i love that au where remmick becomes the moore family pet.
while carving stakes in the juke joint, annie lets the others know about an alternative plan; it might not work, but it’s worth a try… annie would attempt to bind remmick to her control, using her knowledge on eldritch creatures, vampires, and spiritual binding spells. the group decides to devise a plan around that (because let’s be real, there was a fat chance they were actually surviving an onslaught of hungry vampires).
remmick would be so pissed. annie and smoke would kind of hate having him around, but it’s better than being killed. stack would be a pain in remmick’s ass, making him do random shit cuz he literally has no choice but to obey him.
do u guys think they would make him wear a collar LMAO

if smoke and stack decided to let remmick in, i feel like his white ass would step through the door, there would be a record scratch, and then everybody in the juke joint would look at him like this:

the 2011 saga, planet of the apes, is inspired heavily by the roman republic/empire. this is made obvious by the fact that caesar, the main ape protagonist, is named after gaius julius caesar, one of the greatest (if not 𝘵𝘩𝘦 greatest) roman generals. like his human counterpart, caesar tends to the disadvantaged apes and advocates for their right to survive in a world that treats them poorly. similarly, julius caesar was a member and the leader of the populares party, which focused mainly on serving the plebeians and the poor.
additionally (and this is my favorite part), roman empires traditionally took julius caesar's name as their own, using the title of 'caesar' as a way to be addressed. for example, octavian (first roman emperor augustus) was usually greeted by the name of caesar. likewise, proximus caesar in kingdom of the planet of the apes takes caesar's name as a way to associate himself with the late great leader of the apes, just like emperor augustus.
pretty cool, i think.

i don't like the fact that people are shipping remmick and sammie. i mean, sammie's, what, like 20? and remmick's supposedly over a thousand years old?? nahh. sammie and pearline were a cute (nevertheless doomed) couple, and you can literally ship remmick with literally anyone else!! it's giving one billion year old vampire getting with a teenage girl who hasn't graduated high school yet.
also, i've seen posts talking about how remmick wants sammie as a part of his coven because he has a little crush on him. however, i thought it was very clear that remmick doesn't give a crap about sammie or any one else but himself. he just wants to use sammie's gift, and when that stops working, he'll discard of him.
also, @/dragonladdie on tiktok paints a much better picture of a one-sided friendly dynamic between the two of them. made me laugh so hard.

nobody talks about the fact that smoke disappeared for 7 years, leaving his annie to deal with her grief alone. i believe one of the reasons he went to chicago was to distract himself from the mourning (and perhaps because there was a subsequent feeling of guilt over the fact that he couldn't save their kid). however, it was so wrong to abandon annie. smoke had his brother, but annie had no one. of course, there were the townspeople, but when we first see her, she lives alone. the anger she must have experienced... at smoke and at herself.
nevertheless, it attests to annie and smoke's relationship that they reconciled almost immediately. i mean, they were truly, deeply in love, and it showed. when they speak again for the first time, the resentment shines bright through annie's words and her facial expressions. but despite the past, it proves difficult for them to resist each other after having been apart for so long, and i loved watching their respect and adoration for each other throughout the rest of the film.
