EGM January 2023
Here’s the current 2022/23 constitution for more information on all the positions!
Here’s the google form to submit your manifesto ahead of the EGM on Wednesday 15/01/2023 at 6pm.
Document last updated: 25/01/23 - 12:30pm
This document is not representative of all candidates that may run for election as individuals can choose to do so on the night.
Vice President Treasurer  b) One candidate (Name and manifesto will be shared on the night)
2. Disability Officer
a) Jamie Martin (They/he)
Hi! I’m Jamie (they/he), and I’m in my second year of Politics and Social and Public Policy here! This society has honestly saved me in multiple ways and is very close to my heart, and I’d love to be in this role so that I can create an inclusive and truly supportive space for anyone and everyone. I would be suited for this role as I have been in various advocacy and committee roles (see below), and am super passionate about making this society as safe and accessible as possible.
Previous experience:
- I worked within the British Youth Council to devise policy ideas on things like mental health and accessibility to propose to UK Government, and gained an ASDAN Youth Voice Award for my work
- I was a committee member of my hometown’s youth council (Impact), where I created and distributed a lot of information on safeguarding, mental health, and lockdown content, and helped to move operations online when the Covid-19 pandemic hit
- In college, I spent 2 years on my college council, arranging events like the leaver’s ball
- I’ve spent just under a year as News and Politics editor over at QMU’s student magazine (Qmunicate), writing about accessibility and queerness
In this role, I would focus on the usage of online means like the GULGBTQ+ Discord to ensure continued accessibility for the disabled community- as a society, strides were made in accessibility here during the Covid pandemic, and this could be really useful to keep going. I would do mini-meetups online in the disabled channel and advocate for more online stuff on the other channels, as well as keeping the in-person coffees, so those physically/ mentally unable to attend irl can still participate in society events. I would also work with the welfare officer to increase general inclusion and awareness- for example, using message reacts as a way to signal that somebody would like to be DM’ed by a committee member about a certain event due to something like a mental health issue, and something could be arranged them showing up early and hanging out with an identity officer beforehand. I would also like to do more events around disability- for example, an awareness panel similar to the ace one that was done, collaborating with other uni groups (the neurodiversity society, the SRC and student unions’ mental health campaigns, etc). I am also very cool and swaggy /j

AGM March 2022
AGM Candidates & Manifestos
Our AGM is on Wednesday 23rd March 2022 at 6pm!
2021/22 Constitution (for some info on the positions).
Candidate Form now closed. You can still run tonight at 6pm without filling out the form.
Updated: 23/3/22.
Currently no candidates: VP Treasurer, Gay Men's Officer, and First Year Officer.
-
President
1. Eva (she/they)
As your previous VP Treasurer, I have done mostly things that aren’t specifically tailored to my role, as our spending this year was limited. However, I believe I have done my best in organising events, leading our committee alongside Aster & Robyn, and supporting other committee member’s proposals. If I’m elected,
- I would encourage the use of our Discord server, which adds a safety element to students who aren’t out or are questioning their identities and sexualities, even as we move to in-person events
- I would foster our relationship with the unions of UofG, ensuring that real collaboration and not tokenism takes place
- I would continue to advocate for inclusivity in our society – especially regarding racialised and disabled members
- I would continue to listen to our member’s concerns and try to tap into the groups of students that engage less with our society (i.e. gay men, home students, etc.)
Moving towards next year, I would also do my best to liaise with other societies that align with our interests and would encourage slowly moving events to in-person being very conscious of the safety challenges that this can entail. I would like to follow the steps of previous committees in ensuring that historical events run smoothly, such as TDoR, Winter Ceilidh, LGBTHM, Queerfest and Farewell Cabaret. I feel that as a society, there are so many things that we can continue to do to embrace and welcome LGBTQ+ students into our community. I would be honoured if you voted for me as your President!
(Preference: President > Events Officer)
VP Secretary
1. Adrian (they/he)
Hello! Most of you might already know me from my last year spent on committee, but for those of you who don’t - I’m Adrian (they/he), 20 years old and just finishing my 2nd year of a Psychology degree. I started off on committee as International Officer a year ago and have been Welfare Officer since the start of this academic year, two roles which I greatly enjoyed. Throughout my time on committee, I’ve learned a lot about how things work, what I can contribute, and also just how much I enjoy being part of the committee as a collaborative space. By having the two different roles and getting involved in stuff beyond what my roles entailed, I understand what it’s like running coffees but also what goes into organising events well, as well as the amount of work that is required to keep the society up and running (including behind the scenes). I’d like to take on the role of VP Secretary because I am well-organised, reliable and good at looking ahead, which are qualities which I believe are needed for the duties and responsibilities of VP Sec. Additionally, I’ve been involved in organising and helping out with many of our events over the past year which I would love to take forward into the next year, especially as we might pivot to in-person events in the future which I know will pose new challenges for us who’ve mostly experienced uni in a pandemic. Finally, I have a lot of gratitude and appreciation for GULGBTQ+ as a whole, for being a source of community and friendships, so I wish to continue ensuring the society is as safe, welcoming and inclusive as possible from this new role. Thanks for your trust!
VP Treasurer
Currently no candidates.
Welfare Officer
1. Alex (they/them)
Hi, I’m Alex. I believe I would make a great welfare officer as I’ve had experience on GULGBTQ+’s committee as both first year and international officer, and am incredibly passionate about making GULGBTQ+ a safe space for all members. Having been on committee for the past year, I have become more familiar with the tasks and organisation required for this role, and I am confident in being a point of contact for any welfare issues in the society as well as supporting other identity officers in their roles. I would also love to become more involved in working with the University to improve queer, and all students’ welfare.
(Preference: Welfare Officer > Trans Officer)
Events Officer
Although I haven't been on committee while in-person events were held, I am sure that I can ask for help and with advice from previous committee members we could organize great events. If I’m elected,
- I would encourage the use of our Discord server, which adds a safety element to students who aren’t out or are questioning their identities and sexualities, even as we move to in-person events (with important safety and health considerations to be posed)
- I would make sure that events are accessible and inclusive to all
- I would follow the steps of previous committees and ensure that historical events (TDoR, Queerfest) run smoothly collaborating with Exec and the rest of the committee
- I would push for making the best use of the spaces and resources the Unions provide
I feel that as a society, there are so many events and activities that we can continue to run by and for our LGBTQ+ students. I would be honoured if you voted for me as your Events officer!
(Preference: President > Events Officer)
2. Lorelai (she/they)
In my undergraduate law school , right from my first year I was involved in helping out in organizing various events in law school, from fests to moot courts, and conferences. Years in law school taught me how to meet the most stringent of requirements, how to deal when an emergency comes up, how to keep it going despite the chaos that's thrown at you, and always having multiple backup options. Events do matter to our community, it's a way of bringing us together, we come together as a community with everyone pitching in their own unique ways to help the event happen, and of course the day of event itself that brings everyone together. I want to help and take initiative in organizing events that continue to foster a sense of community, invoke sense of belongingness, and ensure events exist as a safe space. Inclusivity and accessibility would go hand in hand, and take everyone's needs into account.
(Preference: POC Officer > Non-Binary Officer > International Officer > Events Officer)
Lesbian Officer
1. Rachel (They/She/He)
Hi everyone! I'm Rachel (they/she/he) and I'm a Politics and Psychology student. I've been the Lesbian officer for about 4 months now and I'm very excited to be running for re-election.
Over the past couple of months, I believe I have filled the role of lesbian officer well and shown that I possess the necessary qualities for the position, and I would love to be able to continue my work in the society and on the committee.
If elected, going forward I would love to plan and run a couple of coffees or other similar chill events over the summer to continue the society's safe place and atmosphere, and keep the discord active over the summer months. Furthermore, I would love to encourage the rest of the society to become more involved in the events by allowing non-committee members more opportunities to express what type of events they would like to see and provide feedback.
I really enjoy being part of the GULGBTQ+ committee and hopefully, you will consider re-electing me as the Lesbian officer.
Gay Men’s Officer
Currently no candidates.
Trans Officer
1. Alex (they/them)
Hi, I’m Alex! I’ve been on GULGBTQ+’s committee for the last year, both as first year and international officer. I therefore have experience with running coffees and events in the society which I look forward to continuing if elected for this role! I have also now attended two Trans Day of Remembrance events and intend to put all of my effort into making sure that the next TDOR, as well as Trans Awareness Week, goes forward successfully. I am particularly passionate about creating a welcoming community for trans people and those questioning their gender identity- I myself have done a lot of questioning and love having deep conversations about gender, so am very happy to be a point of contact and discussion for anyone who needs it! Despite only coming out as trans around a year and a half ago, I am dedicated to continually educating myself on trans issues and advocating for these in this role.
(Preference: Welfare Officer > Trans Officer)
2. Sam (he/they/it)
When I joined the committee as events officer it was mostly to fill a role. Not only did joining the committee lead me to making friends and feeling like I was contributing to a society that has helped me so much as a first year at university, but most importantly it gave me experience of being a part of the committee. With this experience I now feel ready to run for a position in which I will be able to contribute far more.
As a trans masc, non-binary person, my journey with my gender identity has been a long one and its not over yet. Years of self discovery have given me an understanding that will help me in this role. I love discussing and learning about trans identities, and will always be able to listen to those who may want to talk, be it someone questioning or someone certain of their own gender.
Having grown up in a small town where I had very little help or advice for a long time and I really want to be able to provide support for people within the society. I also have previous experience in roles including helping start my towns first GSA between schools, an opportunity which I will always be grateful for.
Most importantly, I am always willing to grow and learn in my role within the trans community, and this position will give me excellent opportunities to do so.
(Preference: Trans Officer > Bi & Pan Officer)
Postgraduate and Mature Student’s Officer
1. Kieran (he/they)
For anyone who does not know me, my name is Kieran, and I'm a postgraduate student studying an MSc in English Language and Linguistics. I am running for this position because I think it is very important that there be a PostMat officer over the summer, since many of us will be studying a third semester during that time. Below I have outlined my relevant experience, and my plan of action if I am elected:
Although I have no formal committee experience, I am used to organising social events over discord in both a formal and informal context. During the 2020-21 academic year, I assumed many of the responsibilities that would typically belong to a social secretary, and organised numerous in-person events at the Aberystwyth University Chess Club. I also established an informal club dedicated to the Japanese board game Shogi, and acted as its de-facto president, organising several online events and growing the club from scratch. I believe I am ready to take on the responsibilites of a full committee role.
If elected, my priority would be to ensure that all postgraduate and mature members of the society have the same access to support that they would expect throughout the usual academic year. Having experienced the better part of a postgraduate year myself, I feel well-placed to support both new and existing students with any concern or issue they may have, academic or otherwise. In a supportive role, I would always be happy to listen to any PostMat student in strict confidence, and to render whatever more formal support as may be necessary. My DMs on discord will always be open to anybody who needs to talk to me, and I am determined to show the same incredible support that has been shown to me in my time in GULGBTQ+.
I value immensely the PostMat channel in our discord server, and I would very much like to see it continue to function as a safe space for PostMat students to gather and support one another, as well as a potential social hub for those of us staying on for semester three. If elected, I would personally oversee the channel to ensure that it remains the safe and friendly space that I have found it to be in my time here
Finally, I would be open to organising social events in our voice channel over the summer. I know that for those of us who are staying in Glasgow, the prospect of many of our friends and classmates leaving for the break is a little sad. I would be happy to organise social events for anyone who wants to take part, whether they're staying here or going away for the summer.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read my manifesto and to consider me for this position. I am currently suffering from a bacterial infection, so my ability to attend the AGM is in doubt. I will make every effort to be there in person, but I am happy for another committee member to read this in my absence, should I be unable to attend.
Campaigns Officer
1. Jet (it/jests/stars)
Hi, my name is Jet and I'm running for campaigns officer. I believe I would be suited for this position as I'm a very passionate person, and would be very vocal and interested in any campaigns raised to my attention, and would raise campaigns of my own interest to the society. I'm very vocal about my beliefs, and do extensive research on things to shape my views, and feel like this would help me be able to make sure campaigns chosen are within our interest, and not pushing any harmful information.
Communications and Technology Officer
1. Alex/Ghost (he/they)
I've had a lovely time being part of committee already and would love to continue. I enjoy tinkering behind the scenes and being a part of this wonderful society. I would like to continue using the social media channels to promote our events and keep everyone up to date.
Bi and Pan Officer
I came out as bisexual when I was 13, and my journey of discovery has continued to this day. Every opportunity I got to connect with and talk to people like me has helped immensely and I hope that with this role I could provide support for those who need it in any way I can. I'm welcoming and open-minded so I hope I would always be someone that those within the bi/pan community could come to.
With my previous experience helping set up my towns GSA and more, I am well suited to the role and would look forward to contributing more to this society!
(Preference: Trans Officer > Bi & Pan Officer)
First Year Officer
Currently no candidates.
International Officer
1. Mars (they/them)
Hi! I'm Mars, a 1st year zoology student. I believe I'd be an excellent international officer as I've spent my entire life living in a wide range of countries, from Jordan to Spain. I moved from Madrid to Glasgow this year, and have lots of experience with the changes involved in moving countries. I therefore think I'd be able to support other international students, as I understand how daunting and isolating moving countries can be, especially as a queer person. I hope to create a community where international students can come together and share their cultures, whilst coming together as a queer community, too.
(Preference: Non-Binary Officer > International Officer)
2. Lorelai (she/they)
I am a Master's Student from India, and much of my experience as an international student has been a journey of learning new things everyday. Being an international student has made me realise how important it is to have a crucial system of support. For us queer international students having a system of support that looks into our needs makes a lot of difference. It's crucial to ensure that system of support continues to exist and evolves to address varying needs. During my time spent in the committee as the POC officer, I have realised that much of support is rooted in making things simpler, making person have ease of access to resources that they need, and above all feel like they are at home, where they no longer feel lost or unsure or confused, and are able to feel comfortable in this environment in their own terms. Also most important step for me is to make sure that students like us don't feel isolated, or left out, and much of my beliefs is rooted in helping each one of us be able to find a sense of community, a sense of belonging in Glasgow, in one's own terms. My chief plan of action primarily involves
Simplifying things. As queer international student I have always felt if I had easy access to resources that helped me understand what resources I could access when it comes to my transitioning, having access as to where to go exactly for mental health support, having access to where exactly one should go when it comes to sexual health and testing (it's Sandyford Sexual Health Clinic in West End). Basically in nutshell I do hope to create a system that acts like an informal 101 guide for international queer students at the uni at everything LGBTQIA related.
Ultimately I wish to create a need based system of support that addresses the unique and varying needs of international students, and is based on evolving based on their needs and wants.
(Preference: POC Officer > Non-Binary Officer > International Officer > Events Officer)
Asexual and Aromantic Officer
1. Emrys/Kallian/Cassian
* I’ve been an active member of the asexual community for a few years now, and more recently active as an aromantic person too
* I have been on this committee consistently as the Asexual/Aromantic Officer since October 2019, and I have immensely enjoyed taking part in this committee and being able to make a difference, so I would love to continue in this position for as long as I can
* I’ve run multiple events for asexual and aromantic awareness, giving informative presentations and hosting discussions on asexuality and aromanticism- most recently I did a presentation for Aro Awareness Week in February that went very well, we had a discussion after the presentation that was very engaging and informative
* I’ve put together many social media posts for asexual and aromantic awareness, sharing informative videos I’ve made on the topics, bits of interesting history about the identities as well as recommendations for books with asexual and aromantic representation
* I have also generally been helping plan and run main events with GULGBTQ+ and have a good track record of attendance to these events for the last three years
* I have been an active member of the community and working to raise awareness well before university as well- I took part in the LGBTQ+ society at my sixth form and helped running the events and informing students about the community- I also led a presentation for Asexual Awareness Week in collaboration with other sixth formers
* if I was re-elected for Ace/Aro Officer, I would continue my efforts in raising awareness for an identity that is less well known and understood than others- as I am personally very passionate about representation of minority identities- and always work to ensure ace and aro voices are promoted
* I like to think that I am an approachable person, so I am always open for a chat with anyone who is questioning their identity or just wants to know more about asexuality or aromanticism
Non-Binary Officer
1. Mars (they/them)
I've spent a significant portion of my life exploring my gender identity, and it has always played an important role in my life. I'd therefore like to be able to share my experiences to support other non-binary students, through as many means as possible. I'd like to continue the supportive community of non-binary students here in this society, created by committee members before me, whilst also contributing my own experiences and perspectives.
(Preference: Non-Binary Officer > International Officer)
2. Lorelai (she/they)
For me being Non-Binary has been a long journey of self exploration in terms of how I viewed my body and gender identity. I used to identify as a binary trans woman right from childhood till 2018. Much of mainstream social media discourse involving non binary identity was heavily focussed on the lily white transmisogyny exempt androgynous person as the main representation. A transfeminine person of colour was never the dominant representation, instead even if someone like me to be represented it was never representation really, it was one focused on shaming and ridiculing bodies and identities like mine for not conforming to the binary, for not being androgynous according to the white cis heteronormative norms, for not having bodies that ascribed to the white supremacist standards. When I came across Alok Vaid Menon and their works, I realised that my transfeminity was never binary, my non-binaryhood was valid. I realise much our representation is limited to narrow definition of "deemed as acceptable and palatable to cisnormative standards of androgyny". And this needs to be actively dismantled, destroyed, and thrown in the void where it belongs. My beliefs are rooted in reclamation of non-binary, for the bodies and identities that were shamed for the same, shamed for their race, for not being white, for bodies that never conformed to the mainstream white dominated standards of beauty. For me this position means creating a safe space, ensuring a safe space that focusses on particularly caring for those of us who never existed in conformity, for those of us who are marginalised, for those of us without privilege. Safe space where inclusivity is no longer a mere word, but rooted in radical action, to ensure that safe space strives to cater for the welfare of marginalised identities. From access to resources and opportunities and finding a sense of community, I want to support folks like me to find support for their needs and wants, a space that they can define in their own terms. A space where they feel heard, and needs are met. They are not only accepted, but are affirmed, where their identities are celebrated and able to exist as they wish to. I do also want to work at helping non-binary folks be able to find a sense of community in the city, by connecting them to communities that engage in things they enjoy - from sports by leapsports scotland to libraries and movies and access to mutual aid by Small Trans Library Glasgow. Much of my work would be building a support based model that works at community level, based on mutual aid and support that stems from the community. For it was community that helped me find joy and affirmation in being a non binary transfemme, and I would not have been where I am today without my community and it's support.
(Preference: POC Officer > Non-Binary Officer > International Officer > Events Officer)
3. Erin/Aren (they/them)
Hey folks, Im Erin/Aren and I’ve been the non-binary officer for GULGBTQ+ for the last year, and hope to be able to continue in this position.
My last year on committee gave me experience in running a well attended coffee which I would look forward to doing again with the new trans officer, hopefully being able to transition this back into an in person meet up in the coming year - I also helped to organise and run some great events such the presentation night, trans 101, and various quizzes.
I have also now attended two trans day of remembrance events, and helped to organise one of them, so I am acutely aware of how much preparation and planning goes into it. If I am re-elected I would like to be more heavily involved in the Tdor planning this coming year to help make sure everything runs smoothly.
I didn’t really start thinking about my own gender identity until I started university, and this society gave me a safe and encouraging place to do that. Being able to help create this environment for other trans and non-binary students, or anyone questioning their identity, has been one of my favourite parts of this role and one I am excited to continue. I think I’m pretty approachable, I’m a good listener and good at helping people talk through their thoughts and problems (and am always down for deep gender chats!) which makes me well suited to be a point of contact in this role.
In short, I really enjoyed my time on committee, I feel I was a good addition to the team, and I don’t feel like I’m done yet - I hope y’all agree!
People of Colour Officer
1. Lorelai (she/they)
Having been elected to this position since October 2021, being a People of Colour Officer has been a journey of learning and self reflection. During my time spent in the committee, from hosting coffees to helping organise society events I have learnt so much. And I do want to stand again for this position to be able to use what I have learnt from being in the committee to help support others like me. As I did say during my last election , it is still my ardent faith to continue working towards creating a safe space for LGBTQIA+ folks of colour within society as well as in the University. And my aim is to make support as accessible as possible to queer folks of colour. Most importantly I realised that as a trans femme of colour that how crucial it is to have a safe space and a system of support. And most important of all I want to work towards ensuring that the safe space for my community. I want to work towards creating that space where queer folks of colour can share their problems without any barriers and are able to have access to support that they need. And most importantly a safe space that gives them access to opportunities that they want for themselves be it anything, and should not face any barriers on basis of their gender , sexuality or race. Space where you are felt heard and affirmed.

Lesbian Officer
1. Rachel (she/they)
I'm passionate about inclusion and equity for all. I was a founding member of my high school's LGBTQ+ group, and I have the necessary skills and attitudes to make a great lesbian officer. I care about creating a safe and positive space for other lesbians as I believe that our issues are primarily similar to our LGBTQ+ peers but can often be uniquely challenging.
I also have three adorable cats that will no doubt join our weekly coffee events :)
2. Medha (she/her)
Greetings my fellow community members 💖 I am a lawyer from India pursuing masters in law at this university. As a lawyer, representation comes naturally to me. I would like to be elected to the position of the Lesbian Officer for I want to give back to my fellow community members by adding to it. I want to closely work with GULGBTQ+ and see what changes we could bring together, making this an even more working model. I find myself fit for this position because, (1) I have been an intersectional feminist even before I knew a term like this existed. (2) I am queer and I am here. (Nothing can beat this, yea?) (3) Being a lawyer, I understand the importance and significance of GULGBTQ+ constitution and I promise to abide by every article of it and put a motion to amend a provision, Suo - Moto or upon request, if it comes to it. (4) I am approachable as a being and I am sure my community will be able to come to me with requests and issues whenever they need to, without any hesitation. If given this opportunity I'd see to it that (1) There are more meet ups and events organised, especially with the next semester being in person (congratulations to us all and how good is that?) 😄 (2) I would encourage creation of space for active communication and support. I'd like to do this in coordination with the Events officer and others. (Thanking you in advance) I shall do this by associating specific agendas to the meet ups and making sure these are regularly held. (3) I have many plans (promising and exciting both) if I am given this opportunity. I'd love to put emphasis on how exciting the plans are. To begin with, let's have a secret Santa letter box this Christmas? (I am aware it's not an entertainment officers position but hey! Let's warm up first before moving to ground breaking exercises? There's a lot I am wanting to do and whatever I shall do will be with dedication, promise and honesty. Thank you for reading!!! Please do vote for me, I am sure you all like someone who does their job perfectly well and adds a hint of humour to it,no? Haha! Go, vote vote! May you have an excellent time at the university. ☺️
Trans Officer
1. Evie (she/her)
Hi, as you’re most likely aware. I’m running for the position of trans officer. I’m a first year student doing my degree in marine and freshwater biology, I go by Evie and use she/her pronouns. I have some experience in roles such as this, with a stint as head boy during my last year of primary school. Which was obviously multiple years and a whole different set of pronouns ago. My main goal in this position would be to help other transgender members within our community feel both welcome and supported throughout their time at the University of Glasgow. While the facilities currently in place for gender neutral use are a massive step towards creating a welcoming environment; I believe that some aspects of the current situation to be disheartening. And in particular I would like to work with the pre-existing members of the committee to petition the GUSA on the matter of gender neutral facilities within the Stevenson Building. Thank you for your time and I hope you consider me for this role.

EGM October 2021 Candidates
Our EGM is on 13th October at 7pm. If you would like to run for any position, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/MN4dw2eBXL2H9g6U6
Updated as responses come in. Updated as of 13/10/21 18:43.
Currently no candidates: Gay Mens Officer.
You may also run on the night without filling in the form! <3
Welfare Officer
1. Adrian (they/them)
I have been on committee for about half a year now as the International Officer and enjoyed being involved in various tasks and decisions, as well as being able to meet other international students in the International Coffees. I feel like I have been a valuable committee member as I have been involved with things related to my position specifically (e.g. presenting GULGBTQ+ to the Glasgow International College), but also beyond. For example, I am currently involved in making weekly social media posts and announcements, and I was also involved in creating previous Meet the Committee postings. I am happy to be one part of what makes GULGBTQ+ such a wonderful and well-established society, and I would like to take on some more responsibilities by becoming the Welfare Officer. I believe I am suited for this role because I care strongly about the wellbeing of all our members, and I would always be happy to be contacted to listen to people's personal situations and try to help them within my abilities. Thanks <3
2. Freya (any)
I’m now in my final year of my degree and I’ve seen firsthand just how hard it can be to look out for welfare whilst going through university. I hold welfare as one of the most important things in my life, there’s no point in succeeding if you destroy yourself along the way. I adore being of help to others and I have a lot of experiences to draw from when it comes to helping others. Caring for others is a major part of my life, and I’m open to absolutely everyone at any time. As welfare officer I would hope to use my experience and contacts to expand upon our safe atmosphere within the university and make as many resources available as I can. In the past I have taken on roles like this in other groups I take part in and I think this type of role is a necessity. I would hope that I could do this role justice.
Events Officer

I am happy to be one part of what makes GULGBTQ+ such a wonderful and well-established society, and I especially enjoy being part of the events which is why I would like to become the Events Officer. It would give me a chance to continue the work I have already been doing, but also contribute more towards events organisation in the future.
I believe I am suited for this role because I am organised, attend most of the Main Events already, and would want to ensure that once there is a return to in-person events, these can happen as safely and accessibly as possible.
Thanks <3
Gay Mens Officer
1. Finlay (he/him)
Having been active in the queer community in my secondary school and helping many people though issues I myself have been through, I would love to continue to do this further and I see this as an opportunity for myself to do so
Postgraduate & Mature Students' Officer
1. Lorelai (she/they)
Being a Postgraduate student from the LLM (Masters in Law) degree, it's been endless series of constant, never ending exploration, to navigate my trans Identity as well as go through the rigorous routine of postgraduate program. To have a safe space to find support and solidarity, to find the vital and necessary resources and means is extremely important when it comes to being LGBTQIA+ postgrad student. And I want to ensure that this safe space remains there, and remains open to anyone in need of support, and it should be within their reach, without any barriers or difficulty. Because world of academics can have multiple obstacles, often systemic, that's why need of a safe space to provide support through any difficulty that arises is the need of the hour. I believe that if I am in this position, I would do all that is possible to ensure that there is a safe space, sustain the same as means of support , and be a source of support and affirmation, when need arises. And to let anyone reach out to me, with ease and convenience, I wish to be an officer who is accessible in times of need.
2. Kate (she/her)
Hi! I'm a postgraduate and mature student hoping to be a source of support for others in this society. I appreciate the pressures that we postmat's face, from academic challenges to just ~life~, and I've found GULGBTQ+ to be a wonderful community to help decompress. I’d like to contribute to this society by helping other members and officers in whatever capacity needed, whether that be providing informational resources, facilitating events, or simply fostering a friendly space to chat and engage. Additionally, I’d like fellow members to get the most from their experience with this society, and I’m happy to work together on any desired postmat projects.
If elected to the position, I will be an open and available source to others and positively contribute as an involved member of GULGBTQ+. Even if I’m not, I look forward to getting to know more of you :) Thanks!
Campaigns Officer
1. Kareena (she/her)
I believe I can make a significant difference and contribution to this community due to my interpersonal and management skills.
2. Lorelai (she/they)
The fight for rights and freedom of our community as always been an endless campaign since times immemorial. LGBT rights movements have always run in solidarity with other movements for human rights from issues of racial justice to reproductive autonomy, etc. The first pride, back in New York , in backdrop of fight against the white supremacist institution, fight against the white patriarchy , a rebellion rooted in liberation on basis of sexuality, gender and race. As a community , we are capable of organising ourselves and working in solidarity with other oppressed communities and bring forward the change that we desire the most , and make impact in lives of others. For me campaigning isn't just advocacy for myself alone, it's what I can make use of my privileges to make that difference. Queer liberation has never lived in isolation, it has worked on lines of race, gender and other factors. Queer liberation is rooted in intersectionality. And that's what I aspire for the most. To bring forth the change, together as a community.
Communications and Technology Officer
1. Freya (any)
I feel that I could be of assistance to the society in this role as I have experience with organising websites, social media and discord servers. Certainly I feel the website could do with some updating to make it easier to navigate and find information and I have some ideas for how to easily streamline some things in the discord server such as roles and ensuring rules have been read.
First Year Officer
1. Simon (he/him)
I have been working hard with members of other societies to improve the environment for LGBTQ+ people in their clubs. Going beyond that I can do amazing work with the LGBTQ+ society, to be a part of the team that has an ambition to enhance further to comfort of members of the community at UofG. I am most excited by the opportunity to help promote this societies events, and share my ideas about how to make this society more accessible, and appealing, to the LGBTQ+ community at the university. Many first year LGBTQ+ people I speak to at this uni have expressed that they are not comfortable coming to this society's events. I would like to take their feedback on board as first year officer, to work to make this society appeal more to them so that we can offer this space to more LGBTQ+ people at the university, and encourage more to join. I believe that the role of this society at the university is incredibly important, and I would love to do what I can to increase our accessibility to more students.
2. Euan (they/them, any)
I'd be honoured to be chosen as GULGBTQ+'s First Year Officer, as someone who's been so appreciative of the incredibly warm welcome that I got from the society. I'd like to think I've got the skills needed for a role like this, and I've served in various representative and organisational roles, as a Former Member of Youth Parliament, the Local Executive Youth Officer in a major political party and the President of a School-run charity organisation. If I'm elected I hope to do everything I can to use those skills and experiences to represent and help my fellow first-years, as well as helping the wider society and Queer community at Glasgow as best as I can.
International Officer
I am happy to be one part of what makes GULGBTQ+ such a wonderful and well-established society, and I would be happy to continue being the International Officer. I believe I am suited for this role because I am an international student, and can relate to and possibly help with many of the struggles that other international students might have. I have also been successfully hosting International Coffee so far, and would be able to continue that if I get re-elected. Thanks <3
POC Officer
1. Moni (she/her)
There is not a huge amount of support on campus for POC LGBTQ+ students and I think it would be great to work in a role that can give those students an opportunity to come together. I am a bisexual POC and have worked with people previously in this role.
2. Lorelai (she/they)
As a non binary trans femme of colour from India, I exist at an intersection of being the "other" for my gender identity as well as my race. Given my experiences of racism and transmisogyny for me, the existence of safe space becomes vital for queer folks of colour. Safe space to be themselves, safe space to navigate their identities, explore and express their ideas and feelings in one's own terms. Safe space that offers support and affirmation at all times. My aim , as a POC officer is to provide and sustain this safe space for queer folks of colour in a white dominated environment. To make sure that , the society and by extension the university remains a safe space. Above all for me this safe space is to connect our gender or sexuality to our culture and heritage in our own terms.
Disability Officer
1. Elizabeth (they/them)
I am autistic, have a physical disability and mental health disability, and the discrimination I have had to face has given me the sense of urgency to create more safe spaces for queer disabled people where everyone is heard and everyone's needs are individually catered to. I believe I would be strongly suited for this position due to my previous work in my senior year of high school as School Ambassador and then School Prefect after being promoted for my activism & campaigns ran about invisible disabilities, creating a learning environment that accommodates neurodivergent people, and contributing to a new PSE Curriculum by advocating for reproductive health awareness on Endometriosis & PCOS to close the gap of people having to wait 7 years for a diagnosis. As Disability Officer, I aspire to create an uplifting community to support all fellow queer disabled folk, and continue raising awareness and running campaigns to make our University a more supportive environment for all.

AGM March 2021 Candidates
Our AGM is on March 24th 2021 at 6pm. If you would like to run for any position, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/bKLenWUzMAvqUvJn6
We will be updating this list as responses come in.
President
1) Robyn (they/ze)
GULGBTQ+ this year has been such a lifeline as well as a joy to be part of, especially as VP Sec in the midst of all the chaos. Not only am I up to the challenge of being President but it would also be a joy to continue on the amazing work we’ve done over the last 2 semesters.
So, to keep it brief, I’ve spent the last 2 semesters as VP Secretary (and some time before as Non-Binary Officer) and have learned how to help lead but also deal with unprecedented challenges. I already have insight not only into how the committee works but also how to help make a good exec strong, stepping up to the plate when needed but also helping to keep our minutes & social media content tidy and accessible. I’ve also helped create and support our weekly events, while also taking on smaller responsibilities such as giving the Pronoun Pledge to clubs/socs on campus. In short, I know how the society functions like the back of my hand and it’s been a pleasure serving as VP Sec to not only a supportive society and wider community but a super amazing committee, therefore I want to go further.
If I were President, not only would I continue the work and connections we’ve built this year - with societies like GUSocNet especially - but also take on board new ideas and form new connections with more groups, people and societies not just within the university community but outside of also. For me, solidarity is key. I understand the importance of these networks and connections especially during lockdowns but also in hopefully one day being able to have in-person events, as I’ve helped do event collabs but also helped in maintaining and making new connections with societies on campus that we may have never linked up with before. Moreover, I’m dedicated to helping us fulfil our aims of being an activism dedicated society in engaging with the community and supporting those within it not just in Glasgow - especially as we face many new uphill battles as a community on and off campus.
I’m more than well aware of the challenges and responsibilities of being President of such a big, complex and varied society but I never back down from a challenge and know where my strengths and limitations lie. Overall, it would just be a delight to be your President for the upcoming year as I go into my final undergrad year. Not to be soppy but the society means a lot to me and I hope I can help channel that to lead the society, committee and our community on campus. <3
VP Secretary
1) Aster (they/xe/fae)
I have been on committee for a total year and a half now, most recently this past year as Non-Binary Students Officer, and so in this time I have experience (collaboratively) organising and running events, such as Trans 101, Transgender Day of Remembrance and Queerfest; and more recently I have set up a collaboration with Glasgow Marrow to encourage our members to include themselves on the bone marrow donation register. I hope this exemplifies both how active I have been on the committee and also demonstrates the knowledge and familiarity of the workings of the committee I have.
If elected, as VP Secretary I want to continue to build on the relationships with other societies and unions, particularly GuSOCNet and QMU, as I believe we have done great work in collaboration with them this year, as well as seek further opportunities, as I believe it is beneficial to our society and our members to have these connections.
In the coming year we may expect to see the easing of lockdown restrictions which may allow us to return to some in person events. If elected to this exec position I will work towards slowly and safely returning to regular meetups for our society, and to continue to provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for all, further improving on the work of this last committee to accommodate to the needs of disabled members and members of colour, working to elevate the voices of those members and of the welfare officers who represent them.
I am going on to study a Masters next year (in Theatre Studies for those who were wondering), and while I understand that an exec position is big responsibility, this year I have been able to manage my time effectively between my studies and my committee responsibilities. Having spoken to Robyn, the current VP Secretary, I understand the responsibilities expected of the position and believe that I will be able to continue to balance my time and effort between my studies and committee.
In closing, I want to run for VP Secretary as GULGBTQ+ has been such an integral part of my university life and experience, and I want to continue to give back, to provide the welcoming and encouraging safe space that has been afforded to me over my last 4 years at university! I believe you can have faith that I will put my all into the position if elected, as I have done this past year as your Non-Binary Officer, dedicating as much time and effort needed to keep the society running to its full potential.
VP Treasurer
1) Ren (they/she)
My previous role on committee was as the Bi/Pan officer for the academic year 2020/21, and my overall experience was extremely enjoyable despite the setbacks we faced due to everything being taught remotely. With massive thanks to all the members of the committee we managed to create a safe, inclusive place for students who were isolated from normal university life with all of the events, weekly coffees and general conversations on the discord channel, amongst a time of solitude for most, especially as LGBTQ+ individuals. My experience interacting with all of the people I had the privilege of meeting during the past year is what has prompted me to apply as VP Treasurer for the society, as I think my involvement with the society has been an instrumental part of the past year, and something I hope to continue my involvement with until I graduate.
As the possibility of the university becoming in person rather than taught remotely becomes more possible, I would love to take up the role as VP Treasurer and help return the society to normalcy and create a safe environment for in-person events, meetings and panels. As this is uncertain, having worked on the committee online, I feel I would be capable to execute this role in an online sense as well, with the support of the previous VP Treasurer if I had the privilege of being chosen for this role.
Navigating my role on the committee in a purely online presence was definitely challenging at times, but I feel it has prepared me to continue this role for however long need be, as I feel the society is such an important part of University life for so many LGBTQ+ individuals, and the opportunity to work with old and new committee members and society members would be a privilege.
2) Eva (she/her)
I chose to involve myself more in this society when I joined the Discord server some time at the beginning of the first semester. I saw what an engaging and welcoming society this was, and felt very welcomed by all. I wanted to transmit this feeling to others, so I joined the committee. As the Welfare Officer, I have thoroughly enjoyed moderating panels, collaborating to bring together events and helping to knit a tighter (cyber) community. If I'm elected,
- I would push for continued use of the Discord server, which adds a safety element to students who aren't out or are questioning their identities and sexualities
- I would encourage the society to continue in our line of advocating for causes that affect the POC and disabled members that form part of our society
- I would also listen and take into consideration to our member's concerns and worries pertaining the society or the university
As VP Treasurer, I would be extra organised since it's the money of everyone in the society and it should be destined towards cool events and things that efficiently serve us as a society. I should also mention that I am good at managing finances and would do my best to ensure all things money-related are in order! I feel that as a society, there are so many things that we can do to welcome LGBTQ+ students into our "safety net" and I would be honoured to continuing doing this. Thank you for reading! (Vote 4Eva 2021)
Events Officer
1) Ren (they/she)
I joined the GULGBTQ+ committee as the Bi/Pan officer for the academic year 2020/21, and my experience in this role has been enlightening. Despite the current climate in regards to various lock-downs and closed campuses, with massive thanks to all the members of the committee we managed to create a safe, inclusive place for students who were isolated from normal university life with all of the events, weekly coffees and general conversations on the discord channel, amongst a time of solitude for most, especially as LGBTQ+ individuals. I feel this impact the society had on the students and committee members I was lucky enough to interact with is what has prompted me to apply as Event's officer, as I believe these events are a vital part of our community in creating a sense of belonging for folks who may feel ostracised at home or in University.
The events coordinated by the extremely talented previous committee members are not just an opportunity for solace from the monotony of classes, deadlines and general university stress, but also a chance to educate ourselves and each other on the issues we should all be aware of, with and out with the LGBTQ+ experience. The society strives to give a voice to marginalised groups, such as people of colour and trans individuals, through various panels and informative events that take place. The chance to work with such individuals and help create a platform for all of us to become more informed on issues happening around us is something I would take great pride in.
Alongside this, each month of the year brings new days to be celebrated for different LGBTQ+ individuals, and the chance to orchestrate events around these, in correspondence with each of the identity officers, is something I believe to be essential for members of our community.
Welfare Officer

2) Ethan (he/him)
I joined the GULGBTQ+ committee last October, at the EGM, as the First Year Officer. Being part of this family for the past six months has really kept me going! It has been great to help support the committee in wider projects and events - and I’ve loved starting to get to know members and more of the community. So, I’m re-running for committee 21/22!
Welfare is something that I care a lot about - and I think I could bring a lot to the role of Welfare Officer. I’d like to think I’m someone you could come to with anything from small personal problems, to barriers you hit with uni-wide systemic issues. I might not be able to promise I can fix everything, but sure can promise I’ll have a good try, and regardless will support you through it all.
This year has given me a rapid introduction to Discord, with the GULGBTQ+ server being the first time I’d ever used it in September/October… to now being involved with twelve different ones. I might not have mastered it all yet, but we’re getting there!
Hopefully we’ll get back on campus for 21/22 and if we do I’d love to run monthly welfare events or drop ins, where you can sit down with me and chat about whatever’s going on. If we’re still off-campus, then we’ll make it work virtually instead. I wasn’t involved in the GULGBTQ+ family system this year but was with the equivalent in the medical school and it’s a set-up I am a huge fan of. I’d love to work on developing that system and helping new members find their feet.
Mostly, I am really keen to work with the other officers, and wider university services to ensure that there is access to events, spaces, and services that can support you throughout the year. If something is lacking, or needs changing - I want to know about it, and try to fix it. I’m particularly keen to work with other student led groups intersectionally, like GUSoCNet and the disabled students’ group, to make sure that wider student run events are accessible and welcoming to all.
I’d also like to try and work with GUSA and sports/activities clubs to put on LGBTQ+ sessions as I know it can be intimidating, uncomfortable, and dysphoria triggering being in sporty environments. But finding ways to run some fun and accessible sessions to workout is something I’d love to see - and hopefully I’m not the only one!
I’ll do what I can to support officers in the facilitation of their coffees and events, and beyond all of it if you just need someone to sit and have a cuppa and a chat, or a cuppa and a cry, with - I’m here for that too.
Campaigns Officer
1) Katie (she/her)
Hi all! I'm currently a first year student soon to go on to her second year studying Spanish and Portuguese. Having joined the society last September, I've witnessed the way in which members of our society have supported and helped other members of the LGBTQ+ community both within and out with the university, whether that was through their contribution to the Rosey Project this year, or responding to the Scottish Government's reforms to the Gender Recognition Act.
As someone who has experience with working to raise awareness of issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community, having been a leading member of my prior school's LGBTQ+ group and worked as an Equality Ambassador, I feel that I can further continue the work the previous Campaigns officers have done, including working with our trans and nonbinary officers to carry out the pronoun pledge across campus, working with committee members towards helping the society's chosen annual charity, and keeping our members up to date on how they can help within the political realm, pushing changes to legislation and policies which affect our community.
I would love to help the society in anyway that I can and support our wonderful and diverse community in reaching the equality we deserve!
Communications and Technology Officer
1) Talha (he/him)
Coming from Pakistan, a country where LGBT+ identities are outlawed, GULGBT+ has been the first queer community I have ever been a part of. It has afforded me a sense of belonging and security that I had not experienced before, and I want to give back to the community that welcomed me with so much love.
As a graduate marketing student, I am equipped with the skills required to grow the society’s presence digitally. I am well versed in social media management, growth strategies and website management including SEO. Using these skills, I can grow GULGBT’s social media accounts, develop a content strategy involving podcasts and videos to improve engagement within the society and the broader LGBT community, revamp it’s website to make it more modern and user-friendly and help reach out to potential sponsors. The society’s communication officers have done great work in the past and I believe I can build upon that to help GULGBT grow and in doing so present a better representation of what the society stands for.
Thank you for reading and for making this community so wholesome.
2) Evelyn (they/them)
I am the current com-tech and I really enjoyed it. I'd like to run again as I being able to contribute to the society.
Lesbian Officer
1) Rebecca (she/they)
Despite being a relatively new member to GULGBTQ+, I've found the society to be extremely welcoming and a real place of community, especially in such difficult times. I'd be so thrilled to be part of the committee that helps make the server - and the society - such a welcoming place to be. As the lesbian officer, I'd love to make an effort to hold regular check ins, whether that's through coffees or other events, and would want to make sure all lesbian aligned individuals within the society knew they could come to me and have a safe space to chat through anything that was bothering them. Equally, I'd be interested in finding out what sort of events or check ins other people would want to see so I could implement these going forward.
I know that times right now are especially difficult and I'd love to be a friendly face that people could come to when they were struggling - especially with regards to gender/sexuality. My own sexuality/gender journey has been long and complex and I feel like I am able to help others through theirs due to my own experience. More than anything, I just want to help lesbian aligned people have a fun, safe time within the society and to have a space where they can freely be themselves without fear of backlash!
Gay Men's Officer
1) Liam (he/him)
Hi there, I'm Liam, I was the Gay Mens officer last year and I'm looking to be re-elected for that position. Over the last year I have run the gay & MLM coffees and the International Mens Day panel. Also as the committes resident big gay nerd was always on hand to help sort issues with the Discord server which had inevitably arisen. I'm looking for re-election so that I can keep doing what I have been for the last year and help make the society a welcoming place for all.
Bi & Pan Officer
1) Emrys/Kallian (they/he/xe)
I've been the Ace/Aro officer since October 2019, and have really enjoyed taking part in this committee so far, so I would love to remain on the committee for as long as I can. I've helped with organising society events, and held events for asexual and aromantic awareness weeks respectively, as well as created and shared resources for each. if elected for bi/pan officer, I will do the same things I did as ace/aro officer- i will make sure to run informative and welcoming events for relevant awareness days and weeks, and share helpful resources for anyone questioning. I also like to think I am a good listener, and open-minded so I will always be open to chat for anyone who has questions about LGBTQ+ issues, or needs a shoulder to lean on!
2) Alex (she/her)
Hello everyone! I'm a 2nd year Vet med student from Chicago. I was international officer this year and it was a very rewarding position. This year I loved being able to bring the main uni LGBTQ+ society closer together with the veterinary LGBTQ+ community. We all need each other now more than ever, and being able to come together as a larger LGBTQ+ community with access to more support and resources is the best way to support all of our members as best we can. This coming year I'll be the welfare officer for the Vet LGBTQ+ and I hope I can continue to facilitate conversations between the two groups. If selected for this role, I hope to support my fellow members of the bi/pan community in any way I can. I also hope to support the society as a whole and put energy towards helping out other committee members with anything they might need. I'm so excited to be a part of this organization, as it has helped me so much to build a network here and generally feel more comfortable and at home in Glasgow. I'm so thankful that GULGBTQ+ exists and that I was able to give back to the community, and I would love to continue to pay it forward.
Trans Officer
1) Robyn (they/ze)
Like I said for my manifesto for President, GULGBTQ+ this year has been such a lifeline as well as a joy to be part of, especially as VP Sec in the midst of all the chaos. It would also be a joy to continue on the amazing work we’ve done over the last 2 semesters in being your Trans Officer for this year.
So, to keep it brief for you, I’ve spent the last 2 semesters as VP Secretary and some time before as Non-Binary Officer, and have learned how to help lead but also deal with unprecedented challenges. I’ve helped create and support our weekly events, while also taking on smaller responsibilities such as giving the Pronoun Pledge to clubs/socs on campus. Also I’ve been engaged in key events like Trans Day of Remembrance and have attended (and ran some) Trans & Non-Binary coffees over my time in the society. Outside the society, I’m very much engaged in trans activism, in the trans community in general and I’m very aware of the uphill challenges as a community that we’re facing on and off campus. Highlighting and raising awareness of trans issues on and off campus is something I would make central to my role as Trans Officer, especially by working with Campaigns, the wider trans community and other groups on campus.
Again like I said before, it would just be amazing to serve on committee again and it would mean a lot for me to serve such an amazing society and community, and help to be a voice that the trans community can depend on.
With my current, and previous, experiences in similar roles, I think that I would be a great addition as your next Trans Officer. This year I have been in the role of Trans Officer on the Glasgow Medical Students LGBTQIA+ Society, and in the past I have spent two years in the similar role when I studied previously at UWS, as well as two years in the similar role nationally with NUS Scotland. I’d love to bring all of those experiences, to GULGBTQ+!
This year I created a video for Trans Day of Remembrance, that the university shared, and organised and led a workshop around trans health for healthcare professionals/students, which was attended by 160+ people from up and down the country.
As a medical student and (one day) future doctor, a huge area of focus for me is around trans, non-binary, and gender diverse healthcare in education, research, and practice. I’ve been setting up an organisation that works on just that, with plans in the works for a first conference next year.
I’m also no stranger to blog writing, and video content creating, having done much of this openly around my own transition. This all has given, and keeps giving, me a load of networking opportunities, and I’d love to use some of these connections to put on a diverse range of events throughout the year.
I’m also really keen to work with GUSA and sports clubs, other societies, and groups on campus, to encourage them to look at ways to improve diversity and inclusivity in their activities for trans students at the university.
Nonbinary Officer
1) Robyn (they/ze)
Like I said in my other manifestos, GULGBTQ+ this year has been such a lifeline as well as a joy to be part of, especially as VP Sec in the midst of all the chaos. It would also be a joy to continue on the amazing work we’ve done over the last 2 semesters in being your Non-Binary Officer for this year.
So, to keep it brief for you, I’ve spent the last 2 semesters as VP Secretary and some time before as Non-Binary Officer previously, and have learned how to help lead but also deal with unprecedented challenges. Outside the society, I’m very much engaged in activism around non-binary and trans issues, and know the importance of maintaining strong networks especially with the various uphill battles as non-binary people we are facing on and off campus. Therefore I would work with the Trans Officer closely as well as the trans & non-binary community we have in the society to highlight and raise awareness of issues, as well as maintaining and creating links with the wider trans community and groups on campus.
Again like I said before, it would just be amazing to serve on committee again as Non-Binary Officer as I didn't get to spend a full academic year in the role before. And it would mean a lot for me to serve such an amazing society and community, and help to be a voice that the non-binary community can depend on.
Ace & Aro Officer
1) Emrys/Kallian (they/he/xe)
I've been the Ace/Aro officer since October 2019, and have really enjoyed taking part in this committee so far, so I would love to continue in this position for as long as I can. I've helped with organising society events, and held events for asexual and aromantic awareness weeks respectively, as well as created and shared resources for each. if re-elected for ace/aro officer, I will continue to do the same- i will make sure to run informative and welcoming events for relevant awareness days and weeks, and share helpful resources for anyone questioning. I also like to think I am a good listener, and open-minded so I will always be open to chat for anyone who has questions about LGBTQ+ issues, or needs a shoulder to lean on!
First Year Officer
Postgraduate and Mature Students Officer
1) Ethan (he/him)
I joined the GULGBTQ+ committee last October, at the EGM, as the First Year Officer. Being part of this family for the past six months has really kept me going! It has been great to help support the committee in wider projects and events - and I’ve loved starting to get to know members and more of the community. So, I’m re-running for committee 21/22!
I have spent the majority of this year on the Mature Students’ Association committee too. In the recent SRC elections was elected as the Age Equality Officer for 21/22 - I am keen to pull all of these together as the Post-Mat Officer and make sure that I am a strong voice for the needs of postgraduate and mature students within the LGBTQ+ community.
Studying medicine as a second degree, and being in my 30s, I fully appreciate the challenges that the postgraduate and mature student students face. I’m really keen to ensure that there are spaces for post/mat students with events/socials run that are family friendly, more flexible in timing and scope, to allow for a variety that is accessible to all of you.
International Officer
1) Alex (she/her)
Hello everyone! Above all, I hope to continue to support International students and make sure this is a warm and welcoming home away from home.
2) Adrian (they/them)
Hi! I am currently still a first year student doing biology and psychology. I am from Germany and mainly during second semester, I have attended a lot of the (really great!) main events which made me feel very welcome and I feel like I am part of the community despite never having met anybody in person. I would like to become the international officer because I think it will allow me to generally become more engaged with students within the society and to help other international students to feel like they belong at this university no matter their sexuality or gender identity, but also no matter from where they came to Glasgow. Being an international student can sometimes make you feel foreign or like you don't belong here but I think exchanging with other international students about their similar experiences is really valuable, and I would like to facilitate those conversations and help people feel included (especially in covid times where everything sometimes seems more lonely and separated than ever).
Even though I have not been on any committee before, I am certain that I can find my way into the role. With any position or task that I take on, I am always committed to give my best and learn from challenges in a reflected manner. I am also organised and always keen on constructive exchange. Lastly, it was partly because of the gulgbtq+ society that during this year, I have been able to really establish my connection to my own identity and with it the lgbtq+ community as a whole. I am very thankful that the society has provided such a space for me and I would love to be part of the committee to allow other students to have that same experience
POC Officer
Disability Officer
1) Gabriel (xe/she/they)
As a disabled queer person, I fully understand the need for community, mutual aid, supporting each other and being allowed to learn our own history. I would be able to run weekly coffee, listen to disabled LGBTQI+ people within the society to make sure we are represented & included within events, and help to organise accessible events for disabled GULGBT+ members. I was Disabled Student's Officer at my last university, and represented us at the NUS Disabled Student's Conference 2014, so I have experience within disability equality roles too!

EGM candidates
Our EGM is on October 9th, 2020. If you would like to run for any position, please fill out this form https://forms.gle/EMdnNa7Nr7ybah7E6! We will be updating this list as responses come in.
VP Secretary
1) Robyn (they/them)
GULGBTQ+ has been a real lifeline for me (like many others) since I started university and especially now in my 3rd year in the middle of a pandemic. And so I would love to be VP Sec to give back, support and uplift the community that’s had my back and been my safe space for the last few years.
I previously spent some time as Non-Binary officer last year so I already have an insight into the on-goings of the society. And I also attended Trans and Non-Binary coffees nearly every week. As VP Sec I would want to give more attention and accessibility to POC, disabled, and trans students in particular, especially right now.  I would love to continue to work with the SRC and GUSocNet in particular, and reach out to others also. As a home student, I know the importance of having a network and so I would love to keep strengthening the network we have built as a community and expanding it. But of course most importantly working alongside our already amazing exec and committee to put ideas into motion. (And maybe make a zine or two ya know).
I realise the massive responsibility that is being part of the exec but I’m more than willing to rise to that challenge this year. Overall I want everyone to feel like they have a safe space within the society and that this is their community too. It would be a joy to be your VP Sec this year and continue to help carry on the community we have here! :) (And stay safe!)
2) Liam (he/him)
I’d be the right candidate as since I’ve joined I’ve been active in the society whether it be events or discussions going on in the server. This is important as there always has to be an open channel for discussion and chat no matter the topic. Being the VP Secretary is a big undertaking and in that i’d love to be able to chat to you all whether it be in coffees, direct messages, or an anonymous poll every now and again to find out what direction you want the society to move in. The priorities of a society are fluid in a changing world and I believe i’d be the one to step up and give people the voice to help us steer in the right direction
Events Officer
1) Robyn (they/them)
As Events Officer, I would love to continue the work previous folk have done over the last few years in running more accessible and ever creative events. Moreover this would be incredibly important with the on-going Covid situation and I would love to have the challenge of creating new events with the committee and in the society to adapt to the new online environment. To find new ways of fundraising for the society and also making online events just as exciting as in-person events were. I’m a very creative, inventive and adaptable person thanks to my degree, the projects I do outside of university and work I did with charity events back at school. Last year, I spent some time as Non-Binary officer, attending trans & non-binary coffees throughout the year and so I have a decent idea of running events already in the society. I would strive to continue to make events more accessible and welcoming to POC, international and disabled students etc., and also manage the issues that previous years may have had by taking on constructive feedback consistently. In all, I want to create a space and event for everyone by solidifying communication inside the society and outside the society.
Communications and Technology Officer
1) Evelyn (they/them)
I’m a social and economic history student. I have found it really valuable to meet people through GULGBTQ especially the craft group. I really don’t know what I’d have been able to do otherwise as I found it quite difficult making friends etc when I first came to Glasgow last year. On that note I would like to contribute to the society… Mostly I’d really like to improve the website e.g. the calendar is in need of a bit of TLC!
2) Liam (he/him)
As a technologically oriented person, I believe I would be able to do the Communications and Technology role justice by setting up regular channels for communication. The website as cute as it may be is dated and could do with a freshen up. This is however easier said than done, after evaluating with everyone what priorities for it we should have the slow process of neatening it can begin. To bring people to any events, the weekly announcements message could be posted on the page along with a link to the Discord server. The page is a representation of what we do as a society yet it lays bare with nought but who is on the committee and manifestos of who would like to be. Be gay do crime, thanks for listening.
Men’s Officer
1) Ethan (he/him)
Hi, I’m Ethan - a graduate and now first year medical student, who has been involved in student representation as some kind of liberation officer for the past 4 or 5 years. I came out as transgender in 2016, and since then have openly shared my transition and experiences on a small YouTube channel. I’m tired of the narrative that as a trans man I am not a “real” man, and the barriers faced by transmasculine individuals in accessing things that are typically put down as ‘feminine’ needs (sanitary bins - I’m looking at you!). I am incredibly keen to push for change in the teaching of healthcare subjects, so that it is less awkward accessing things such as cervical smears and menstrual care, and that healthcare teaching in general stops being focused from a cis-het viewpoint. Whilst that may be one of my personal main focuses, wider campaigns and work around challenging stigmas particularly associated with men’s mental health and sexual health is really important. So I’d want to make sure there is involvement in these too.
2) Liam (he/him)
GULGBT+ has so far done a great job of having everyone feel accepted and have a space to chat but at the moment there isn’t a Mens Officer and from anecdotal experience there is a significant lean in the societies demographic to female students at least in terms of activity in the society. My aim as this years Mens Officer would be to make the society a welcoming place for all, whether this is through running events directed towards those who aren’t aware of the society or aren’t aware of its purpose.
International Officer
1) Alexandra (she/her)
After moving to the UK last year, there were so many new things that I had to learn and there was plenty of confusion and mistakes along the way. Now that I’ve settled in and I feel comfortable as a resident of Scotland, I would love to have the opportunity to give advice and guidance to those who are still figuring things out, or are just looking for solidarity during a difficult adjustment period. It can be so disorienting and isolating to leave behind your family and friends to move to a new country, and I hope to let some folks know that they’re not alone and they can talk to me and all the other wonderful people in GULGBT. This club made a huge difference for me in this regard, and I want to make sure others get that opportunity as well!
2) Pat (they/them)
I’ve been an international student in different countries over the years and it’s had a profound impact on how I can conceptualize and relate my own queer identity. Listening to and supporting each other as international students who are far from home and potentially in a very different situation culturally and linguistically is so important, when it comes to LGBTQIA+ issues as well as the bureaucratic and everyday. I want to make sure that the society is providing a space for international students and potentially make connections with other societies for international students to reach new members and share resources.
First Year Ordinary Member
1) Ethan (he/him)
Hi, I’m Ethan - a graduate and now first year medical student, who has been involved in student representation as some kind of liberation officer for the past 4-5years. Having already spent a fair bit of time getting to know many of the LGBT+ freshers’ community at UofG this year, I’d love to be able to act as a linked voice for them to help make sure they still manage to have a great first year’s experience. This certainly wasn’t the year anyone expected, and I’m really keen to try and help make the best of what we can so everyone has a positive start to their course.
Postgraduate and Mature Students’ Officer
1) Ethan (he/him)
Hi, I’m Ethan - a graduate and now first year medical student, who has been involved in student representation as some kind of liberation officer for the past 4-5years. From completely relaunching my previous university’s LGBT+ society, to starting its first separate dedicated group for trans students, and being elected as the first trans rep for students across Scotland… my undergrad was busy! I’m really keen to bring the experiences I’ve had, and lessons I’ve learned, with me to GULGBT+ and get involved through my next 5years studying at UofG. Being a postgrad and/or mature student comes with its own unique challenges and I want to work with the committee, SRC, and wider university to make sure you are well supported in achieving all the things you want to whilst still being able to balance everything you have going on outside of university. Aside from that, something I am keen to work on during my time studying medicine, is making the curricula of healthcare subjects more inclusive of LGBT+ patient scenarios and education.
2) Pat (they/them)
Community is really important to me and has become even more so since the suspension of in-person meetings. When I came to Glasgow last year, I found that the vast majority of people I met through freshers events and societies were a good few years younger than me and it seemed like I was the only postgraduate/mature student around. I would like to continue facilitating a space for postmat students in the society and ensure that people older than the average student will feel welcome and at home in the society.

AGM Candidates
This year, due to coronavirus, we are having out AGM online. We are also taking questions online via this form, https://forms.gle/kh2gkvKt8LQdzDct7 , and answers to questions will be updated on this website.
We are still tweaking the voting but are hoping to open it on the 25th, the original planned date of our AGM. Stay tuned for updates!
We will update the candidates as more applications come in! Here’s what we have so far...
President
1) Emily T (she/her) Why do you want this position?  “ I believe I'd be very well suited to this position due to already having two years of experience on the GULGBTQ+ Committee so far, one year as First Year OM and this year as the Events Officer. In these roles I have run coffees, helped to organise large and small events, been in charge of the organisation of this years Queerfest and been involved in collaborations with the SRC and with other Societies on Campus such as the Quidditch Society, Food and Body Positivity Society, Feminist Society and the Self-Defense Society, as well as communicating with organisations and individuals outside of university. I have great time management and organisational skills that I've been applying to these positions on committee, and I feel they will be even more useful in my role as president. I'm a very friendly and welcoming individual, which I know doesn't come across so well in a written speech but hopefully to those that have met me in person and are currently talking to us on our brand new, lockdown-friendly discord channel will see it more. Hopefully I would be a very welcoming face and presence for the society and I can continue to carry on building links with other societies on campus, working with the SRC and welcoming new and old members to the society. I would also hope to continue to improve how welcoming we are to these new members, as I know that is a criticism we have had previously. As part of this I will continue our work with the BAME Society and the SRC to make our society more welcoming to people of colour in the community, who can often feel excluded from the very white scene in Glasgow and from this society as well. As well as this I will continue the committees efforts towards making the society as accessible as possible so that we are available as a space for anyone and everyone who wishes to come along to our events. I hope you vote for me because I'm really committed to making this society as good as it possibly can be for all who want it and need it as a safe space, a social space, a supporting space or just somewhere to go for a good time. I know that this society has been a real lifeline for me and for others, even through more difficult times like losing our Twitter earlier in the year, but I think that it's still a really incredible and important place for LGBTQ+ folks on campus and I'd be really grateful and honoured if you'd elect me as president so that I'd be able to carry on that legacy. “ VP Secretary
1) Will (they/them)
Why do you want this position? “  I'm running for the VP Secretary position because, in the year I've spent on committee so far as both Men's Officer and Non-Binary Officer, I have been able to put a lot into the society which I will elaborate on further in the manifesto. I believe in this position, I would be able to go above and beyond what I have already achieved, which would help the society to thrive. As for why I think I'm well suited for the role - I have successfully run 3 different coffees this year, 2 of which I introduced myself. My attendance is extremely reliable at all of our events, especially on Wednesday evenings, whether in the form of organisation, running them, or just making an awful joke to entertain. I ran two panels this year - the Trans Food and Body Positivity Panel, and the Mental Health panel - which were both extremely well attended, and successful (despite my tendency to get my own pronouns wrong!) I helped to run not only our Waverley Care bake sale, wherein we provided free HIV spot tests, but also the Trans Day of Remembrance event, and the Winter Ceilidh. I contributed to both the Ceilidh and TDOR - the former by sourcing and collecting raffle prizes, and the latter by speaking about my journey and experiences as a non-binary person. I have showcased my cross-campus skills on multiple occasions by working with individuals from the QMU, GUSA, the SRC, as well as a number of GU societies. These have included BAME, the Food and Body Positivity Society, BEAT, and Aloud. Moreover, I have contacts outside of the university - such as Category Is, and the Scottish Trans Alliance. I feel that this is important to mention, as working with others is an important part of the VP Sec role. As such, I believe this showcases my ability to handle the responsibilities and the pressures of the role. In addition to these qualities, which would benefit me in the more formal aspects of the role, I feel that I am a kind and approachable person. I am a keen attender and snack provider of our Monday lunchtime drop-ins, at which I try my best to interact with, and welcome, as many society members as possible. As for what wish to achieve in this role, my primary aim is maintaining the high standards of the previous committee. Though I might be biased, as a current committee member, I think that the committee has done an excellent job at bouncing back from previous years’ hardships. I aim to continue this in the following year, as well as continuing the work that has been done to make the society more welcoming and accessible place. This is especially prevalent in regards to our disabled, POC, and international student members. I aim to further this, and to uphold the constitutional standards of safety for our members. I want new students, as well as current students who may be unsure about joining the society, to view the society as a place will not only accept them, but that they want to be. Being elected as your next VP Sec would be an honour, and I will ensure that everything I do is the best that I can for everyone. Thank you, and vote for me!”
VP Treasurer
1) Judith she/they Why do you want this position? “Why do I want this position?  - GULGBTQ+ has given me so much, and I want to give back to it - my year as international officer has made me want to take on more responsibilities - among the positions with greater responsibilities, I believe I am most suited to the role of treasurer How am I suited to this position? - I can count (no seriously, I do stats as part of my degree) - I'm very organised and this will help handle my role both as VP and as treasurer - over the past year on committee, I have emailed a lot of societies and got in touch with the Rosey Project, so I am ready to maintain relationships with other societies and organisations as well as try to establish new ones - having been a member of the committee for a year, I have a good idea of how things run and issues we've run into this year that I would try to fix What do I hope to achieve? Considering the current situation due to the cancellation of the farewell dinner, I am aware that this puts us in a difficult situation. I am hoping to palliate to this by: - increasing the amount of fundraising by organising bake sales and fundraising events whenever the circumstances will permit - looking into fundraising that does not involve face to face contact, for instance by seeing if some of our members would be open to having art commissions to benefit the society, possibly through the use of Patreon I am aiming to raise enough funds to enable us to run our annual ceilidh next year, while still being able to raise funds for our charity of the year. I am also hoping to establish more stable contact with inclusive businesses in Glasgow, such as: - Category Is, by working with them more closely regarding our book club - both the venues included in the Scene Tour (Katie's, Polo, Delmonica's, etc) and other venues with regular LGBT-oriented nights or events such as The Flying Duck or Nice'N'Sleazy, by proposing sponsorship agreements or collaborating on events - accessible cafés around the university, by proposing sponsorship agreements or collaboration to improve the safety and accessibility of our coffee meet-ups To conclude: - I am aiming to increase fundraising and collaboration with other organisations - Again, I'm a gay who can count “
Welfare Officer
1) Enea O (he/him)
Why do you want this position? “I want this position because I have come to care about this society so much over the past year, and would give anything to keep channeling my time and passion into this society and improve its position on campus. I specifically want to help improve it to become the best and most welcoming and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ students. Over the past months as part of the committee I have proven myself as a reliable committee member and for Queerfest 2020 I had the honour to edit and curate the society zine Uniqueer, displaying art and poetry by many GULGBTQ+ members. As Welfare Officer I will set up the society family system, which I intend to do to welcome new members. As of recently though, GULGBTQ+ has also created a Discord server to keep all members in contact, and I very much intend to maintain this server permanently and see that it thrives. In regards to the safety of members, I will see that all committee members are trained in suicide and sexual violence awareness in accordance and collaboration with the SRC, Positive Minds and other student welfare societies on campus. In order to help the society grow I plan to implement an official feedback system for all members to contribute thoughts on how to improve events and accessibility. Protecting and providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ students is my top priority. Vote for me :)”
2) Orla She/They
Why do you want this position? “ I am the current welfare officer for the figure skating society and have really enjoyed it, I feel I am well suited for people to come and talk to if they need it whether it be good or bad news. I'd like to join the GULGBTQ+ committee this year, as the society has helped me a lot. Having found people who understood the complex feelings you can have regarding your sexuality and gender; it made me feel a lot more comfortable with myself. And I would love to give back. I would like to help maintain a safe space on campus, especially given the times, and just be a grounding point for people to come to in times of need. I also make really good cakes, and cake can make pretty much anything better. “
Events Officer
1) Valentine they/them
Why do you want this position? “ I want to continue the amazing work Emily T has done this year on events! I want to think of various ways for us to advertise our fundraising events, particularly Launch Night and Queerfest. As well as this, I want to work with other societies and student unions to collaborate on various fundraising events. I also want to create specific events, such as bringing back the conversation about trans swimming which was incredibly successful a couple of years back. I also want to focus on making the society more accessible, which includes events we host, including (but not limited to) autism friendly events, maybe more online events for those with limited mobility, and working towards finding people who could interpret or translate certain events. I also want to acknowledge constructive criticism we've received in the past and try to make events feel welcoming, particularly to people of colour, disabled people, transfeminine people etc.”
2) Sol they/them
Why do you want this position? “ I would want to continue the great work that has been done to reform and adapt our events to make them accessable and as intersectional as possible. I would want to increase the representation and recognition of migrants and international students. I would want to particularly focus on those who are diasporas and whose identity is mixed or conflicted. This is because, due to my own experience, I have found it hard to have discussions around being LGBTQ and from two conflicting cultures. I would do this by ideally creating a consistent outlet for diasporic students in the form of either panels, an inclusion in the annual Queerfest day or a specific focus from the zine. Linked to this I would like to work with societies like BAME to increase the lacking accessibility of our events to people of colour. I would do this by taking advice from and including people of colour in the organising processes around all events. However I would like to target specific large events such as Queerfest, Launch Night and meet and greets. This is because these are some of the society's largest events and so would gain the most from people of colour being included in the discussion around how to make our society more accessible. To add I have been on committee the previous year as the bisexual/pansexual officer and so have an understanding of how the society's events are structured and run. While the events officer position is distinct there is overlap with my previous position. This comes in the form of organisation and managing people. For bi/pan officer I was in charge of organising, and running biweekly coffees. Most importantly I was also in charge of helping create a relaxed and positive atmosphere at the coffees, which requires people management and personal awareness skills. In all I would like to use the position of events officer to create more of a space for diasporic students to add another angle to the ongoing discussion of being LGBTQ. In addition, I would like to help make up for our lacking accessibility to people of colour by including them in the organisation of the society's events. Thereby empowering them to make significant decisions that increase the beautiful intersections of this society. “
Women’s Officer
1) Fatima S she/her
Why do you want this position? “ hi i am a first year history/economics student who is  a passionate feminist. Over the past year i have been involved with the GU feminist society and i also am a QMU board member. It has always been my priority to ensure the welfare of all especially women.”
2) Judith she/they
Why do you want this position? “ Why do I want this position? - GULGBTQ+ has given me so much, and I want to give back to it - I feel very strongly about being woman-aligned and a lesbian How am I suited to this position? - during my year as international officer, I gained experience running coffees and it is something I will happily keep doing - over the past year on committee, I have emailed a lot of societies and got in touch with the Rosey Project, so I am ready to maintain relationships with other societies and organisations as well as try to establish new ones - having been a member of the committee for a year, I have a good idea of how things run What do I hope to achieve? - I hope to collaborate more with the feminist and women-specific societies on campus - I would like to work with the Rosey Project in raising awareness for available support networks for survivors of abuse, having self-care and mental health-oriented workshops, and developing LGBT-specific support systems”
3) Ursula she/her
Why do you want this position? “ I have found my involvement with the GULGBT+ society to be a very positive and beneficial experience over the past two years at Glasgow. I have met so many wonderful people, some of which are now close friends who have then introduced me to many other now close friends (because all the gays know each other!). Having like-minded friends is something I longed for during my teenage years and I’m beyond grateful for the society in helping that dream become a reality. I’ve gained so much confidence from this and feel it’s my duty to help create that experience for others in a similar situation.  I’ve attended many events that have formed memories to last a lifetime. The opportunity to play a greater role on Wednesday evenings and running women’s coffee would be very exciting. I’m also quite partial to a night out in Polo so would be available for chauffeuring (not literally -please DON’T drink and drive) and as a general friendly face in the crowd. I would, therefore, like to take a more active role in the society in the coming academic year to continue providing a safe, supportive and fun space with my peers in the hopes that other uni students can have an equally (if not more *winky face*) amazing experience!!”
4) Anest ‘Ani’ Williams she/her
Why do you want this position? “  I'm suited to this position due to me being a woman. I consider attending GULGBTQ+'s many events this past academic year to be the highlights of my second year, and I want to give back to Glasgow Uni's LGBTQ+ community by providing other individuals with the same joy. I hope to be someone that all women of the community could speak to in a time of need, in the coffee hours, at events, or at any other time. I would love to represent the women of our community on GULGBTQ+'s committee.”
5) Lauren she/her
Why do you want this position?  “ As a member of the GULGBTQ+ society in my first year of university, I found a great sense of inclusivity and community within the events I attended, and through the people I met. The idea of being able to continue my involvement within the society as an officer would not only be an honour, but something I would take on with great passion and vigour. The role of women’s officer within the GULGBTQ+ society is such an essential role, the issues dealt within the society surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity encapsulating also the issues dealt with by ALL women, may that be cisgendered, trans or nonbinary folk. I feel very strongly about women’s rights and issues we face, and would hope to make a welcoming and safe space for any women within the society, and be a friendly face for all members, whether it is to do with a sensitive subject or just for a chat! I have no previous experience as an officer within the society, but we all need to start somewhere, and I think this would be the perfect place to begin as an officer to all the amazing LGBTQ+ women out there!”
Men’s Officer
1) Sanskar R he/him
Why do you want this position? “I am Sanskar from India. I feel that POC and Asians are not represented enough in the society. Not just that, I feel that a lot of events the society is running isn't reaching the right crowd. I would like to contribute in whatever way possible to help change that and be able to learn and grow in the process.”
2) Jack L he/him
Why do you want this position?  “ I have a keen interest in raising awareness about men's health and several ideas on how to do so. Other than that, I want to bring people together in nice and easy ways so that they can, if new to the community, find their feet. (Completely honest moment, if another person runs for this position, maybe consider putting them first. I'm now one of the string managers for the Kelvin Ensemble and I'll be in final year and I won't have a proper abundance of time. Perhaps if another candidate wants to work together. I also have many ideas on joint events that could happen)”
Trans Officer
1) Valentine they/them
Why do you want this position? “ I was nonbinary officer year before last and I believe I took to the roll quite well. I fully came out as nonbinary last year, and since have done a lot of research into the uni's procedures for name changes, as well as trying to deal with Sandyford etc. Therefore I believe I would be a great resource (as well as a creator of great resources!! wink wink trans zine wink wink) for those who have just come to terms with being transgender / transitioning. I would love to work with the student unions to work on being inclusive to trans and nonbinary folks, as well as more widespread campaigning about these things where members of the society think it's important. I also aim to raise the voices of those who are often spoken over within our community, being inclusive of trans women, disabled trans people, trans pic, etc.”
2) Eden it/its
Why do you want this position?  “ I want to give back a little to this society, as it's been so good for me over my first year. I try to be a friendly face that people can talk to, be it about specifically transition-related topics (I don't pretend to be an expert, but I've been doing this for a while!) or just everyday things. Given the current trans healthcare crisis, informing people about our options and working together is critical - I've done work spreading awareness and information about doing self-med HRT safely before and I'd be happy to do it again, for example, and I know enough people doing this kind of work to be able to point people in the right direction for questions I don't know much about.”
3) Aster they/them
Why do you want this position?  “ I am running to be your next Trans Officer. I want to do this because being trans is a very important part of my identity, and I think this would be a great opportunity to be able to represent my fellow trans folk here at Glasgow Uni, and even the wider Glasgow community as well as campaign on trans and non binary related issues. I am excited to work on committee again, and in this role closely with the Non-Binary Officer, as I enjoy collaborating with others, so I will work to build and maintain good working relationships with other members of committee. Also I’m a very sociable person, so I’m confident I can make people feel very welcome at society events. I am very excited about the opportunity to run an identity coffee again, two years ago I ran Gay Men’s Coffee (despite not actually being gay or a man 👀) so I already have experience with this. Again I’m a very sociable person and thrive in large groups (Trans and Non-Binary Coffee often has one of the biggest attendances) and so I am confident that I will be able to ensure the inclusion of anyone who joins the coffee so that they feel welcome. I am also excited to take opportunities to co-run events, such as Trans and Non-Binary 101 and of course working with the Events Coordinator for events surrounding Trans Day of Remembrance. I’d also be happy to work with the Campaigns Officer to do the Pronoun Pledge with the unions and some societies on campus if needed (as well as any other campaigns that the society will be running or involved with). For those of you who have met me, you’ll know I am a very confident, theatrical (and I’d hope fabulous) person so I would have absolutely no issue speaking in front of a large group of people (I’m a theatre student, it’s pretty much all I can do). In closing, I think I’d be a great addition to committee because this society is such an important part of my life here at uni, and so I will dedicate so much time and energy to this role, and in general just helping any way I can to making this society as great as it can be. Hopefully this dedication has been reflected in my recent win as GULGBTQ+ Keenest Member 2020.”
4) Ollie S he/him
Why do you want this position?  “ Moving away from my safe, accepting bubble at home to come to Glasgow University was a terrifying experience for me, as I did not have the confidence to stick up for my gender identity and was scared of any transphobia I could've encountered. However, the GULGBT+ society immediately made me feel welcomed and safe and allowed me to create a new home away from home. I have met inspiring people that have showed me that I am definitely not alone in the trans experience and this has given me a lot more self confidence and allowed me to accept who I am. I would absolutely love to take on this position, to be there for scared freshers like I was and to be a person to turn to for those struggling with trans issues. I am very early on in my transition and I very much feel the pain of long waiting lists and the frustration of being misgendered and have found many ways to cope with such problems that I would love to share with others that may be tackling similar obstacles. I think the representation of pre-transition trans people is so important as it enables people to see how everyone's journey is different and everyone is going at their own pace. I would be honoured to host Trans & Nonbinary Coffee and would love sharing my knowledge and the things I've learned from my experience, but also, would love to learn from others and their experiences. I am so excited for my second year as part of this society and really hope to gain a leading role here.”
Postgraduate and Mature Student’s Officer
1) Andrei he/him/they/whatever
Why do you want this position?  “ Hey Andrei, you're queer and also old. You should run for Post/Mat officer" - Literally everyone for the past couple of months. I've had the entire postmat experience, after starting my undergrad at the tender age of 23 I am familiar with the unique stresses involved in adapting to academic life while also integrating with peers who are almost generationally different from oneself (as it says on my LinkedIn "Down With the Kids"). Five years and a lot of hard lessons later I find myself having grown in experience and empathy, and I would find it a privelage to be able to support any member of the society in any way possible. I'd like to say that I'd bring the benefit of wisdom and maturity to committee meetings but to be honest I'll probably just end up bringing sarcasm and a strong tie game. However, if you're looking for a warm body with a pulse that can still be an absolute menace in Polo then I may be the human you're looking for. My major objectives if elected: Building bridges with GUSA Getting freshers home safely Biting Will Getting distracted by cats... Andrei for Post/Mat officer: "Because someone has to" “
Campaigns Officer
1) Gwen she/her
Why do you want this position? As campaigns officer for this last half year, I've tried my hardest to push the society members to fill in the Gender Recognition Act draft reform consultation. When the Scottish Government responds I would like to either organise for them to improve the bill or (if they have already improved it) get society members to lobby their MSPs to back the improved bill. While we wait for that response, I will focus on tackling transphobia on campus, putting together a cross-party campus pronoun pledge (the SNP, Labour, and Green clubs have already responded positively). I would like to continue our work with Hidayah and other charities. Our society has sadly seen a nasty increase in transphobia, particularly with awful messages left on doors to toilets. As campaigns officer, I will try and create a "Hear it from us first" campaign. It's likely that transphobia will get out regardless of what we do, but by making sure people hear our side first we will be able to make the campus are more sympathetic place. I also want to lead a discussion in the society and with local GPs and trans organisations about the future of trans medicine. While the current Gender Identity Clinic system is clearly underfunded, it is not clear if it should be funded further, or if responsibility for prescriptions should be the job of GPs. In line with my view of the society as "political, but not partisan" if we can agree on a position or even just start a conversation, we will be in a better place to lobby the support of politicians and advocacy groups. 2) Valentine they/them
Why do you want this position? “ In my previous roles on committee (nonbinary / bi/pan) I have been involved in campaigns including meetings with previous Charities of the year we have chosen and thinking about fundraising opportunities, as well as presenting many pronoun pledges. I plan on continuing what I have already done, as well as picking up on other campaigns and fundraising opportunities, for example a more widespread awareness of transphobia on campus and how to prevent this, as well as creating resources of safe places for lgbtq+ people. For fundraising, I want to help advertise our launch night better, as well as creating more communication between the student unions to possibly collaborate with us for fundraising events / nights out / etc.”
Communications and Technology Officer
1) Summer they/she
Why do you want this position?  “I am running for the position of Communications and Technology Officer because I love this society, want to help it and have the skills needed to help out in this position. As last year's ComTech officer I am familiar with everything that keeps the GULGBTQ+ committee running behind the scenes - as such, I can help make the handover to the new committee smooth and painless and ensure everything keeps running. Last year I helped streamline some of the systems we use which helped reduce complexity and running costs for the society. Additionally, there were some projects for the committee that I did not finish last year due to time and mental health (e.g. an updated website) which if I am reelected I will endeavor to complete.”
2) Belinda she/her
Why do you want this position?  “ As a nervous fresher this past year, the only society I wasn't afraid to take part in was the GULGBTQ+ society. Now that I'm part of this big 'ol family, I'd love to be able to give something back. I, like many others, rely heavily on emails and social media to keep up with whateverthef*ck is going on. I hope that my skills as a seasoned introvert will help me to communicate society events in a way that can reach and encourage every member of our society to join in and feel welcomed and included. My inexplicable need to be organised will almost certainly be useful too I suppose (hit me up with any pronouns, names or other changes that need to be made on the system and I'll get on it ASAP). I hope this role will allow me to contribute to this amazing society, whilst I get to keep being an introvert in my natural habitat, hidden behind a computer screen (and going to events too of course). Keep smiling, be gay and do crime ~ your local comp sci sapphic ace”
First Year Ordinary Member
1) Meris she/her
Why do you want this position?  “Hi I’m Meris (she/her) and I’m running for First Year Ordinary Member. In the past months I’ve attended almost every Freshers’ coffee and actively helped out as much as I could. I wish to continue Enea’s work within the society, representing all the first year students and freshers at the university. Being a fresher at the start of last term and completely new to Glasgow, I was more than a little lost, but GULGBTQ+ has helped me find a community where I feel safe and at home. As an officer, I would like to ensure the safety of First Year Students within the society and a safe space for them to open up and/or listen to others’ experiences. I believe that First Year Students often find it hard to feel welcome in spaces where people seem to already know each other really well and I wish to make sure every new member feels welcomed and cared for like everyone else!”
Bi/Pan Officer
1) Bethany she/them
Why do you want this position? “ I want to provide a safe space for bi and Pan people like they deserve! I would be suited to this position because I always try my best to be kind to everyone and I try to be social. I always go to the Bi coffee’s and I’m close friends with Sol so I will have a lot of useful guidance. This society means a lot to me in regards to me accepting myself and I’d like to help it do the same for others!”
2) Valentine they/them
Why do you want this position? “I was bi/pan officer briefly last year before leaving to take role as secretary in another society. Although I wasn't in the role for a long time, I feel I achieved a lot and would like to continue this and campaign to create awareness on different ways to be bisexual, to combat biphobia within the LGBTQ+ community and outwith, and to raise the voices of bisexual/pansexual people who are often silenced.”
3) Aster they/them
Why do you want this position? “I’m running to be your next Bi/Pan Officer. This role specifically interests me because being pansexual is such an important and fundamental part of my identity, and one I struggled with  for a while, trying to fit in as either a heterosexual or homosexual, trying to make myself ‘choose a side’, having my sexuality erased both externally and internally. Going through this, I know how important Bi and Pan visibility is and why I want to be able to represent this community in both the society, and across the university. I am excited to take the opportunity to once again run an identity coffee (I ran Gay Men’s Coffee 2 years ago, despite not being gay or a man), so I have experience doing this. However, Bi/Pan Coffee is possibly the most attended identity coffee, which, if elected, I would be running mostly single handedly. I have utmost confidence that I can handle this, as I am a very sociable and friendly person, and thrive amongst large groups of people, so I will have no issue in making sure everyone feels both welcome and included. I am also excited to be able to run events, for instance I will certainly want to do something to mark the occasions of both Bisexual and Pansexual Days of Visibility, as I said earlier how important visibility is to our community. I was also like to do something around the awareness of non-monoromantic identities as I feel this is something that is often ignored or looked over, and again, visibility is important for all of these identities. Finally, I think I’d be a good committee member in general as I’m a good team worker, and will work to build and maintain good working relationships with other committee members, which will be greatly important when working with 15 other people. The society is also a largely important part of my life, hopefully as reflected by my recent win as GULGBTQ+ Keenest Member, and so you can be assured that I will dedicate so much time and energy both into this role, and to helping make this society as great as it can be.”
4) Emrys they/them
Why do you want this position?    “ * I’ve been a very active member of the LGBTQ+ community for a few years now - I’ve made countless social media posts with information about all kinds of LGBTQ+ related things, promoting awareness days/weeks and making it known that I’m always happy to have conversations about LGBTQ+ things and answer any questions - as I know personally how important it is to have all the right information available to help you, and to have people to talk to about it - I’ve made efforts offline as well to raise awareness for both bi/pan specific issues and other LGBTQ+ related issues, as I was very involved with my sixth form’s LGBTQ+ society and helped run events, and have taken the time to answer people’s questions about bi/pan issues * I have already had experience as GULGBTQ+’s Ace/Aro officer for about 5/6 months - I gave a presentation for Ace Awareness Week in October - I made an informative video about aromanticism and shared it on our social media accounts for Aromantic Awareness Week in February - I have helped run many of GULGBTQ+’s main events throughout the year so far - I have a good track record of attendance to GULGBTQ+’s main events * if I was elected for Bi/Pan officer - I would continue with the work and effort I have already put in to this society, making sure that bi and pan voices are heard and uplifted - I would work to combat biphobia and panphobia wherever I see it - whether it’s outside the LGBTQ+ community or from within - to raise awareness and debunk the myths about bisexuality/biromanticism and pansexuality/panromanticism to help people better understand orientations that are often erased - I’ve spent the last few years struggling to figure out if I really am bi(romantic), and being a part of this society has helped me understand and accept that I am, which I will always be grateful for - so I want to give back to the society, and help others who may be similarly questioning! - I like to think that I am a very empathetic person, a good listener and very open-minded, so I will always be open to chat for anyone who has questions about LGBTQ+ issues, or needs a shoulder to lean on!”
5) Anest ‘Ani’ Williams she/her
Why do you want this position?  “ Why do you want this position? - Please write a short paragraph about how you would be suited to this position and what you would hope to achieve. I'm suited to this position due to my being a bi/pan individual. I consider attending GULGBTQ+'s many events this past academic year to be the highlights of my second year, and I want to give back to Glasgow Uni's LGBTQ+ community by providing other individuals with the same joy. I hope to be someone that other bi/pan people could speak to in a time of need, in the coffee hours, at events, or at any other time. I would love to represent bi/pan people on GULGBTQ+'s committee.”
6) Lauren she/her
Why do you want this position? “ As a member of the GULGBTQ+ society in my first year of university, I found a great sense of inclusivity and community within the events I attended, and through the people I met. Going into my second year I would love to help introduce new and old members into the society, creating a welcoming and safe space for Bi/Pan folks, and of course all other members. Stigma around Bi/Pan folks within the LGBTQ+ community is something that needs to be discussed, and a light needs to be shone on. Bi and Pansexual folks often feel invalid or excluded within the community, this is not the case and I would love to help any members who feel this way if I were to be elected as Bi/Pan officer! I currently don’t have any experience as a previous officer within the society, but I think this would be a great place to start my journey. The society has already helped me accept myself more and feel a sense of belonging within the university, and the idea of being able to create that sense of belonging for other members, whether Bi/Pan or not, would be amazing!”
International Students’ Officer
1) Fatima S she/her
Why do you want this position? “ hi i am a first year history/economics student who is from India. i want to be the international officer because i truly believe i can help international students, because i understand how difficult it is to accept our own identity when all our lives we have lived in a society who considers it a taboo. Coming from a diverse background i can bring a fresh perspective to this society and really make a difference for all international student members.”
Asexual and Aromantic Officer
1) Emrys they/them
Why do you want this position?  “* I’ve been an active member of the ace community for a few years now - I’ve made many social media posts with information about asexuality for LGBTQ+ events throughout the year (but especially for Asexual Awareness Week), because I personally understand the importance of having the right information available wherever possible - especially for an identity that is less known than others and is widely misunderstood - as well as online, I’ve made efforts offline to raise awareness for asexuality (and aromanticism) - I’ve made it known that I am always happy to have a conversation about it, and explain to people anything they don’t understand. At my sixth form, I often helped run the weekly LGBTQ+ society meet up, and held a presentation for Asexual Awareness Week to inform my fellow students * I have already had experience as GULGBTQ+’s Ace/Aro officer for about 5/6 months - I gave a presentation for Ace Awareness Week in October - I made an informative video about aromanticism and shared it on our social media accounts for Aromantic Awareness Week in February - I have helped run many of GULGBTQ+’s main events throughout the year so far - I have a good track record of attendance to GULGBTQ+’s main events * if I was re-elected for Ace/Aro officer - I would continue with the work and effort I have already put in to this society, making sure that ace and aro voices are heard and uplifted - I like to think that I am a very empathetic person, a good listener and very open-minded, so I will always be open to chat for anyone who has questions about asexuality or aromanticism, or other LGBTQ+ issues, or needs a shoulder to lean on!”
Nonbinary Officer
1) Valentine they/them
Why do you want this position? “ I was nonbinary officer year before last and I believe I took to the roll quite well. I fully came out as nonbinary last year, and since have done a lot of research into the uni's procedures for name changes, as well as trying to deal with Sandyford etc. Therefore I believe I would be a great resource (as well as a creator of great resources!! wink wink trans zine wink wink) for those who have just come to terms with being nonbinary / transitioning. I would love to work with the student unions to work on being inclusive to trans and nonbinary folks, as well as more widespread campaigning about these things where members of the society think it's important.
“ I’m running to be your Non-Binary Officer for the coming year because I am excited to work on committee again, and specifically in this role, in close collaboration with the Trans and Welfare Officers. I enjoy working and collaborating with others since I’m a very sociable person, which will be very useful, as in committee I’d be working with 15 other people, so it’s important to build and keep good working relationships with everyone. This role specifically interests me as being non-binary and genderfluid is such an important and fundamental part of my identity, which I struggled to realise and accept for so long, so now I want to burst out of the closet and represent my fellow enbies in Glasgow Uni and well as campaign for trans and non-binary related causes.
4) Summer they/she
Why do you want this position? “ This society means a lot to me, in large part because it has been a massive part of helping me to explore and understand my gender identity. I want to be able to help more people through their own process of discovery as the Non-Binary Officer. If elected I intend to continue to help raise awareness of issues affecting non-binary people as well as make sure that our non-binary spaces are open and inclusive. I know that many people when first questioning their gender identity worry about not being perceived as "non-binary enough" (I personally did not attend many events for a while because of this) and so want to make sure all of our non-binary events and resources are as open as possible and not intimidating for newcomers.”

Meet the Committee 2019/20
We have 16 committee members who work together to run the society:
1. President: Maddy, She/her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, my name's Maddy, I use she/her pronouns, and I'm the current president of gulgbtq+! I'm a third year medical student and I was the previous welfare officer. I spend most of my time hanging out with my rat, hiding in the library, and doing things with gulgbtq+. I'm a chatty gal and I love meeting new people, so feel free to scream with me about Troye Sivan/Hayley Kiyoko/Charli XCX anytime.
If you have any questions or ideas, hit me up! I'm very excited to be a part of the society this year and engage with all our members ❤
2. VP Secretary: Quinn, He/Him, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi I'm Quinn and I am your secretary this year for GULGBTQ+. I am an economic and social history student who has been going to GULGBTQ+ events since my first moment in Glasgow. I enjoy poetry, comedy and films, and dogs, dogs are good. Can't wait to see you at events! If you ever want to message myself or the committee with any questions, suggestions or comments I can be reached at [email protected], see you soon!
3. Treasurer: Emily B, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi! I’m Emily, the new VP Treasurer! I’m 21, use she/her pronouns, and am proudly bisexual. I’m currently in 4th year, studying history (dissertation time, yikes!) I’ve been part of the society over the last year, and it’s been one of the best parts of my university experience. I’ve made new friends, increased my self-confidence, and had tons of good gay times! Outside of the society, I enjoy going to gigs, caring for my many houseplants, and taking too many naps. I’m excited for my role on committee this year, although you know what they say about gays and maths! I’m constantly on social media, so feel free to drop me a bell if you have any questions or queries! I’m on twitter @_emilybarton. Hope to see you at an event soon :-)
4. Welfare: Bianca, She/he, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hello! My name is Bianca and I'm the Welfare Officer of GULGBTQ+. I'm a small twenty-year-old Italian and I am a third year English Language & Linguistics and Theatre Studies student. I spend most of my free time reading, crying over Shakespeare, or bingeing the latest gay shows on Netflix, and the rare times I decide to go outside and try sports I enjoy horse riding and ice skating. I'm a gryffindor and I'm very excited to be back on committee this year, so feel free to drop me an e-mail for anything you might need!
5. Events: Emily T, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! My name's Emily (Tunstall) and this year I'm really excited to be the Events Coordinator for GULGBTQ+! I'm a second year Psychology Student and in my free time I like drawing, painting, making new friends, and spending time with this society. ❤
Please feel free to say hi to me online or in person, I will almost always be wearing my Docs and at least one badge, be it on my bag or my denim jacket, if you need help recognising me. I'm always open for a good chat, to offer some advice, or if you just need some directions around Uni! I would really love to see you at our events on a Wednesday, or at one of our coffees during the week. 🌈🌈🌈
6. Women’s: Claire, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I'm Claire, and I'm your women's officer! I'm a third year in Microbiology. Ask me about worms. Sometimes I think I'm not a stereotype but then I remember I have two cats, a Hozier-centric Spotify, and build furniture for a hobby.
I'm so excited for another great year! One of the things I love about this society is that it's an inclusive space for all women, and I want to make everyone feel welcome. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns (or just want to chat) feel free to shoot me a message!
8. Trans: Cassidy, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hey, I'm Cassidy (they/them) the new Trans officer! I'm 20 and a third year studying Classics and History. I'm a nonbinary trans woman and I'm here to represent trans people and help people with gender related things generally 🙂
Aside from being gender, I am a roller skating gamer who makes stuffed toys and loves history more than life itself. I'm looking forward to running coffee and having a great year with everyone 🙂
9. Postgraduate and Mature Students: Kyle, He/Him, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hey, hi, hello! I’m Kyle, a postgraduate Astrophysics student who’ll be your first PostMat Officer for this year! Avid Karaoke Fan and Polo R&B Room Resident, I’ll usually be found out and about when I’m not studying (procrastinating). My aim for the time that I’m here is to try and get more LGBTQ+ Postgraduate and Mature students involved with GULGBTQ+.
I haven’t been in Glasgow for very long, so I’m excited to share the experience of things like Glasgow Pride with you all! I’m also hoping to run some smaller gatherings (like the current PostMat Coffees) over the summer for those of us who will need a break from our dissertations. If any PostMat students have ideas to share or any concerns to raise, please don’t be afraid to email.
10. Campaigns: Jo, They/He, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I’m Jo and I’m your Campaigns Officer! I’m a postgraduate research student in English Language & Linguistics with a particular love for all things to do with LGBTQ+ linguistics. I’m a big fan of knitting, baking, indoor bouldering and playing D&D, and I’m also involved with the English Language & Linguistics Society. I was Campaigns Officer the year before last in 2017/2018, but I just couldn’t stay away, and now I’m back for some more campaigning!
As Campaigns Officer, my role is to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues in the society, on campus, and in the wider world. In the past, I’ve helped run campaigns to increase awareness of trans people on campus and to encourage local hairdressers and barbers to be inclusive of their LGBTQ+ customers. This year, I hope to revitalise these campaigns and work with our other officers and members of the society to create some exciting new ones!
Please feel free to contact me if you’d like to get involved in campaigning or have any ideas that you’d like to share with me!
11. Communications and Technology: Summer, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi, I’m Summer and I’m the Communications and Technology Officer for the year! I’m a 5th year computing science student (yes, that kind of transfem!) so you’ll frequently find me programming, tinkering with Linux or providing tech support for someone. When I’m not doing that I’ll probably be knitting, playing video games, running tabletop rpgs or watching martial arts movies (or talking about how I don't have time for any of the above)!
As the recently renamed Communications and Technology officer (formerly Publicity) I'm mostly here for you to tell me why the website or mailing list doesn't work, so feel free to get in touch with any complaints and/or constructive criticisms. I hope to have a great year with you all, hopefully with a better website!
12: First Year Ordinary Member: Jenny, She/Her, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hiya!  I’m Jenny and I’m the interim first year representative on the GULGBTQ+ committee.  I’m going into second year studying biomedical engineering and in my free time I enjoy drawing, making soup, and loving my gf.  I met wonderful friends and made loads of good gay memories through the society in my first year and am excited to help as many freshers as possible join in on the fun this year!  I’m passionate about creating a loving and accepting community for all LGBTQ+ students, especially new ones, since I know how hard it can be to settle in.  If you’re a fresher and have any ideas, questions, or just want to make a new friend, please don’t hesitate to send me an email!
13: Bi/Pan: Valentine, They/ve, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi I'm Niamh, you may recognise me as last year's nonbinary officer! I use they/them pronouns, I'm 20 and a 3rd year psychology student. This'll be my 3rd year in the society and I love it with my whole heart. If you have any issues feel free to email me or message me on Facebook (Niamh Conlan). My first and foremost want is for those coming to the society and bi events to feel comfortable and welcomed!
When I'm not being a disaster bisexual I'm dying my hair, applying clown makeup, dancing to new wave or doing kendo. I'm excited to meet you all and hope to have a great year with everyone!
14. International Students: Judith, She/they, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hi! I’m Judith, I’ve been described as “the lesbianest person I know” by my flatmate and if you ask me where I’m from, I’m likely to name three countries, so I guess it makes sense that I’d be your international officer. I’m a third year psychology and statistics student who likes to avoid studying by going swordfighting (yes, I own an actual sword, but don’t worry, I only use it against transphobes) or putting on facepaint before a metal gig. But don’t get the wrong impression, I’m actually a very quiet person who’s always there to listen or give you advice. Feel free to message me on Facebook (Judith AN), send me an email or just come talk to me during the international coffees I’ll be running!
15. Aromantic and Asexual: Lo, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Hello! I’m Leilo (they/them), 20, and happy to be the ace/aro officer! My job is to represent people who are (or are questioning if they are) on the spectrums of being aromantic or asexual, so feel free to email me! As ace/aro officer I host biweekly coffees so aros, aces, and those who are questioning, can come together.
I’m a second year Maths student but will probably add philosophy as my second main subject. Aside from sitting over Math problems for way longer than seems necessary, you will find me writing, working out, or philosophising about bdsm.
16: Non-binary: Robyn, They/Them, [email protected]
Tumblr media
Salut! I’m Robyn and I’m the Non-Binary Officer. I’m a 2nd Year French/History student and I was born in Glasgow - I’m like a rare pokemon. I only resurrect during Eurovision season and have a hoard of sunglasses. And I’m a massive comic book nerd (yes I am Batman’s sidekick on the side).
I’m always down for a chat and feel free to DM me with anything from issues, to memes! I’m very excited to be your Non-Binary boi this year!!
