect Vaugarde and drags everyone else in Dormont in . Siffrin secretly kinda doesn’t want to close it. Then he finds out he’s a Darkner in act 4 and he REALLY doesn’t want to close it
It is tempting to say that Loop would be the Darkner but it is Siffrin who would be the Darkner. Wholly unaware of that fact
#the titan spawn start showing up bc there’s too much damn. darkness everywhere that’s who they mostly have to fight#soliloquy#instead of the sadness there’s a whole lot of bump in the night

And the frustration that it makes some people feel to think the first quote is why the popular narrative of “Kris might feel awful about us controlling them but I never asked to control Kris, I wanted to control the vessel! The Player is innocent and did no wrong! We’re just stuck together through fate with the same helplessness. Surely if Kris just found this out, they would feel sympathetic for us and we could work together.” Has sprung up in the Deltarune community.
Hey. You (a person in the real world) do not need to control Kris (a fictional character) to survive/progress your life. You are not a fictional character. You chose to play Deltarune. In the narrative of Deltarune (a fictional world) Kris is (understandably) extremely upset about being controlled (in the fictional narrative). The Player (a real person in the real world) is not helpless and forced to control Kris. You are choosing purposefully to control Kris because you want to see more of this fictional story. In Kris’ story, the Player is a negative force. They are being harmed by this control (in the fictional narrative of Deltarune). You (a real person in the real world) do not have to feel defensive about other people in the real world pointing out that in the fictional narrative of Deltarune, the Player is doing something morally bad, because the Player (in the real world) is engaging with fictional media and is therefore not being called a morally bad person in the real world. I really don’t get how this is so hard to understand and why so many people are so defensive about this. It’s okay for the Player (as a construct) to be hated, resented, a negative force.
“Game maker is trying to imply through the fictional narrative of this game that I’m a morally bad person for engaging with a fictional world! I paid them money to get yelled at for engaging with something they made?” No, game maker (a real person in the real world) is trying to communicate a story/message through a medium of fiction to you (a real person in the real world) by using metacommentary in a video game (a medium specifically known for storytelling with player interaction). Reality comes free with your fucking fiction, that’s how making art works.

"Game maker wants you to feel bad for playing the game" well sure. Only because feeling bad can also be fun and interesting. Book and movie also make me feel bad emotions
#this is how I feel about deltarune#it’s a game with a metacommentary. it’s ok that Kris hates you controlling them. you don’t have to justify it. it’s ok to be disliked.
