Four don’ts of Music Business

Music industry is always on the rise with every passing day. Studies have shown that music is extremely good for your mental health. Researchers from McGill University, Canada in 2011 revealed that listening music tends to increase the production of Dopamine which is a chemical for enhancing mood and hence can treat depression. Medical science today is suggesting that musical therapy must be widely used for health care treatments. So with the increase in music popularity, the related musical industry is also growing fast. Musical instruments are getting advanced like various forms of electric guitars (i.e epiphone les paul special 2), pianos, drums, violins, clarinets, flutes, harps etc. and etc. If you also plan to enter in this field, below are the 4 don’ts you should take care of:
1) If you want to make it into this business, never take advice from those who have not been successful in this field and have failed. This is very important. While you are entering in music business and industry, try to be positive and take advice from those who have made it through. Those who have not been able to make it through may have certain disadvantages in their lives which you might not have. Such failed artists must have developed negative aspects about this business and will not be able to give you neutral input. On the contrary, if you meet successful people in this industry, they will show you the brighter side of the picture and can give you some very important basic tips that can help you a long way. Getting advice from someone who himself has failed in doing the same thing is totally foolish.
2) Most of the artists ‘try to be safe‘ and take this opportunity of music business as part time. Believe you me this is the worst mistake they make. This not only is true specifically for music but for every business that if you take it as part time, there is every likelyhood that you will fail. When you start as part time, you pay half the attention which is actually required and you make half the efforts which will not give you the desired results. Get into this business with full concentration and make all out efforts to make it successful and believe you me you will be successful.
3) Do not try to re-invent the wheel. There must be tried and tested practices of this business and you need to follow these under the supervision of some experts of this field. Never try to do all things on your own because you are very new to this. Take tips, advice and be in constant consultation of some successful gurus of this industry.
4) Do not rely solely on your education and degrees. Practical situation is very different. Like i said above that be in touch with people who have gone through all this and have finally been successful. Some new comers to this field are well qualified and have related musical degrees and think that they are the best. Of course they have edge over the others but they lack actual practical experience. So think that this is a world beyond degrees where you need other things also to succeed.

4 Things to be taken care of for your Child’s Musical Begining
Playing and learning music is not only a source of pleasure and fun for your children but also a solid foundation for their mental and physical development. Playing music has certain positive effects on human mind. A group of researchers from Neuropsychology (McGill University, Canada) has conducted a recent study which was published in the Journal ‘Cerebral Cortex‘ which has proved that if you play music all your life, it improves the connection between your hearing area and your motor area.
Not only this, musical instruments are a great source to teach your child a sense of discipline, improves mind concentration, decreases stress, teaches time management, improves his or her team and group skills, sharpens memory, improves child’s creativity, boosts self confidence, increases coordination ability, teaches him how to get socialized and much more. So one thing is clear that your child must play and learn musical instruments for mind and body development. Not only these physical developments, the best contribution made is the development of overall personality of your children by incorporating the attributes just mentioned above. Now this article is going to give you 4 tips which need to be followed to make sure that your child starts right because if he starts right, he will go a long way to get the real benefits. These are:
1) Children are normally crazy about their buying. Whenever they go out to buy something, they see its physical appearance and glitter. Here this is not the case. Do not let your child buy a musical instrument which is too costly and too complex to play. Your child will immediately loose interest when he finds it difficult to play and your money shall go wasted. For example if you are going to get your child a guitar, buy a simple one and do not let him run after expensive and glittering electric guitar. Try to get him the instrument which is not costly and which is relatively simple to play so that your child can carry it for quite a few time before he or she puts it in dustbin.
2) Next important thing is that buy musical instrument which is not too big for your child and if it is to be played with hands, it matches his palm and hand size. Sometimes you end up buying a big instrument for him and he cannot play it properly and gets frustrated.
3) Get him a good teacher. Teacher sets foundation of your child. You should always try to have a teacher with minimum qualification set for the purpose. For example, a music teacher must have atleast bachelor’s degree for him to quality as a good teacher. Try to get a good teacher at a reasonable salary.
4) Sometimes when you go out to buy, the sales people try to sell the accessories which are not important to have. Do not run after unnecessary accessories because these are really not required in the beginning. Your child will usually urge you to have all of them. Buy what is actually required and what fits within your budget.
These are the four things which you need to ascertain that do not go wrong so that your child can start his music journey in best manner. One important thing to be mentioned here is that try to get your child musical instrument which he likes and which is according to his taste. Do not try to impose your choice on him. He will definitely do better if he plays and picks the instrument he likes.
