this guy in my ffxiv guild befriended a woman also in the guild and started being a creep after he saw what she looked like, she was highly weirded out by this so she pulled the "you know im trans, right" card to try to get him off her back

and this dude backpedaled so hard because of his fear of being attracted to a trans woman that he left the guild with all his little buddies and made an anti woke guild LOL

My insane tin-foil hat theory is that Fandaniel was originally going to take Aulus’ body instead of Asahi’s. 

Knowing there were some things cut from Stormblood, I firmly believe Aulus was a victim of these cuts and/or some re-writes. His boss fight is voiced for goodness sake! There are also some cut voice lines from his fight that raises some eyebrows. Then there’s the fact that he had a minion and mounts in the works. It could very well be that Asahi was more popular and they made the switch.

And digging into the lore aspect, there are parallels between Amon and Aulus. Both were scientists working for their respective empires, doing extremely unethical experiments in the name of pushing the boundaries of life. Amon resurrected Xande and Aulus created the fake-Echo through the Resonant. 

Fandaniel also clearly knew about Aulus’ research too if he took it and used the soul extraction technology against us.

Sorry for Hazbin posting on my XIV tumblr, but I need to talk about Alastor in the finale

Initially I hadn't watched with subs, but I noticed on my second watch that "Altruist" seems to be intentionally capitalized.

I know Amazon has made grammatical errors in subs before, even on this show, but when I tell you that the subs throughout the show have been EXTREMELY thorough (to the point where they'll denote the tone of line delivery or music with descriptors for better accessibility), this seemed intentional.

So, I decided to test it by swapping the sub languages to see if we could parse whether or not that was the case.

Results were inconsistent

Then, I noticed the French version...

This, paired with his ENG line of "once i figure out how to unclip my wings", which of course could just be metaphorical...but I'm thinking not.
