ok but like a series of side-quests where Aloy teaches Beta how to survive in the wilds, starting with the tutorial, and whatever you teach her affects her appearance tho?

Like say if she asks you what’s important when picking an armor and you say defense she’ll be wearing oseram gear afterwards, but if you say agility she’ll be wearing carja fit. Maybe balance could be Nora leathers?

If you tell her precision is important when picking a weapon she’ll have a sharpshot bow but if you say idk tactical advantage would be ideal she’d have an elemental sling or something, power could be a spike thrower and flexibility a hunter bow that also has elemental arrows

And the more of these you do the more confident Beta becomes. She doesn’t have to fight or anything it could be just aesthetic, cmon

All that remains - 7 Conclusion

After telling Tilda that she's got to lay a friend to rest and put an end from the air to Regalla's rebellion, Aloy turns back.

She's now about to leave Tilda's house, but she's stopped by Tilda's voice.

To show that she wants to help, Tilda tells Aloy about something that might prove very useful to stop Regalla's troops.. Something that might be find on any Horus and make quite the impression : electromagnetic energy cells.

.. Then Tilda promesses to join Aloy at her base if she manages to bring Sylens along. Aloy corrects her : "when" she will. They part ways.

Time to go back to our friends now... They still believe we're dead or lost.. and damn I miss Kotallo.

All That Remains - 6 Building a new plan with Beth

Beth is being almost tortured to do the full merge of Hephaestus with Gaia...

The first thing Beth says with her extra projection is "you should've killed me" and it hits so hard... So Aloy speaks to Beth, and it seems like she got a plan to bring her back. This gives Beth some determination to hold on.. She still trusts Aloy.

Tilda cannot overhear the end of the discussion, neither do we, as she explains the idea.. Beth looks like she's really in pain, but we have to let her for now..

When Tilda asks about Aloy's plan, she replies that she'll get rid of Regalla's army coz she doesn't need it to fight the Zeniths, but when asked about the details, she says it's between her et "her sister" ♥ ༼ ｡ ◕◡◕ ｡ ༽ ♥

Now Aloy has some things to do before to end this.. and Tilda wishes to know what exactly..

All that remains - 5 Alternative

We asked everything we could, let's now find an alternative in order to save the Tenakths by choosing "there must be another way".

Aloy is well aware that Tilda's plan will require to sacrifice all of the Tenakths... of course she's against it.

Here Tilda does what I hate the most about her : she distorts Elisabet's sacrifice saying "We are in an admittedly desperate situation but I assure you there isn't. Remember Zero Dawn. Elisabet's sacrifice. Sometimes many have to die for a new world to grow" which is sooo far away from Sobeck's moral. Elisabet Sobeck made up "Enduring Victory" because she was without any other option left, because every single one was going to die anyway, whatever they could have done in the remaining time. It was inevitable. She just couldn't save them, otherwise she would have done it ! All she could do was to use their unavoidable deaths to increase the chances of creating a future where there was none. To me it's completely different from accepting to sacrifice lifes that can be saved. Tilda didn't even try to think of another solution, she just thought of using Sylen's "easy" plan. She doesn't even want to try and lies... Ugh. This kind of gaslight just disgusts me.

For Aloy, there has to be another way. She holds to Rost's most precious lesson and suddently thinks of something...

She's not alone in this situation after all.. The Data Channel still exists and Aloy wants to use it.. which seems not to please Tilda but whatever..

She tries to avoid it but Aloy insists, and Tilda's compelled to cooperate, and so opens the Data Channel for Aloy.

Aloy goes directly to where Beth's projection is..

All That Remains - 4 Talking with Tilda

So let's talk with Tilda. She's got an idea, as it seems, to defeat the other Zeniths, and obviously, it involves Sylens, for he knows how to neutralize their shields..

Plan's simple : let him use everyone and kill the Zeniths while sacrifying the Tenakth, and discreetly take Beth & Gaia back, under his very nose.

We can now dig on various subjects : The Zeniths' plan, Sylens, Elisabeth, Aloy's old Focus, and Beth. I won't share screens for it all nor transcript all dialogues, but all is interesting, and I feel like sharing my humble point of view about this characters, what I felt while playing the first time and still feels after many runs.. That explains why, despite being very charismatic, I just can't appreciate the character.

-> Beta When Aloy asks about Beth'status, Tilda says that she's working for the Zeniths on Hephaestus merge with Gaia and says : "they will compel her, if need to be, but her life is not in danger : she's the only one who can do it". Just keeping her head cool or not caring for her ? Anyway, 'of course' according to Tilda it was "Gerard's idea" that Beth was treated like a tool her whole life. Tilda created the data channel to avoid suspicion while being with Beth as she was sort of forbidden to be kind with her. But is that all really ? We're speaking about someone who spent a thousand years with the others a**h***** and didn't loose it on the way..

-> -> Data Channel We can investigate further about this data channel and Aloy reproaches her for having brutally cut it. Tilda answers : "Yes, though it pained me, I was worried that our meetings would do more harm than good. _ She felt like you tossed her aside. _ I was afraid the others would find out and punish her. [...] I ensured she was safe [...]" ︿ Let's be honest : they needed Beth. They never truly needed Tilda. Tilda would have been the one to really be punished (probably expulsed in space or whatever, maybe even killed), Beth was already living some kind of hellish life, so to me Tilda only thought about her own safety, but to me there's more than just this. First : Tilda is just so confident about her abilities, and so proud that she can "outwin" Gerard and the others, it's barely possible that she truly thinks that the others could actually find the channel. Otherwise she would probably had it destroyed. She's just lying. And then here's why (in my opinion, always).. ︿︿ Beth is "Lis's clone". "Another Lis" for anyone so stupid to think that a DNA makes a whole person, body & mind, which was precisely what Tilda thought as she's deluded. So next : Tilda used to be in love with Elisabeth (or at least thought she was and still is). She probably saw Beth as a possible "Lis' replacement", has tried to get accointed to her, and when she realized that Beth was NOT Lis, and would never be her, she denied her and indeed tossed her aside. THAT is what pained Tilda : to see Lis'face but not finding 'her Lis' again behind it. It's that simple to me. (Yet again, my sentiment only, might be wrong, good luck though to make me change my mind on that specific point).

-> -> -> This place There, when Aloy asked "you wanted Beta to see this place ?" she mentions "Yes. Her upbringing was so cold and technical. I thought she could experience Vermeer and Rembrandt it would bring something else into her life.. a heritage every bit as valuable as the scientific and technical data being drummed into her. I'm sorry I had to cut off contact, but I'll never regret sharing this house with her. She needed this shelter even more than I did" ︿ I'm less categorical on this point. Maybe yes, maybe no. Maybe at some point she felt sorry for Beth, but to me it lasted just the time she thought about her as Lis replacement. I do feel more like she was looking for a way to get closer to Beth, and maybe stimulates something else than just technical knowledge to see if that could bring Lis' spirit more into her... and now she uses this old attempt to get Aloy by the soft spot, but there's no way to tell for sure.

-> My Focus Tilda starts by saying that seeing Aloy was a "revelation", and before that when mentionning the Focus, she told Aloy that she really was "Elisabeth's blood", all she saw in Lis "and more". Choosing this option then unlocks another one..

-> -> "what about you ?" And quickly Tilda speaks about her being like an outcast, to which Aloy reacts by saying "Oh, so we're a lot alike, huh ?" with a sarcastic smirk. ︿ Aloy's not entirely blind to her manipulation ; Tilda's trying to get closer to her by making her see similarities between them. Then unlocks the next option..

-> -> -> "Joining Far Zenith" where she gives "probable excuses" (I don't believe her, but let's admit this part is true : she knew not about Far Zenith's true nature until it was too late - more likely she knew and didn't care), and tells us "I wanted Lis to come". Here her regrets seems to be real. Next we can unfold another related option..

-> -> -> -> "the other zeniths", but she ends up talking about Aloy again saying "Now, finally, having met you, I feel like I have a second chance. _ To what ? _ To fulfill Lis' dream [...]" ︿ It's all about Lis / Aloy. See me coming or not ? After Beth, the "failed attempt" to have Lis back, Aloy is the new option, a better promising one. Tilda's not willing to help Aloy, but only to gain her trust & affection so she can have her idealized lover back (it's totally obvious at the end of the game btw). Ugh

-> The Zeniths' plan There's not much there about Tilda's personnality & relation to Liz/Beth/Aloy, except the fact that she's hiding the truth to Aloy even if we don't kwow it yet at this moment, and the fact that she always keeps cards for herself as we learn when choosing the option :

-> -> The Zeniths' base She speaks about an access to the base only her knows. She kept this information for herself, as she hid the data channel too, she never trusted any of the Zeniths, and doing so was never worth to be trusted by them at the same time. At least she speaks true when saying they've never been her friends. With a good enough reason, she could have turned against them at any time...

-> -> -> Beta's location She indicates the location, that Gaia would be complete by then, and just insists on them being able to make this world as "it should be".

-> Sylens Tilda tells Aloy that by installing spywares on "Sons of Prometheus" ' Focus, she was able to learn much of Sylens' plans, even though she couldn't find how he managed to neutralize the Zeniths' shields.

-> -> The Tenakth We learn that Regalla, too blinded by her revenge to realize it'll be her & all Tenakth's doom, accepted as a price to pay 'to charge the Zeniths' base' in exchange for the ability to override machines, not even knowing who she really was dealing with, nor knowing that the Zeniths can't be defeated that way.

-> Elisabet Aloy asks Tilda "What was she like" and she answers "everything she was, I see in you, and more. Your ingenuity, your determination, your moral compass. You've managed to distill her greatest qualities and make them your own." which is NOT the question. Flattery ? Avoidance ? Whatever this is, she clearly understands&says only what she wants. When Aloy recenters on her question about how truly Elisabet was, Tilda gives her most honest answer of all the game : "I don't actually know." as Elisabet always kept a part of her locked away.

-> -> How did you meet Elisabet ? & then -> -> -> Your approach to Elisabet We can learn things on Elisabeth there (like she really was clever, well-informed, warm, full of passion for what she was doing, but also always needed her space - humble &/or introvert way -, and so on), and we understand that Tilda was drawn to her (mostly admiration at least at first); Elisabet still remains very secret, and I'm inclined to think Tilda mostly idealized Lis, not seeing her for real, and remained in love with a fantasy of Lis more than with Lis herself, which might be part of why Lis stepped away.

I can't claim to be right, but that's how I felt Tilda since the beginning. She's rather beautiful and charismatic, but she's a horrible character to me. Yet, I think I'll share more screens of her later nonetheless, because anyone is free to like her anyway ^^ Ok, I suppose I should try to get some rest, sorry for the long blabla-text !

All That Remains - 3 Agreeing to speak with Tilda

Once in the light, Aloy quickly understands where she is : in Tilda's house. The same she used to represent in Beta's secret data channel..

'Why did Tilda save Aloy ? ' Because she saw all of her life thanks to her old Focus... she repaired it.

Tilda says seeing all this gave her the will to defy the other Zeniths, that she wants to help... Aloy accepts to sit & talk with Tilda, still with distrust (and hell yes you're right girl ! We all suspect ulterior motives). She even takes a bit of breakfast* (*actually more like one lick of an apple et one sip of thin air, for when you look at them in the end, the cup is clean and no part is missing on the apple - yeah yeah details details ʕ¬‿¬ ʔ )

Tilda seems to really cooperate -at least for now- and have big plans... but Aloy remembers her that there's still work to be done before that..

All That Remains - 2 Tilda's gallery

Out of the room is an Art gallery

We can take a look on them or not, and by doing so we can speak (or not) with Tilda about it. - Honestly, except for the blog, I never took the time to do it, because it felt OOC for Aloy to "waste" time, especially after all that just happened.. All That Remains - 1 waking up

After the flash at cauldron Gemini, Aloy lost conciousness... only to wake up in an unfamiliar place

She quickly remembers what happened..

Time to mourn will come... later.. A voice speaks to Aloy, time to get up.

Our stuff is there... let's gather it and get out of this curious chamber.

Random thought: mysterious place

Have you notice it too ? There's clearly a 'notable' place in HFW that cannot be accessed near the Eastern Lie Rebel Camp. Actually, maybe there're more than this one, but it's the only one that really caught my eyes...

I did not notice the building at first, I was just "trolling" the map's borders, fell into a canyon, were forbidden to go further North, turned back the only way left South, and had to defeat the rebel camp right after the Embassy... (did not take any screens at the time so I went there again on my current new game+)

First time I played I thought "okay, the game is telling me to come back later", then I forgot about it.

Second run, same interdiction when trolling the border (I like to do that) I thought "I must have missed something. Surely this time, by the end of the game, I'll come here". Then I forgot about it again, until I had my sunwing. I went there again, but it was still forbidden.. Hm hm hm..

After several runs, it's still out of the map : I've NEVER been there, it is just impossible to reach, the game reloads the last save before you can land on it, and I'm convincing more & more myself that this place is for the "third" Horizon game... but is it really ? Is it just a decor ? Seems a bit detailed for that but this game is so neat, that's not impossible either... Guess I want to believe it's for next time, it'll mean we stay near the Tenakth's land (and Kotallo ♥)

I can't help but wonder : Has anyone ever reached/unlocked the place (and if yes, please : HOW??) or do you think the same : this place will be unlocked in the next opus ?? You can't put something like THIS in front of me and tell me I cannot explore it, ever, it's just too unfair xD

Anyway, back to my business asap (Unfortunately, at this moment, I experiment "stuckmind" again.. it comes and goes all the time, and I hate it when it strikes. I fight again and again but I do feel so helpless each time... I can only hope it'll pass soon)

Cauldron Gemini - 7 Betrayal & Broken Promise

Varl's being out, Erik Visser takes Beth away. Aloy tries to keep her promise, but can't bring herself to keep it...

All hope seems vain, but suddently, one of the Zeniths betray the others : Tilda...

In a flash, this mission ends..

Everything was being so nice & going smooth but then...

(very) Bad news incoming... The Zeniths are here..

Aloy's quickly knocked down.. Varl does whatever he can to protect Beth & Gaia... and even tries a smart move...

Unfortunately, he's no match to those a**h**** (I hate them, especially Visser). Visser executes Gerard's orders way too happily...

... and it's game over for our dear Varl.

And I'm sorry, I did not find a way to "hide" pictures one by one and put 'TW' on them, so that's the only solution I found... Unless there's a way to hide each picture itself, I think I won't post more screens about this passage as it is a bit disturbing to me already (I liked his character a lot and I think he deserved better..) : so I can imagine people for whom it is highly unbearable and I do not wish to trigger/upset them.. :/
