[ riot ] for our muses to encounter people breaking the law (stealing, hurting others, other crime) while people are distracted with the siege @mxsterdisaster
Gwen wasn’t expecting this to happen, granted she had a feeling it would happen at some point. She landed next to Cindy, shooting webs at people who were about to swing a crowbar at people and let out a breath. “Sorry Im late, got tied up.” She explained a bit to the other girl, focusing on someone else who had ten basketballs in their hands. Who needed ten basketballs?

To say that Gwen was scared shitless, would be an understatement. She was at LCorp when she heard everything went down and knew that she had to check on her friends and make sure that they were alive. She glanced around the city, knowing that she couldn’t ignore the feeling in her gut, she pressed harder and further to find her friends.
After a while, she spotted Miggy and lowered herself down onto the ground. “You’re alive!” She breathed out and hugged the man before she realized that she shouldn’t have done that. “Sorry. Have you spoken to anyone else?”

Gwen had been at the press conference, having a day off from L-Corp and wondered if they would ever sign the Accords, not like herself would sign the Accords. She adjusted her backpack strap a bit before she headed after Sue. “Excuse me, Ms. Storm, I was wondering if we can talk about...” She drifted off, not knowing what she was going to say next so she quickly thought on her feet. “Never mind, I don’t remember what I was going to say and I’m not going to waste your time with useless questions.”
Though Reed was smart, he seemed to lack when it came to people skills. Johnny had his moments but he also didn’t have the tact sometimes. Ben would sadly still get rude questions about his appearance. As Reed said, Sue had the smarts but she also had perhaps the most emotional intelligence. That she could interact with people.
“The Fantastic Four remains together during these difficult times and, of course, we will continue our pursuit of science while always doing our best to protect those who need it.” Sue said into the microphone to the reporters outside the Baxter Building. “In this moment of time, we have not come to a decision as a family or a team about signing the Accords. We hope you can respect our privacy during this time. Thank you.” With that Sue turned to head back inside. She didn’t know what would happen with them but she knew she would never put her name to such a thing.
She sighed as she walked back into the Baxter Building reception. “Please, let it be good news for a change.” She pleaded as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

“Great,” Gwen said as she pulled out her things and spread them out a bit. “Then let’s get drunk, throw things and then eat ice cream?” She offered as she looked at her friend.
gwencstac:
Gwen nodded a bit as she heard her and gave her a small smile. “Both, I got drunk, ate ice cream, watched movies, ate junk food, threw things and worked out.” She named off as she looked at MJ. “So if you need to do anything of those, Im game.”
/
“Both sounds good,” MJ said with a weak smile, hoping that drowning her feelings in something else would help. But she was already at the edge of nothing will help this feel better. “I actually have a bunch of toys to throw at the wall — soft ones. Less destructive but still just good.” Something she had picked up in therapy the last time she had gone. “I’m thinking… get drunk first.”

“More like why did I end up here in the first place.” Gwen said as she glanced over at Clint and then looked back ahead. “I’m not complaining, I like it here and I have friends here. It’s just, why was I supposed to be here?” She gestured at the city and let out a sigh.
“And how does one do that? Just, walk away?”
gwencstac:
“ you don’t have to talk, we can just sit together. ”
Gwen completely shut down and shoved her feelings to the side. She wanted to be there for her friends, so she knew she needed to shove her feelings to the side. She couldn’t be there for them if she didn’t. She was on the rooftop of her apartment building when she heard someone walk up to her and sat down next to her. She glanced over to see Clint, staring ahead and sitting there so she looked back ahead. She opened up her mouth, but then she heard him say, “You don’t have to talk, we can just sit together.” She closed her mouth and swallowed thickly.
She didn’t know what to say if she did, so she enjoyed the silence. She chewed on her bottom lip, lightly tapped a bit and let out a breath.
/ ..-. / ..- / - / –.. /
Clint swung his legs over the rooftop ledge. He recognized the look on her face. That far-off, too distant look. Wherever her mind had gone, it wasn’t to a happy place. He set his quiver in his lap, pulled out a few arrows. The ones most in need of a little TLC. Repairing fletching was the second-best therapy he knew.
“Course it’ll be less awkward if you do talk,” he added after a few moments. He kept his eyes on the arrows, his voice casual. “You thinking about where you came from?” he asked. “I do that. Do it a lot. But sometimes… sometimes you gotta know when to walk away.”

MJ wasn’t sure what she wanted to do or what she needed either. It was all a mess inside her head, the only thing she was sure of, was that she wanted Peter safe. That was the only thing she was worried about, the only thing that she could think about at all. The very real fear that came with Peter’s identity being public. Especially when it hadn’t been his own choice. (And for all anyone knew, this was how she had found out.) “A movie sounds good,” MJ said distantly, a faint smile on her face. She was coasting, emotionally. Hanging on to the bare minimum of what made MJ, MJ. “What would you do?” She asked, turning to look at Gwen. “Movies, ice cream? A combination of both?”
Gwen nodded a bit as she heard her and gave her a small smile. “Both, I got drunk, ate ice cream, watched movies, ate junk food, threw things and worked out.” She named off as she looked at MJ. “So if you need to do anything of those, Im game.”

Lena nodded, listening as much as observing, noting several lacerations. “This villain… alien? Metahuman? Mutant? Or human? Any possibility of a foreign substance that might cause infection?” She needed to determine if the ‘fire’ was one of pain or something of even greater concern. The girl started to cry and Lena paused her barrage of questions. “Hey, Gwen. You’re going to be okay. I’m going to fix this.”
“I think, it was a mutant. I couldn’t get a good look at it since it was covered in a suit.” Gwen replied as she grimaced a bit then let out a breath as she tried not to grab at the burn area. “Probably a foreign substance got inside of me while I wasn’t looking.” She nodded a bit as she held back her tears and covered her face with her hands.

enchantressofthemoone:
Perhaps it was a cliche horror movie when a hand shot out of the dirt of the grave. Then another hand before clawing through the loose dirt. The woman’s face finally rose and let out a loud, sharp gasp as if it was the first breath she had ever taken. Slowly and surely she dragged herself across the ground before she safely collapsed to the ground as she gasped for air. This felt wrong. It felt like she shouldn’t be here and yet here she was. Slowly standing up, she stumbled out of the cemetery and anyone would see her would have quite the fright. This woman looked mad and head to toe in dirt. She stumbled to a nearby parked car and looked at herself. Who even was she? Hearing footsteps, she slowly stood up straight but her gaze was like she was in a dream. Was any of it real? Should she even be here?
Gwen had been watching her from her perch on a tree branch and finished the sandwich that she made for herself. She brushed her hands, jumped down and carefully approached the person. “Hi, I was wondering if I can help you with something? Since i’ve been kind of watching you since you stumbled out of the cemetery. Well, that’s a lie, I was just in the neighborhood due to the fact that Im doing a watch.” She realized that she was rambling then let out a sigh. “Im Ghost-Spider and Im one of the good guys.” She stuck out her hand.

MJ wasn’t sure what to say to Gwen. Part of her wanted to pull Gwen inside and at least have someone with her while she processed what had just been dumped on the world. It had been Peter who was the victim, but MJ couldn’t stop shaking. There was no unringing that bell. No masking him again. But how could she help? What could she do? MJ touched just under her nose and then cleared her throat, trying to fight off everything she was feeling. But it was impossible to pretend like this didn’t matter the way that it did. “I could use the company.”
Gwen nodded a bit with a small smile and lifted up the things that she brought. “Awesome,” She replied as she stepped into the apartment. She headed towards the kitchen, placed the things down and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. “I was also thinking that maybe we could watch a movie or two? Or whatever you want to do, we can do.”

luthorforgood:
The late hours of the evening were Lena’s favorite to spend at L-Corp, long after she’d sent all of her employees home… even her persistent driver who tried to convince her to go home for the night. She had work to do and the couch in her office was surprisingly comfortable when need-be. The silence was perfect for the level of concentration she needed right now. Erik Lehnsherr had yet to return to make good on his threat, but she knew better than to have any kind of hope.
The last thing she expected was a disheveled Ghost Spider to land on her balcony, and for the woman to pull back her mask to reveal… Gwen Stacy. The blood distracted from any shock she might have had and Lena immediately opened the glass door to usher the girl instead, leading her toward the chair and examining for the source of the wound. “Super healing?” she asked, brow raised in curiosity, filing that fact away for later and focusing instead on getting the girl talking. “Why don’t you start with telling me what hurts? We can go from there.” Lena was a doctor of biomedical engineering, but she wasn’t sure how much help her knowledge would be on the meta.
Gwen held in the sobs as she slowly pushed down her suit since she hasn’t updated to the parasites like her Brock offered her while she was gone. “Don’t worry I have a tank and pair of shorts on underneath this.” She said softly, grimaced as she let out a breath and relaxed against the chair as a bright red spot shined on her skin.
She took off her ballet flats, not really comfortable in the chair and let out a sob as she leaned back. “Right here and here.” She pointed at her skin, blinked away the tears and wiped the tears and blood away. “I-I was trying to get away from this one villain a-and it just surprised me with an attack and now Im in pain.” She sniffed. She could handle a lot of pain, but not when she feels like her body’s on fire. “It feels like I’m on fire.”
