Bye Bye Cholera! Hello Malaria!
Tumblr media
Al-Jazeera
Yemen
Posted on 22 December 2017
Atlas, after President Hadi’s government’s introduction of the World Health Organisation - Yemen Cooperation Framework, the second wave of Cholera outbreaks has thankfully subsided. Daily cases of 5,000 has since declined to an average of 50 cases for the 10th day running. There are more patients recovering from Cholera than Yemenis getting infected by it. However, there is no time to celebrate as another disease lies in the shadows, codenamed, “Malaria.”
However, due to President Hadi’s government’s inefficiency and incompetence, the international community decided to unrecognise President Hadi as the legitimate government and recognised the new transitional government, known as the “Ragtag Bunch”.
In a few weeks, the Minister of Finance (cath), Minister of Information (shan), Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure (josh), Minister of Labour (qian), Minister of Environment (judy) and the Minister of Defence (alden) will be giving their opening speeches in the last conference of the Yemen Cholera Task Force on the ways to deal with the upcoming Malaria.
We look forward to ushering a new era and regime for Yemen!

[End of Siege]
Press Release: “ Dear citizens of Yemen and innocent inhabitants of Aden, It is well established that the Government of Yemen had previously been prepared to launch a siege over Aden. As the situation of cholera appears to exacerbate in Aden, we intend to funnel funds and manpower into combatting our primary foe which is ultimately disease. Hence, the siege has been put on hold, and troops will be withdrawn from the borders surrounding Aden, with only mandatory troops maintained for border security reasons. Rest assured that the safety and well-being of the citizens is still of primary and utmost importance to the Government, and the task force cares very much about the people they are serving. For now this war against the STC shall be put on hold and we look forward to a new era of bilateral relations between the representatives of both sides. We will work together with the United Nations in a robust vaccination drive, as well as uplift the poor through the distribution of aid packages, containing 2 bottles of distilled water, 2 packets of nuts and medical gauze. We are also working with the STC and World Health Organisation to establish a cooperation framework to control the spread of cholera, and free vaccines will be provided. With love and concern, Your government “

The government is finally making sense!
@ejahmedo’s Most Recent Instagram Post: “The government is finally prioritising the Yemenis over their interests! And the representative of STC has also agreed  to allow the humanitarian arrangements between the WHO and the government only if STC personnel are treated as well. Hopefully the government can quickly introduce health management policies (council directive) that will outline the framework/code of conduct (COC) of WHO’s presence in Yemen to assure the population and concrete details about their vaccination drives and educational campaigns etc...”

What happened to government for the people, of the people , by the people?
Tumblr media
Yemen Post
Yemen, Governorate of Aden
Released 17 August 2017
In a recent press conference held by the Yemen Cholera Task Force (useless), there has been alleged reports that the taskforce intends to conduct a siege in the governorate of Aden. A siege, as defined by Oxford dictionary, is “a military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off essential supplies, with the aim of compelling those inside to surrender”, which also means that the taskforce intends to attack Aden and leave helpless and vulnerable Yemeni citizens in their Cholera predicament. The taskforce simply does not care about their own citizens. The STC hence feels obliged to protect our fellow citizens from the pro-government forces. The STC will guard Aden against the pro-government forces and urges all Aden citizens to stand by the STC and resist the pro-government forces as one united Southern Yemen!

Yemen Post takedown!
Tumblr media
Yemen Post
Yemen, Capital City of Sana’a
Published 9 August 2017
Since the government has banned Al-Ayyam and Saba News Agency, the STC has helped to improve press freedom by taking control over the Yemen Post to spread accurate news especially on how to deal with the Cholera outbreak. Yemen citizens, do look out for this space for more updates from the STC and avoid reading news from media outlets controlled by the government!

Interview with civilian in Taiz governorate: "I applaud the government for their continual efforts to improve lives in Yemen. It is not easy for us, but it is also not easy for them. Let's continue to support the government! Like my colleague has mentioned in an earlier article, shame on the STC for seizing a well-respected news agency. - journalist

Yemen
Published on 5 July 2017
In what will come down in history as the stupidest “big brain” move by the government, the government has suppressed the freedom of press and banned the STC controlled Al-Ayyam and Saba News Agency, having only just reclaimed Saba News Agency (WHAT?!). International organisations advocating for press freedom has since scrutinised the events unfolding in Yemen and threaten to halt international humanitarian responses to Yemen if press freedom is still suppressed. The WHO is one such organisation. How will the media landscape in Yemen continue to evolve? No one knows...

Re-colonisation of Saba News Agency
Tumblr media
Al-Ayyam
Yemen, Governorate of Aden
Published on 4 July 2017
The governors and government has inhumanely organised strategic attacks on the STC and fellow Yemenis residing in Aden, so that they could brutally reclaim the Saba News Agency to continue spreading their fake news, propaganda, and measures that only seek to worsen the present Cholera outbreak. A total of 350 deaths of STC loyalists and Aden civilians were sadly reported while the military forces from the governors and government remain unscathed. This clearly shows the lives of civilians are not in the eyes of the government and governors as they only seek to further their selfish agendas. Fret now fellow Yemenis, the STC is looking at taking control over government’s facilities and media outlets outside of Aden, such as Yemen Post, and eventually, Yemen will fall into our hands. Join us in this revolution!

Yemenis for Yemenis. That is a mission the council has always worked under. As we await in bated breath for the recapture of our media companies tainted in reputation by radicalized STC forces, we seek the understanding of the public to lay low and remain calm. We must not allow Yemen to become a safe haven for terrorists and anti-government stances for democracy must remain strong through this storm.

Al-Jazeera
Yemen, Governorate of Yemen
Published on 31 June 2017
While Yemen’s overall GDP growth has recorded a 0.5% expansion due to the growth of Yemen’s healthcare industry, Yemen’s oil industry proves to be a concern, with its contraction of -6.7%. This proves to be a worry for oil industry employees in the Governorate of Marib which comprise of 45% of Marib’s population. This could potentially result in a spike in unemployment in the Governorate of Marib...

Shame on the Southern Transitional Council for seizing a well respected news agency, the Saba News Agency, a company I had worked for during my youth as a journalist, to spread fake news. It deeply saddens me that they have done so, and could have even potentially harmed innocent civilian lives for the sake of opposing the government. This truly makes me wonder if they care about our Yemenis, or if they care more about their political agenda. Governmental support is necessary during this time of crisis, and we are truly doing our best as a task force to take care of the interests of the people before anything else. Please condemn the actions of STC and support the governments efforts. Thank you. We seek your understanding.

[Stop the Tsunami]
Tumblr media
Press Release: “Constant waves of terrorism sweep our shores. The pain and suffering of Yemenis resonates within the council. As Minister of Finance, I will direct four points of focus in our funding: a) Preventing Yemen from becoming a safe haven for terrorists and radicalized individuals b) Strengthening water and sanitary infrastructure, as well as purchase of more vaccines c) Hiring more media professionals to reduce misinformation d) Expanding ports and paths for economic development While some argue that I hold too much power as joint Minister of Labour and Minister of Finance, Prime Minister Ahmed has ordered regular checks on my directives to prevent their use for personal motivations or actions of corrupt nature. I seek the understanding of Yemenis through this crisis. My heart goes out to all of you.” ¬ MOSAL

Yemen's newly reopened Mokha Port is open to all countries for international trade! We believe this trade will be beneficial to all, as Yemen has raw resources like oil which we will be happy to provide. We have already provided tax cuts for all international traders willing to visit our port. Do not be put off by the current state of our economy. The Yemeni government is furthering effective measures to combat and control the spread of Cholera within our country and the political struggle within the country is stabilising.
