I-Land Season Two Finale
Watch the final ranking of I-Land Season Two!
Warnings: Crying, some angst?
There was eight boys all lined up on stage, nerves linking them together as they waited for the annoucer to start speaking. This was the final leg of their journey and after this, they wouldn't be 23 or eight anymore, they'd be six. They'd have to leave two people behind.
"Welcome to the finale of I-Land Season Two," The announcer starts after getting the go-ahead from the producers, all eight of the contestants tensing up immediately.
"We will start by announcing the group's name," He continues, gesturing to the screen behind him which lights up, "Our newest debut group will be called 'Here Together'!"
Cheers ring out in the stadium. That'll be the group six of them debut with.
"Now for our debut line-up. We will announce the contestant who placed in fifth place!"
It's almost deafening, but it's clear none of the boys on the stage are processing it. The cameras pan to each contestant, capturing how each of them are tense and fidgeting. The lights shine down on them as suspensful music starts to play, all of them waiting for the producer's cue.
"In fifth place," The announcer pauses for dramatic effect, "Kit! Congratulations!"
Kit's face appears on the screens as his hands snap up to cover his mouth, eyes widening as he's swarmed by the other contestants. He can feel the hands of his fellow trainees on his back and shoulders, patting him to shake him back to reality so he can move to the fifth place spot.
"Thank..." He pauses and swallows, trying to gather his words, "Thank you everyone who voted for me. Thank you to my parents and my sister who have always helped inspire me and my dreams, who have pushed me to always do my best because they believe in me so much. I miss all of you everyday, but now I can make you proud of me and repay all of your kindness."
As he bows, he wipes his eyes quickly before he takes his spot on the fifth place podium.
"Congratulations Kit!" The announcer clears his throat to get rid of his own emotions, "We will now announce fourth place!"
The suspensful music starts up again, cameras showing each of their nervous faces.
"Fourth place is... Hamasaki Minato!"
Minato breathes a long sigh of what he thinks might be relief as he's greeted with the same response as Kit. People are ruffling his hair and pinching his cheeks.
"Thank you for giving me another chance," He says, keeping his voice steady, "I won't let our fans down!"
When he steps up to the fourth place podium, he pulls Kit into a tight hug. The two of them have always had a sort of understand between the two of them being some of the only few non-Korean trainees on the show and now they've both made it. Minato rubs Kit's back as the older tries to hold his tears back.
"Now for third place! .... Congratulations Jihun!"
"What?' Jihun says, looking around at the other trainees who are yelling their congratulations at him, "Me?"
He's pushed forward by them, still utterly shocked. It isn't until he's stood in the middle of the stage, microphone in hand, that he starts tearing up.
"Thank you to the loyal fans for giving me this chance and thank you to the other trainees who have taught me so much during our time together... I won't forget the lessons I've learned here," He says, voice breaking a little.
"Can you believe the only three '03 liners all made it?" Minato says when Jihun gets to his podium, "What are the odds of that."
Kit and Jihun shoot him small smiles as the music kicks up again.
"In second place... Kim Seojun!"
The entire stadium errupts with cheers as Seojun all but collapses into Sujin who was stood next to him. He has to take a moment to just cry, gasping loudly as he's surrounded by the other trainees.
He takes the microphone, still hiccuping from his tears, "Tha-Thank you for this! I-I'm so happy I got a second chance at-at this. I'll do my best!"
The three on the podiums welcome him immediately with open arms, pulling him into a tight hug as he regains himself.
"Now, the moment we've all been anxiously awaiting!" The announcer starts, "First place!"
The remaining four idols are all tenser than they have been. All hoping for a chance they might not get.
"Congratulations... Lee Hakyung!"
Screams to rival Seojun's cheers ring out. Hakyung looks to be in shock, looking at his fellow trainees like he doesn't want to leave their sides. He looks to his same-age friend in the show, Seongho, who just holds his face and tells him he needs to do his speech.
Hakyung's voice is quiet when he finally finds his words, "Thank you to everyone who helped me get better. You're the only reason I managed to do this, I won't dissapoint you, I promise."
"I told you," Minato says to him when he steps onto the first place podium.
He can't help but laugh because Kit did tell him. Kit somehow knew he would place first and never let him give up. Hakyung squeezes Kit's hand gently.
"And for our sixth place ranking, we have three trainees left. This final position will be the producer's choice, please give them a few minutes to discuss!"
The cameras are taken off the trainees to focus on the intense conversations the producers and judges are now having. The three remaining trainees all join hands, standing together one last time. This was it for all of them.
"Are you ready producers?"
"We are."
The cameras are back on the three trainees, all still holding hands.
"Our choice for the final member of Here Together is... Park Sujin!"
Sujin's knees give out under him, only being held up by the two on either side of him. He can see the heartbreak clear in their eyes despite the smiles they're wearing. For a moment, all he can do is apologize to them because he thinks it should have been either one of them called, not him.
"Don't say that," Daeho, the oldest trainee says through a tearful smile, "It's not our time yet, but it is yours."
With those words he takes center stage, "Eomma, Appa. Are you watching? All of those years of hard work, working to pay for all of my dreams have paid off. I swear I won't let you down and I'll work harder every day to pay you back."
Even the judges were misty-eyed by the end of his speech as the other five join him. Seojun gets to him first, throwing his arms around his twin. The two of them are quick to pull the other four into the hug.
"Congratulations to Here Together!"

Here Together's Jihun on Indefinite Hiatus According to BE:LIFT Entertainment

posted February 4th. 2023
BE:LIFT Entertainment has released a statement about member Jihun's current well-being after fans began noticing concerning weight loss in the idol.
"Hello this is BE:LIFT Entertainment,
Here Together member Jihun will be placed on an indefinite hiatus. This is the route the company and Jihun's personal doctors agree is the best to take due to the member's extreme anxiety and weight lose due to stress.
We ask that fans refrain from spreading information about Jihun's family at this time and we plan to take legal action against any person who has leaked any personal information.
Thank you for your understanding and please continue to support Here Together as five."
Earlier this year, it was leaked by an anonymous user that Jihun's family was extremely unsupportive of his decision to persue being an idol, even going so far as to completely cut all contact with the idol prior to his appearance on I-Land season two.
Fans have noticed the concerning turn in his health since the information was leaked and have taken to demanding HYBE and BE:LIFT protect the idol.
"jihun always looks so sick these days he needs proper rest away from those freaks trying to expose his personal life..." "i hope the companies do something about this soon... i worry about our jihunnie..." "so soon after their debut too... i'm sure he's feeling awful about everything" "γ
γ
γ
this group was doomed the moment seojun was added to the lineup"
What are your thoughts?

β³ β [Member Introductions] Β‘! β

kim seojun
Kim Seojun was born in Ilsan, South Korea on March 17, 2002 and was his parents' first child. When Seojun was merely three years old and after the birth of his younger brother, his father was gifted a job opportunity in the United Kingdom, where they lived for the next 12 years until Seojun auditioned and was accepted into HYBE Entertainment in 2017. He moved back alone, immediately moving into the trainee dorms where he then befriended fellow trainee Huening Kai and later the rest of the trainees that would form the idol group Tomorrow by Together.
Seojun is the only member of Here Together that was a returning contestant from I-Land. Netizens as well as fellow contestants were shocked when he was revealed as a returning trainee to the show. His drastic appearance change from the first season was a major hot topic throughout the second season and gained him a lot of attention. Some good, some bad. Some netizens believed the company was favoring him and paid for him to have plastic surgery in order to boost his ratings, but loyal defenders who were fans of him from the first season defended him.
He is a rather quiet leader, only taking the reigns when he feels like he must. He is often considered the quietest member alongside Sujin which gets him into controversy often. Despite being openly friends both with fellow idols within HYBE Entertainment and outside companies, netizens are keen on picking out interactions in which Seojun might be seen as 'rude' towards his seniors.
Fans of the group and the members themselves are quick to defend their leader, claiming that he's just quite shy because he respects his fellow label-mates. To them, he's their soft-spoken, but kind hearted leader who would move mountains for them.

park sujin
Park Sujin was born on March 17, 2002. He is an only child to two loving parents who have always strived to see him succeed. Sujin joined HYBE Entertainment in 2020, therefore being unable to compete in the first season of I-Land. Many international fans of the show were quick to point out that he was a victim of what they call 'evil editing' by MNET. Throughout the season, he was shown to be cold and rude to the other contestants, despite many of them saying he was just very quiet and dedicated. He was the producers' choice for the final member of the debut line-up where, in his speech, he revealed that his parents worked multiple jobs in order to pay for his training which is why he was so dedicated to debuting, to honor his parents' hard work. This managed to turn public opinions about him, boosting him to one of the most popular members within the group.
He and Seojun are often referred to as twins because of their similar names and shared birthday. The two have become almost inseparable since debut. The members have said they consider Sujin the eldest member and Seojun as the leader and that the two of them are a fantastic eldest duo.
Netizens have realized that this seemingly cold member is nothing more than a quiet teddybear who is rather soft once you get past his introverted nature.

kit / boonnam charoensuk
Kit was born on July 1st, 2003 in Hat Yai, Thailand. He has an older sister who is only two years older than him (2002) and Kit has said before that they're very close. He has said that he's been dancing and performing since he was a small child with his sister and that he's always known he's wanted to become an idol. Kit moved to South Korea in 2019 after auditioning and being accepted into HYBE Entertainment. He was ranked fifth place during I-Land season two and is HYBE's first Thai idol. Despite placing highly thoughout the entire show, he was very surprised by the amount of votes he received. His speech dedicated to his parents and sister was enough to have even the producers and judges crying alongside him.
Kit is often described as the mood-maker of the group, alongside the rest of the '03 liners. His quick wit and unique sense of humor make him popular with netizens. Despite this, he is quick to remind everyone that he is the third eldest. The members have said that he can get overprotective of them and is more out-spoken about his discontent with how they're being treated due to his more vocal nature.
He has only spoken on his friendships with other Thai idols a few times, stating that he's closest with NCT's Ten although fans have spotted him and GOT7's BamBam together at award shows often. Kit has said that he is extremely grateful for his fellow Thai idols and the fact that they've paved the way for him to be doing what he is. He also says that he hopes more kids like him with big dreams take the chance to fight for them like he did.

jihun / byun beomsuk
Jihun, or Byun Beomsuk, was born on October 13, 2003 in Seoul, South Korea. He has an older sister who is seven years older than him (1996). Jihun very rarely speaks about his family. He auditioned under HYBE Entertainment in 2021 and had the shortest training time at only six months before he was announced to be a contestant on I-Land season two. He revealed that he's always had a love and appreciation for lyric writing, producing, and composing, siting BTS's Suga, Seventeen's Woozi, and Stray Kids's 3Racha as his main inspirations. Netizens were shocked by his all-rounded abilities which is what landed him ranked in third place at the end of the show. The internet was divided on his speech when he failed to mention any of his family, instead choosing to thank his fellow trainees and the fans who supported him.
After the group's debut, it was leaked that the reason Jihun didn't mention his family during the survival program was because they didn't support his decision to become an idol and had ceased contact with him when he'd been accepted into HYBE. Due to this, Jihun was put on hiatus in February of 2023 for nine months due to extreme anxiety and physical health issues caused by stress. His return to the group was announced in November of 2023 in which he posted a long, heart-felt letter on Weverse talking about all he'd thought about during his hiatus.
Fans were relieved to see him rejoin the group better than ever and were excited when it was revealed that he had writing credits on multiple songs for their first comeback of 2024 'To Our Youth'.

hamasaki minato
Minato was born on October 27, 2003 in Sendai, Japan. He is an only child and was born into a family of artists, his mother being a famous painter and his father being a famous pianist in Japan. Minato was originally a J-Pop idol in the fictional boy group XIβUS which debuted in 2017. The company the group was under was eventually exposed for their mistreatment of their idols, prompting an extensive lawsuit and the subsequent disbandment of the group. Minato joined HYBE Entertainment in late 2020 similarly to Sujin and was unable to compete in the first season of I-Land. Due to his former idol experience, he quickly climbed the ranks as a fan favorite on the show, ranking in fourth place in the end.
Minato rarely speaks about his time as a J-Pop idol, many netizens assuming because of the abuse he went through so young, having only been 14 when he first debuted. However, it's been revealed that he is still in close contact with his former members. He was the youngest member in XIβUS and still has that maknae like vibe about him.
He has said that he is close friends with Enhypen's Ni-ki and NCT's Yuta, fans having spotted him with both idols multiple times at award shows and other places. He's said that he loves his members, but it's always nice to have someone you understands what you've been through to get here.

lee hakyung
Lee Hakyung was born on February 29, 2004 in Incheon, South Korea. He has two older siblings (1998 and 1995), but he has kept his family's identities secret. Hakyung joined HYBE Entertainment in 2019 at 15 years old, but opted out of competing in I-Land season one. During the second season of the survival program, many netizens wondered why such a talented trainee would say no when he had a good chance at debuting in Enhypen. Due to his popularity amongst fans because of his visual and talent, he placed first in the second season. His tearful speech only furthered to gain him popularity amongst netizens.
Hakyung, despite being the most popular member, is also often called the shyest member. Members describe him as incredibly humble and bashful, getting flustered easily when he's complimented which they tease him about often. Netizens constantly praise him for his down to earth nature.
Many fans of the group think that his cutest habit is making himself physically smaller than his hyungs despite being the tallest in the group.

Here Together is a six member fictional boy group under BE:LIFT Entertainment. They debuted on September 3rd, 2022 after the second season of I-Land. Through a harrowing second season, the six members were voted in by netizens, solidifying their places as idols.
Their concept is an ever-changing boy crush theme, showcasing their boyfriend-like qualities and charms. The group made their debut with the album 'Beginner's Luck' and title track 'Cloud 9'. Their contrast in concept from their fellow label group, Enhypen, gained them attention, but no music show wins.
The group faced many controveries at the start of their careers, such as Seojun's favoritism within HYBE Entertainment and Minato's past as a J-Pop idol. In spite of all of this, the group has gone on to gain world-wide attention for their visuals and talent.
Their fans, Forevers (read as 'Here Together Forever'), are a dedicated fanbase that have gained attention for their protectiveness over the group. After what these six idols have been through, however, it's understandable that their fans are wary.
