There was a pause before Gwen held up a finger. "Okay, so perhaps I did not think that one through completely because if it wasn't already clear, they will have to pry my jewellery from my cold dead hands to relieve me of it." She cherished every piece that Ben had gifted her and she took great pride in wearing them at any given moment. Especially her engagement and wedding rings. "I hope I'm going to have a very VIP section inside this new place of yours. It'll be just another thing I can show off when it comes to you. Just in case people didn't know how lucky I was to have you as a husband already. I enjoy making people jealous."
Ben could only smile. How he had found himself in the perfect marriage, he would never know. He worshipped the ground the woman walked on and had for a long time, he would always support her and he knew that the sentiment was reciprocated. They showed each other every day. Ben laughed, "Well, I hope you won't because that would mean you wanted to sell it all," he pointed out, smirking playfully.

Gwen immediately found herself laughing when Ben eagerly responded, not that she had expected much less from him. If there was one things that hadn't changed, it was that side of their life. "Ah... I will take that and I do agree. Completely crazy to turn me down." She winked, brushing her finger down his chest.
"Oh yes, please," Ben all but pleaded with a grin that matched hers, "Please show me," he continued, stepping closer toward her. Even if Ben was very dominant and enjoyed being in charge, he would easily and very willingly submit to his wife, "No, I'm just stating facts. Anyone would be crazy to turn you down."

"Do you now?" Gwen hummed, a lascivious grin slipping across her features. "Well I suppose if that's the case I can always show you just how possessive I can get. I know you like it when I take charge too." And it was always fun to work her husband up. "You may be a little biased there, my love." Gwen pointed out in good humour.
"I love it when you get possessive," Ben teased back in the same flirtatious manner. She had only called him hers which was hardly that possessive but he loved it anyway, "Christ, if anyone ever had any regrets about being with you, I'd think they'd sustained a head injury. I'm just happy you have no regrets about choosing me."

An unladylike snort left Gwen. "That's a terrible excuse and you know it. Why would I not make time for you if I can make time for other friends?" Gwen pointed out. "Don't make me want to push you into a bush." She warned the woman lightly.
"I just figured you were busy with other friends," Ivy admitted with a shrug in return, smiling all the same. "I'm really looking forward to that. I'll make sure to keep your schedule in mind when I'm calling you up for a hang."

There was a warm smile on Gwen's face as she saw the expression on Ben's features at the mention of his job and the lightness to his tone. "I cannot wait for that though. You know I will always be your biggest supporter, just as you are mine." It didn't matter what happened, Ben was always in her corner, cheering her on. "I feel as though I will have a whole jewellers by the time you are done. Perhaps that can be my profession when I become too old to ride a broom."
Ben grinned, "Not to worry. If all goes to plan on the job front, I will do all the party-planning for the both of us," he replied, pride in his tone at the thought of finally getting his life together, "You would be right about that, as you usually are," he conceded then shook his head, "Nope, no I do not."

"I suppose that it was a bit of a silly thing to say on my part but I am sure you understand what I meant." Gwen corrected when she told her she wasn't. "You're no quitter. You're strong as hell, Laurel and even if the reason isn't pleasant, I can't wait to see you kick ass on this too." She encouraged.
"I mean... I'm not. Not right now. But I will be. I just have to find what that means for me again," she shrugged when Gwen had said what was most important was that she was happy. "Yeah. I already know this is going to be one hell of an uphill battle but when have I ever been one to back down from a challenge, right?" Laurel the offered up with a like smile of her own before guiding her sister-in-law over to the bar so they could get some drinks.

"I do love that about my man..." Gwen hummed with a little flirtatiously at Ben when he said he was self assured. She gave him a playful smile. Gwen never got enough of Ben, always feeling like they were still in the early days of their relationship, despite the years that had now passed. "I'm glad we don't have any regrets."
"I am a very self-assured guy," Ben agreed, shrugging. Gwen was independent and had never seemed like the type to settle but maybe he also had never seemed like the type even if it was what he wanted. That was why they worked so well. They loved each other fiercely, worshipped the ground the other walked on and could still be independent in their own lives, "You're right. I wouldn't have been able to propose twice if it had happened a different way."

"Do you realise how much you make people want to punch you right in the mouth." Gwen stated with a heavy sigh as she glared at that specific feature when it curled up into a grin and made that comment. "I'll be ready with an 'i told you so'." Because she also knew how much that would irritate him.
"So you care about my happiness, do ya, Gwennie?" the massive grin on his lips could rival the Cheshire cat's. Ambrose couldn't seem to resist seizing any opportunity he had to prod at her even a little bit. He made it appear like everything she was saying was going in one ear and going out the other. "I'll make sure to keep you posted then, but only since you seem so invested."

"You were always so much more sure about how your life would turn out than me it would seem." Because whilst Gwen had been sure about her career and then sure once she'd realised what they had between them, beyond that, she'd never known that she would settle down. In fact, she thought she would remain comfortably independent and single for all her days... with a bit of fun thrown in there of course. But now she couldn't help the warmth that filled her as she lightly toyed with the ring on her finger. "Well, it happened as it did and I'm glad for it. Earlier or not, perhaps if we had, we wouldn't have had some of those sweet moments together that came with reaching the realisation."
"I wouldn't have married you if you'd thought otherwise," Ben replied, smiling with humour and a warmth he reserved only for his wife. Perhaps they had eloped in Vegas while drunk but when they had decided to stay married, Ben had been all in. He was an all-or-nothing kind of guy and Gwen knew it, "I always knew I wanted to be married and settle down but I didn't think I would do it so early in my life. You made me realise that marriage is only about the right person, right time has nothing to do with it. I should have married you years before I actually did."

"Oh we are. A better set of women you will never have the pleasure of meeting Ambrose Zabini and I will also never introduce you to them." Gwen was very aware he would probably try and make it his own personal resolution to work his way through the entire team and she would rid the world of him and bury him beneath the pitch before she'd allow that to happen.
"The Harpies are notorious for playing a good game," Ambrose assured in response when she spoke about her aspirations for the team to come out on top. "And with you at the helm? There's no way that won't happen," he added. "MVP? Who's in charge of handing that out? I'm sure that since your team values you, they'd honor you with that."

"Oh of course, but the lazy part of me is glad that the work is all done for us." Gwen admitted with a laugh, knowing that she was very active within her life that it didn't matter that she had some more laid back moments. "Oh? Wouldn't that make it less impulsive if you thought it through?" She pointed out with a laugh, not really caring how it had happened, only that it had at this point. She gave Ben a look when he produced a box for her. "You never fail, do you."
"I think even if it wasn't, we would still make it the best damn celebration that ever was," Ben replied with a smile, "Why do you think I impulsively proposed when I did and not on another date?" he asked teasingly, "Now, I hope you didn't think we were going to get through an anniversary without a gift," he continued, pulling a velvet box out of his suit jacket, "Happy anniversary, darling."

Gwen was surprised at how quickly the brunette turned the conversation serious. That alone was a big change for Laurel but Gwen didn't necessarily see it as a bad thing as long as it wasn't bringing Laurel down too much. "As long as you're happy, that's important too you know." She reminded her sister in law softly. "Changes are great sometimes but the impact is just as important." When she brushed off the conversation, Gwen gave a soft smile and a nod of her head. "Sounds like a plan to me."
"That's very sweet but I think this new year is going to be filled with something I've been trying to avoid for a long fucking time," Laurel sighed heavily at the thought. "I need to be looking myself in the mirror and make some changes. Some real fucking changes. I'm not a teenager anymore and I need to start acting like it," she grumbled to herself before taking a long and generous sip from her drink. "But thank you, Gwen. I appreciate your optimism. I'm struggling to see the bright side of things at the moment but I need to go through this. Life's giving me a ton of lessons I can't avoid right now." She gave herself a brief shake before looking to her sister-in-law again, "Anyways, enough of that depressing stuff I don't wanna ruin the vibes. How are you? Do you want to grab another drink with me?"

🎆 - our muses get ready for/watch the fireworks together
"You know the best bit about our choice of wedding day? The celebrations are already practically planned for us." Gwen laughed as she gave his hand a squeeze as they found their spot to watch the fireworks from. "That and it's a really easy date to remember too."
