for some reason middle aged comic fans coming on the internet to defend their decision as to why they thought a twelve year old should have died or lived is so funny 😭😭😭
The very fact that every TOS reboot is afraid to depict the closeness between Kirk and Spock in the same way it was depicted originally is a devastating reinforcement of how gay that shit was
This is a series of fanfics by CatalenaMara/Kathy Resch that takes place between Star Trek: The Motion Picture and The Search for Spock.
"Thataway" (1981)
"Chess" (1981)
"Beyond the Barrier" (1984)
"Berengeria Seven" (1984)
"Like a Tear Cast in Stone" (1986)
"Sacrifices" (2007)
I am almost finished with "Beyond the Barrier" and the mix of sci-fi and slash is so good. Heartbreaking but good!
"Sacrifices" was the first story I read in this series. It deals with the fallout of fal-tor-pan and Spock's adjustments to his old/new life. One of the most beautiful fics I've ever read.
The final three stories in this series, "Incidents," "After," and "In the Garden" have not been uploaded to AO3 yet, but there's always hope!
"Incidents" was originally published in T'hy'la 3 (1983).
"After" was published in Yet Another K/S Zine (February 1984).
"In the Garden" was originally published in The Final Frontier 2 (1983).
What’s so interesting about star trek tos is that all this crazy batshit stuff happens but it’s never brought up again. BUT not only that, the characters still gradually change. Their relationships with each other grow. Stuff evolves. It’s not like, ‘well that happened, time to reset!’ It’s more like, ‘things happened that are never going to be mentioned ever again but we have still changed.’ And it’s fucking baffling
