finn.

                            a  small  nod  ,    glad  he  gave  the  suggestion  .    his  mind  had  been  clouded  with  thoughts  of  bonnie’s  family  —   not  to  mention  fern —   ever  since  they  crashed  his  birthday  party  .    naturally  ,    instinct  was  to  suspect  them  first  .    it  was  only  logical  !

                           ❝      pretty  sure  bmo  knows  where  he’s  hiding  out  .      ❞    to  think  he  hadn’t  come  to  that  line  of  thought  sooner —   he  could’ve  struck  much  earlier  .    though  ,    it  was  likely  better  he didn’t  .    who  knows  what  kind  of  advanced  weaponry  or  machines  he’d  have  guarding  the  place  ?    ❝      we  should  head  out  as  soon  as  possible  .      ❞    while  it  would  be  nice  to  be  better  prepared  for  what  awaited  the  pair  ,    it  wasn’t  in  finn’s  nature  to  leave  the  candy  citizens  to  suffer  even  longer  .

            this is one of those time’s that she’s more grateful than normal for finn and his friends.    they’re always there for her in her time of need    --    what good friends they are    --    where would she be without them ?

                         ❝   right,   ❞    she says affirmatively,    pausing only to bat a fist into her empty palm.    heading out soon is very possible and she’s all for it,    but there’s a moment taking for her to run through a mental checklist of things that could go wrong and things she can do to prevent them.    she’ll allow an early departure if only to shorten the candy people’s pain.    ❝   but first,    we should grab some stuff from my lab    --    just in case.    i don’t want gumbald or the rest of the family donking us up too bad.   ❞

                 “A Kingdom of Candy?  So everyone who lives there is made of candy?!”  The Diopside gasped, wonder in her eyes.  After the Princess voiced another question, Black Star shook her head “no.. never heard of Ooo.  I’m from the Prime Kindergarten.”

Oh, he could name a few things Finn had done right off the top of his head. Enough that the whole ‘accident’ claim seemed more doubtful every day.

“It’s long since stopped being about petty jealousy.”

            who cares about finn ?    who cares about finn ?    she does,    that’s who.    but fern has a point.    finn seems to be the topic whenever fern comes around.    must get tiring.    she bites her lip,    face still a bit tense,    but softens a little bit.    it’s the least she can do.

                             ❝      of  course  .      ❞   loyalty  to  the  candy  kingdom  was  never  in  question  —    the  citizens  were  like  a  second  family  ,    the  land  of  sugar  another  home  .    what  type  of  knight  would  he  be  if  he  didn’t  abolish  every  crisis  to  face  the  sweet  people  ?

              princess instincts kicked in long ago,    leaving bonnibel to endlessly and tirelessly attempt to find out just what exactly is causing this problem.    it could be a number of things    --    magic biz and tech biz are definitely plausible causes    --    but she’s not seeing a prime suspect...    until the human mentions uncle gumbald.

              shoot.    she forgot about uncle gumbald.

                         ❝   yeah,    it definitely might be gumbald,   ❞    she says.    in all honesty,    this is getting to her more than she lets on.    her citizens being in disarray is paining,    but on the other hand,    this might actually let her truly hang out with finn for once.    a rare occurence to see the silver lining.    bonnie hums briefly,    then nods her head.    ❝   yeah...    yeah.    that guy’s stupid with power.    if we can find him,    i bet we could stop all this crazy junk happening with the candy people.   ❞

“Hm hm, is that so? All good things, I hope, Princess,” She had to admit to herself, she sorta missed Bubblegum hosting Wizard Tournament every year, even though Huntress herself never got to personally know her.

“Say, he didn’t tell you anything…. too personal, did he?” Not that Finn even really knew anything personal about her, other than they both shared a mutual attraction in each other.

                        ❝   yes,    and yes.    it’s definitely all good things.    i wouldn’t worry about that if i were you.   ❞   the answer is followed by a short giggle and a pristine smile.    it’s true    --    as far as she’s concerned,    finn’s never said a negative thing about hw.    in fact,    positivity is all he speaks of when it comes to her.    she doesn’t admit it,    but bonnibel might even feel a lick of jealousy.

            ...oh.    right.    finn DID kinda murder fern at some point,    didn’t he ?    but other than that,    bubblegum can’t think of a time where finn ever did anything to him.    ( not on purpose,    at least. )

            the word  ‘ BRIGHTENING ‘  sends her stomach lurching;    she’s halfway disgusted by the mannerisms of this strange man.    who the heck gives him the right to mess with her candy people and then act like it’s nothing ?    it’s insulting at best.

            bonnibel’s brows furrow over her eyes as she shoots him an agitated look     --     she doesn’t have TIME for this.    there are so many better things she could be doing instead of dealing with some messed up dude who keeps bugging her people.    bubblegum arms fold across eachother as she holds back a grumble.    the least she can do is stay professional.    keep your cool,    bonnie.
