Saw some family today and I was talking to my MAGA cousin (we're not close, but he was in the room) and he kept going on and on about how much better he considered things to be while I tried to dissociate. Then he looked at me and asked, "Don't you feel so much safer?"

I looked him dead in his willfully-ignorant eyes and replied, "I'm a disabled bisexual woman living below the poverty line. I can't remember the last time I felt safe."

He didn't speak for twenty minutes after that.

So far in LA an Australian news reporter has been shot in the leg by a rubber bullet, a British reporter has been shot by a sponge bullet and sent to the hospital for emergency surgery. A NY Post reporter has been shot in the head with a rubber bullet and went to the hospital for a large bruise on his forehead, whiplash and neck pain, and CNN reporters were handcuffed and escorted away being told to not come back or they will be arrested BECAUSE they are reporters.

It seems like all reporters there to give the real story are being targeted by police/ICE/military in LA.

I recently dislocated my shoulder while trying to get my 4yo out of his carseat. I was in a hurry because it was about to rain and I guess I lifted the heavy kid the wrong way and I felt a pop and damn if my shoulder didn't light up like it was on fire. It's a good thing the kid was already halfway to the ground cause I dropped him the rest of the way to his feet.

When I grabbed at my shoulder, I realized what I did and I managed to pop the bastard back in place, but it hurt like a bitch after that. I couldn't hardly use it for the rest of the night.

I went to the ortho the next morning--with little man in tow--and the doc sent me for an MRI. That was harrowing, but the ladies were nice and let me listen to Taylor Swift the whole time. Later that afternoon I returned to the doctor just so he could tell me I did, indeed, dislocate it and hyperextend all of those muscles around the joint, but mostly because the avascular necrosis has moved into my shoulder. It's a small spot, but enough to worry the doctor.

So now I'm stuck in a sling for 3 weeks and have 6 weeks of PT, which sucks because I just finished PT a month ago for my hip replacement. I went back to see him again today and got a shot of steroids in the joint to help with the inflammation (I'm still in a shit ton of pain) and he wrote me a script for some pain meds. Don't want to take those too much, but they did help with the soreness from the injection. Maybe I'll get to sleep tonight.

Little man has to learn how to crawl in and out of his carseat by himself. He's officially too big for me to be lifting, though ya'll know I'm gonna do it anyway once I'm healed up. I know he's nearly grown, but he's still my baby.

Can't nobody say I didn't suffer for parenthood, that's for sure.
