Look, if an actor of a CANON aro/ace character comes out and says they're (the character) not aro/ace for no other reason then they're shipping them with someone, that's aphobia.

That is pure erasure of a canon aro/ace character and is far far far worse than anything any regular shipper can do.

As always, please don't ship aro/ace characters and if you must ship them, at least do so in a QPR or while still addressing their aro/ace identity.

Reading Homer's depiction of Odysseus is so funny to me because it's literally just him

A.) trying to get across how attractive this man is. He wants you to know this man was hot and that everyone wants him. Homer's crush on Odysseus stays funny, he didn't have to describe him like that and have others speak about him like that constantly.

B.) that he's not a good person. He's materialistic and prideful beyond anything, he's a liar, a cheat, a trickster. He'll smile to your face while stabbing you in the back. He'll do anything to survive and get home. But then also goes out of his way to point out that he's a good and loving father and would never willingly cheat on his wife. Also he's loyal to his friends (Circe's Island being a great example). But those are his only redeeming traits. Homer really said "he's such a bad person but he's got some good qualities so let's ignore the red flags"
