The “Esse” series of photographs was created by the idea of converting plastic waste into objects with function which reflect beauty and give sense of greater value than these objects had in their original form. The accent is on the jewellery and the clothes which are made of plastic waste, while “Esse” is the essence, and the essence is life, represented by the flowers and the model in contrast to the lifeless plastic waste. These photographs also reflect on the symbiotic relationship of these two opponents as they unfold into a beautiful visual experience, as well as on the battle of the two as one is trying to reign the other. This raises the question if humans are the rulers of this lifeless material or are we being ruled by it.?
