it's so weird. we don't have any dogs with those dark glassy eyes mawkish had anymore. i think my sister's chihuahua comes the closest. i always think of dogs as just having those eyes that are so dark it looks like they only have pupils though

It's cool if you don't want to answer this, but for personal reference, how did Dupe come to be associated with chameleons as a (former?) persecutor? (I've got my own dissociative brain situation and I've had some similar thoughts in an area that's proven tricky to untangle)

many reasons. she has big emotions. while many people associate the color-changing abilities of the chameleon with camouflage, chameleons change colors to communicate intentions and emotions -- most frequently when they're "fired up." they do not change to blend in. they blend in by default. she's also able to mimic and mesh with most alters emotionally, which made her a stable host for many years. she changes to "match" other alters' "colors." even though she's clearly associated with green, this made her less defined by a specific color than other alters.

dupe is DRAWN very expressively, but internally, she can mostly move her face like a regular lizard. her color is the MAIN way she emotes, along with body language.

either way, i think you should approach your own dissociative brain stuff with little outside influence about what it might mean. if you can't untangle something my experience has been i'm not ready to make sense of that thing or accept it, or i've just walked into a dead end that doesn't actually have much meaning.

also, she probably still identifies as a persecutor. for various reasons. i don't think the root behavior underlying an alter changes even if the alter changes themself. those formative habits and preferences will always be there, they're your default mode network. but i get that's a controversial opinion due to how deterministic it is

that chart can be a little confusing because of how densely packed it is -- tardigrades (water bears) and velvet worms are not arthropods. much like how insects are pancrustaceans but NOT crustaceans, tardigrades and velvet worms are panarthropods, NOT arthropods. they are NOT included in the arthropoda phylum and therefore are not arthropods.

there's a mod that basically builds instant pedestrian overpasses at intersections to prevent pedestrians from clogging up car traffic with heavy foot traffic. there is no such mod to make creating a car overpass instead. this incentivizes creating pedestrian overpasses to deal with pedestrians on your car-centric roads.

the problem is that pedestrian overpasses are fucking despised by everyone in the real world. so i ended up feeling less and less like i could use them. i ended up, ultimately, ripping out every pedestrian overpass and starting the process of forcing cars to go above and below pedestrians within areas of significant conflict.

this roundabout, which came with the map's premade starting grid, became extremely clogged with traffic, because small roundabouts like this aren't able to handle more than moderate traffic. you need enough space in between cars for entering cars to actually use the roundabout. so what i ended up doing was something... truly heinous and ugly with a pedestrian overpass and an even higher tram overpass just barely scraping over the pedestrian overpass. it's gone now though. i have atoned for my sins and the intersection looks like this. the concrete creating the roundabout circle is entirely for pedestrians and cyclists. traffic going north-south goes over the roundabout, and traffic going east-west goes under. the tram also goes under, even lower than the brief car underpass. they do not intersect at all and no longer stop the traffic flow of each other, which the first solution didn't fix, it just forced everyone to eventually get a turn using timed traffic lights. the grass is empty, obviously, but it'll be filled, and it can even support businesses around the roundabout now, which the roundabout wouldn't be able to do with cars because you can't stop on a roundabout. pedestrian traffic can now visit destinations within this area.

what really annoys me is that this basic intersection with two directions of traffic going over and two going under -- i'm sure it has a name but i'd call it the never intersection because they never actually intersect -- is just nonexistent on the workshop. there is a whole pedestrian bridge autobuilder but not an intersection where the cars do not literally stop each other from proceeding by simply not meeting at ground level.
