people at work: wow, you are always in such a good mood, how do you do that?
me, an actually cranky, apathetic, trainwreck human: it’s called manners, susan.

Fingerprints
I can’t get his hands of me. I’m covered in all his fingerprints, I scrub at my skin till it bleeds but I can still feel his hands on me. I want to vomit

To My Fellow Survivors
Just because it happens to “so many people” doesn’t mean you have to get over it.
The fact that it happened to others doesn’t diminish what you went through.
Just because it “could have been worse” doesn’t mean your pain isn’t real.
You’re allowed to feel how you feel, and the truth of the matter is that it never should have happened to you.
Sometimes these things are said to try and help. But a lot of the time it invalidates our pain.
You are valid. You are strong. And you take as long as you need to move on. You’re doing just fine.

To my fellow survivors
You are allowed to be angry.
I know society pushes a lot on us but…
Be angry as long as you need. Hate them if you need to. You aren’t alone. Many of us are with you. And actually, I think being angry at them is an important step in healing because you’re beginning to blame them and not yourself.
Just make sure your anger doesn’t consume you and negatively impact you.
Your feelings are valid. Your anger is valid. You are valid.

Quote
When you find yourself drowning in self-hate, you have to remind yourself that you weren’t born feeling this way. That at some point in your journey, some person or experience sent you the message that there was something wrong with who you are, and you internalized those messages and took them on as your truth. But that hate isn’t yours to carry, and those judgments aren’t about you. And in the same way that you learned to think badly of yourself, you can learn to think new, self-loving and accepting thoughts. You can learn to challenge those beliefs, take away their power, and reclaim your own. It won’t be easy, and it won’t happen over night. But it is possible. And it starts when you decide that there has to be more to life than this pain you feel. It starts when you decide that you deserve to discover it.

Sites I visit when I need a mental break
Tumblr media
These are what I use when I need a break at work or from studying. I like them because they usually take just enough time for me to enjoy without feeling super guilty.
Commaful: stories are super short and perfect for quick breaks. they have everything from fanfiction to poetry. try to stick to just one tho otherwise you’ll get sucked in Bouncy Balls: Bounce balls. The most mindless thing ever. just bouncy, bouncy, bouncy Mental Floss: learn epic stuff. you’ll learn everything from pop culture to tech to history and more!! short and fun Don’t Even Reply: I started reading this and couldn’t stop laughing at work…it’s some dude trolling people on craigslist. i can’t….stop….laughing…. This Is My Website Now: Fun little games, takes just a few minutes but great for a break Oddee: REALLY REALLY weird stories Pixel Thoughts: this is more when you have a tough day or a rough time. a short little meditation fixes everything right up! Silk: Create dreamy works of art with your mouse. Have fun subconsciously drawing genitalia. Akinator, The Web Genius: This magical genie thing that is stuck in your computer and can read minds. It was 2/3 for me. not bad!
WARNING: I am not responsible for late homework assignments, missed quotes, or deadlines
