People complaining about "gooners" is like another instance where people use euphemisms to hide how reactionary their opinions are. Like apparently “gooning” was slang for a specific kind of edging at one point, but the people who use “gooner” as an insult, use it to mean “people who masturbate, or masturbate too much” or less politely, “sexual degenerate.” But these people can’t say “people who masturbate” or “degenerates” because it is too revealing of the sexual conservatism they are arguing for, so they use “gooners” instead.
#lately I've seen the word being synonymous with anything remotely horny but they're usually taken as a joke and not seriously#if they wanted to insult them then they'd call them denegerates straight up or whatever from what I've seen#but usually it's just young people not knowing the meanings of words & just saying the cool new slang term#i wouldn't take it seriously tbh#i originally knew the word to be synonymous with extreme extreme porn addicts but lately it shifted to anything remotely sexual#it's like that coomer word in the past but idk too people have taken those terms seriously#like how are you gonna get mad when someone calls you a 'gooner'? silly ass word. call me a fucking degen instead 😭

I think some people need to hop off the corners of the internet doing "slacktivism" and actually go outside and partake in IRL protests towards their cause. personally I feel that is more valuable than trying to convince small online communities (which the majority of the people on there share the same values as one another) on opposing opinions and matters.
#just some thoughts on the political and social climates around the world this past decade and how chronically-online folks interact with#issues like that by doing performative/superficial activism.#I am always a believer of real-life activism as I personally believe that makes a change within my community.#trying to spread word around different parts of the internet is like talking to a brick wall sometimes#or they already share the same sentiment and it's usually not worth it#so partaking in irl activism is best.#I've probably repeated what I said but whatever--word dumping my brain out on these thoughts.

the main/popular sims 4 subreddits are so nasty with their thinly-veiled racism... they claim it's because they "Hate Alpha Custom Content Because It Looks Sooo Unnatural 🥺" while pointing out black features and making suspiciously weird comments on it 🤨
the unsolicited "criticism" and remarks on any sim showcase post where it shows a black (or any POC) sim with any particular alpha cc used and then some fucker in the comments would send an essay on why they don't like alpha cc, like damn no one asked for your opinion on what people use and how they play their game in the first place 😭💀 and unfortunately those comments will gather more upvotes than the post itself.
oh and if you say something about the hateful comments, some other fucker would say "b-b-but it's a public forum! MY OPINION is VALID and you are EXPECTED to get CRITICISM on YOUR post!" my brother in christ. what happened to fandom etiquacy in this day and age.

simblr boycotting & complaining about inzoi for the AI usage (which is 100% understandable), yet they continue to play sims 4 where EA is one of the most pro-genAI companies there are.
