I find it funny that people are so offended over you NOT being offended. Like??? If they're also autistic, they should understand that autism is a spectrum, and we all have different reactions and behaviors when it comes to situations like this. Saying we should all be offended is no different than when neurotypicals stereotype autism and place us into boxes.

And the fact that the behavior is happening during autism awareness month too? lol.

Do better, guys. Get off your high horses. It's okay that you're offended, but you can't tell other neurodivergent people whether they should or shouldn't be offended because that just simply isn't up to you. Your feelings are valid, but so are the feelings of the people who weren't offended. Don't invalidate someone's feelings simply because you share different thoughts and opinions, it goes against practically everything we've fought for in regard to autism awareness and accessibility.

as an autistic person, i’m so sick of other autistic people trying to coax offence out of me. like everyone is different i don’t understand why you’re being called ableist for not being offended when something like that happens i wasn’t offended per se but i was mad about what she did.

i was mad abt it too but i was just mostly confused honestly because it literally just came out of nowhere to me. like it felt like it was suddenly in our face like huh?? i tend to either completely under react or over react or overreact and that’s what i meant when i talked abt everyone being different. i very obv under reacted because im used to ppl being insensitive to me to my face, and i used to have meltdowns abt it but i’ve grown to under react because well what else can i do when it’s to my face. and this being someone being insensitive on the literal internet is why i wasn’t moved, because again, i’m used to it now. i get why someone might think i was being ableist but that wasn’t my intention.

and i’m autistic and found it ridiculously offensive. she had the intent to cause harm with her actions. that was an unfollow for her and an unfollow for anyone that tries to brush that shit off. just a hint babe, being a pick me doesn’t mean the neurotypicals are going to like you. you’ll still be judged for your little “quirks” and have people that try to condition them out of you

i’m wasn’t being a ‘pick me’ ??? everyone is different on how they react to situations that they might find offensive. i’m not belittling anyone who was offended by what bianca did, they have every right to be. i wasn’t brushing it off either, i think the situation wasn’t handled with the weight it deserves and bianca’s apology was horrible, insensitive and incredibly plain and one dimensional. you can’t say “she had the intent to cause harm”, you don’t know her lol and i’m not trying to entertain neurotypicals either, maybe stop assuming things abt ppl in general babe🤷🏽‍♀️ everyone’s tolerance and sensitivity towards different subjects is different, and just because someone finds something offensive, doesnt mean the next person will. i’m not defending bianca, what she did was stupid and insensitive but you don’t have to attack someone that has a different opinion than you. by saying that I personally wasn’t offended, i wasn’t generalising. you going out of your way to say “but i was offended!” doesn’t change anything. i knew other people were offended but i didn’t tell them to not be offended just because i wasn’t and i’m not telling you to not be offended either. i didn’t have anything to say / wasn’t offended because i’ve grown so accustomed to insensitive behaviour from neurotypicals (or any non autistic person) that that situation didn’t move me. we both are autistic but our experiences are different.
