“A PARTY FOR TARZAN”   designs (part 3)

My last design post for this wonderful episode has lots of Docs in various stages of Morpho dress, some Billy redress too, as well as the one, the only… Christopher Lambert. *I know we never get a clear look at his face in the episode, but I gave him the full design treatment anyway… just in case… And also, I mean, how could I resist that design challenge?

“The Venture Bros. & the Curse of the Haunted Problem“ designs (part 1)

Well it’s been a long time in the making (actually not that long by Venture standards), but the latest season of The Venture Bros. is finally up and running! Aaaaaaand I’m way behind on my season 7 design posts, so I’m going to be playing catch up this week- starting tonight and continuing throughout the week I will post all of my designs from the first three episodes of this new season.

I’m splitting this first episode up into two separate posts- so keep an eye out for “part 2″ tomorrow night… The other two design posts will follow in the days after!

“TANKS FOR NUTHIN’”   designs (part 2)

… A few more designs I managed to dig up for this episode! Battleaxe has very different hair in her rough compared to her final. *Sorry. Couldn’t find an updated rough, but this kind of revision is totally normal and happens all the time. The Jägermeister guy, while not important to the story at all, was a lot of fun to design… And lastly here’s post-coital Brock in khakis, and polo shirt.

“IT HAPPENING ONE NIGHT’”   designs (part 1)

Oh my god… Where to start. This was one of my all-time favorite Venture Bros. episodes, and I’m glad you all finally got a chance to watch it. I hope you liked it! I’ve got a lot to post for this one; more than usual. It’ll probably take about three posts. Let’s start things off with some Doom Factory people!

Season 6 of The Venture Brothers is off and going. So psyched to have been a Background designer on this season. There’s some top shelf artists who helped really create this world. I couldn’t be more honored to have worked with everyone involved with the design and color process.

The last two!  What would a Venture Bros spread be without Doc Venture being attacked by a Johnny Quest walking-eye? 

This was the most difficult of the four to design because it had a lot of action but I had to steer clear of the gutter (where the pages are stapled in the middle).  I haven’t seen it in print yet but hopefully it worked out okay compositionally.

And of course, Brock Samson.  Once again, another group of henchmen I made up, who are somewhere between the Rocketeer and the colors of Hank’s 60’s style Batman costume.  

Working on these was a lot of fun and a great deviation from the normal editorial assignments I get.  Big thanks to Duke Aber and Paul Byk over at Turner!
