From the interview (published on October 29th, 2011) with the investigator on the case of the Academy maniacs, Evgeny Karchevsky: – Do their parents also consider them ordinary children, or do they take responsibility for raising serial killers? – Lytkin's mom certainly feels guilty: yes, she overlooked the guy, didn't restrict his contacts with Artyom, access to the computer, didn't ask where he was walking, what he was doing. Nikita, by the way, was baptized, went to the Orthodox Church as a child, attended services with his mother. She raised a child without a father, worked two jobs. Now Nikita's mother is Nikita's legal representative in the criminal process, participates in all investigative actions, signs protocols, since he committed all crimes except the last one when he wasn't yet 18 years old. So they see each other often. They communicate calmly. Sometimes mom brings Nikita home-cooked food. I allow it.

Nikita and his mom in the background.
– Artyom's mother behaves quite differently. Her relationship with her son is not working out. He says this himself in his testimony and even refuses to meet. Evgeny Karchevsky in the documentary (published on January 29th, 2013): – Anoufriev's mother is a complex person in her own right. Throughout the investigation, she constantly fought with me as an investigator and with the operatives, and she constantly wrote complaints to the staff that her son was innocent, that it was all a slander, that she had the perfect child.

zachary neagle.
In late 2009, Idaho, Zachary shot his father with a hunting rifle at only fourteen years old. Zachary did not do this out of sadism, but due to his own safety being in danger. He wished he had a better alternative instead of having to kill his own father. Tearfully, he told the judge that his father had been sexually assaulting him,  "I didn't think I was safe at the time," and also feared for his own siblings. Zachary testified his father sexually molested him the morning of May 16, 2009 and told the judge that it was sexual abuse that started from when he was 8 or 9 years old. He feared for his siblings as they were also 6 and 9 by the time he did the shooting, not wishing for them to go through the same thing he unfortunately had to go through. The reason to being scared was because his father had told him he was going to do the same thing he had done to him to his siblings, Zachary already had bags for them to run away with but knew he couldn't take care of them only at 14 years old, as his father started to wake up.. that's when panic settled in. He grabbed the rifle and shot his father, his father was already dead by the time he called 911. He wasn't arrested until three days after the shooting - in a police interview room, he revealed to his grandmother on accident that he had killed his father, the conversation was being recorded and that was enough for the police to arrest him. He was charged with murder - he spent two weeks in county jail, he spent 5 years in juvenile prison and he then was released on probation. He was never alone, his mother and his sister supported him throughout the entirety of him being gone and his grandparents would visit. The town they lived in had supported them, giving them so much strength - even if some distant relatives on his fathers side no longer talked to him.

I'm serious when I say that we need to push for platforms where words like "pedophile" "sex" "suicide" can be said freely bc if I have to listen to the word "pdf file" on a video essay one more time I will explode.
