"C'mon Patti," she beckoned, getting the younger Thompson sister to follow along.
"We should just try to rob him again."
"No, Patti... Not yet at least," she muttered softly. Trying anything right now, in Death City wasn't a great idea. If they tried anything in broad daylight, it was over for them, especially with the bracelets they'd have to wear, despite the younger grim reaper's protesting of this.
The bracelets were made with a tracker in them, and there was an alarm that would go off if they got too far from the Academy or Gallows Manor, Lord Death's home.
It would alert them, as well as the teachers, Lord Death, Kid, and Deathscythe of their whereabouts the moment they got too far.
As irritating as it was, there was no way around it without them getting caught. Cutting the bracelets would also sound out an alert of their last location, as well as an alert that the bracelets had been damaged.
They were stuck, no matter what they did. And if they did want to leave, they'd have to be pretty damn smart about it.
As they reached the manor, Liz looked up at the large home, scoffing at it.
Of course they'd have some fancy ass house... Who the hell even needs all this?
She glanced at Patti, who was also staring at the place, but couldn't really hide the amazement that came with seeing it, and knowing they'd be staying there, as Kid stated he would be responsible for the two at the very least until they got their act together and figured out what they wanted to do. Despite her own feelings, she couldn't ignore how intrigued Patti was, and that this would definitely be better than whatever they managed on the streets.
Even then, she still kept her expectations and hopes shoved down, keeping up the tough exterior that she had shown so far. It definitely wasn't doing any favors in getting some of these people on her side, but she didn't really care about getting cozy with them. She figured it wasn't long before something went south anyways, it was better to not get close.
Patti seemed to be following suit somewhat, but not quite as much as Liz was.
The older of the two sisters was practically dragging her feet as Kid showed them around the manor, and she wasn't really listening to what he was saying, just observing everything around them, taking everything in. The place was huge and easy to get lost in if they didn't stay close to him, and she didn't like that.
But she also knew it wasn't up for negotiation where they'd stay. It was there, or they'd be punished fully for everything they did...
-----♡-----
"Wait, what do you mean?"
Patti's voice and her clinging to Liz's arm snapped her older sister out of her thoughts, and the taller girl looked to Kid with a frown, before looking down at Patti.
"What is it Patti?"
"I was only saying that these were your rooms, you could pick whichever you wanted-"
"That, I don't want a separate room," Patti protested.
It was to be expected. The two hadn't been apart even when sleeping in she wasn't even sure how long. She honestly wasn't even content with the idea of having separate rooms.
"We'll take this one. Both of us," Liz said sternly, glaring down at Kid as she pointed to the room directly beside her and Patti. She glared at him as if she was daring him to protest their decision.
"That's quite alright. The other room will still be open to either of you if you change your minds."
He had turned his back to point out where his room was, close to theirs, and he was spouting some crap about if they need anything he would probably be there or somewhere they could easily find him in the home.
But all Liz could do was glare at him as she walked with Patti. He was almost too agreeable... Surely he had to be up to something. It was all going too well, and she just couldn't shake the feeling like something was off. It had to be. There was no way this was going to be so easy for them...

Liz is rolling her eyes as he turns down her color choice, sighing before she gets an idea. "If you think about it, pink is technically red. Kind of," she stated, although she had the suspicion it wouldn't sway him, already getting the colors he had said he was okay with, as well as some eyeliner. Yellow would have to do for his nails. He wasn't gonna get away with more black if she could help it. Wouldn't hurt him to spice things up somehow.

@guns-and-wavelengths asked:
"Kid, are you just allergic to color or something? You know you can have symmetry without wearing only black and white. I could paint your nails pink or something, it'd be fun!" She's mostly bored, and she knows Patti won't sit still long enough for her; pestering him seems to be the only cure for her boredom right now, because of course it is.

Allergic to color.
That's an interesting way to put it. Allergic to color due to his clothing choices. A soft sigh passes over his lips as he places a bookmark in the middle of the page he's reading, closing the book to give her his undivided attention when he speaks.
"I am not allergic to color," he replies, "but I don't think pink would mesh very well with my general appearance. I'd be open for red, yellow, or black though. Or if you want to attempt that eyeliner stuff again - I'm fine with that if it's the same on both sides."
