5 symptoms of low oil on automatic transmission

It is a fact that normally the car owner has no idea what may be going on with his car and almost always, he or she has no knowledge about the problems that automatic transmissions usually face.
With the increase in sales of cars equipped with automatic transmission, it would be a great idea if you, who own one, have at least a closer idea of the behavior of possible symptoms before they start to grow. Problems with automatic transmissions, if left out, quickly become a snowball and crucial (and expensive) components can suffer irreparable damage.
1 - Problems in gear changes
A common symptom of problems with foreign exchange is the shifts in gear changes. Although this happens a lot in cars with manual transmission, it should only happen to them, since jerks are usually caused by imprecision in changes, which is a characteristic of human beings and not of electronic devices that are not concerned with arriving sooner or later late at work. So, if your automatic car has sudden gear changes or jerks, which can show up as a type of punch when the gears shift to a higher one, this can be the harbinger of problems and the low fluid level can be the villain. If you notice that the gears are slow to enter or just seem to disappear when the changes happen, it can be even worse, as this indicates a transmission with serious failures.
2 - Skating
Another problem that manifests itself frequently is skating. This is usually determined by the lack of timing between the engine and the vehicle. This symptom manifests itself with an increase in engine speed without the vehicle accompanying it with an increase in speed, much like when the driver stands with his foot on the clutch pedal, triggering it inadvertently.

3 - Strange noise
The normal is a totally silent automatic transmission. However, there are cases where noises can manifest, for example, when the torque converter (agent that plays the role of the clutch in most automatics) is in need of intervention due to natural wear, it is possible to hear a kind of pulse. If you start to hear strange noises coming from the transmission, it is best to take it to the workshop to check as soon as possible. Metal noise or sudden or hard changes can also indicate low oil level.
4 - Excessive heating
Heat is a poison for automatic transmission and if it increases, this means that its transmission can fail at any time due to low fluid level or loss of its physical and chemical properties. Working at high temperature is the main reason for the premature death of an automatic transmission. Everything or almost everything inside the exchange about severely with the excessive heat. There are cases of complete destruction of the exchange, especially in imported cars whose transmission was originally designed to run in colder countries and on better roads.
5 – Leaks
One of the most obvious signs is when we identify oil leakage from the gearbox. A yellow or red spot in your garage should be interpreted with the same concern as bleeding. In addition to having the cooling function, the transmission fluid is vital to its ability to function. It is very important to check the fluid level of the automatic transmission and watch for leaks. It is easy to identify, because of the color that is lighter, ranging from red to yellow and also because the smell is very characteristic. If the smell is burning and the color of the oil is dark, you are really facing a problem, as it means that the oil is working overtime inside the transmission.
