She’s getting the point fairly quickly he needs someone BUILT for this world, someone who knows how to get shit done. Then again - why the fuck did the past matter so damned much? He’s looking for something specific. “I was a cop, joined the academy pretty quick out of school. As soon as those assholes would take me. Came from some fuckin’ shit roots.” Her family was ghetto as hell, it was the drive that swore her to being an officer. “You need me to PROVE something, Hell give me a shot. I’ll take it. Whatever floats your boat.” There’s a strong sense of apathy in the woman’s tone either way - she could use this group, they were STRONG, but at the same time she could survive. She is more than capable of doing so.

The endearing attitude is kind of sickening but in a GOOD way, still the fear of going back to that moment of losing EVERYONE. Maybe moving on would be easier with someone like him by her side. “Fuck I ain’t tryin’ hard enough then, you haven’t even seen my worst BREAKDOWN.” Hard to believe he is making her smile. “Look -- Damian, tsk you’re the closest I’ve been to someone in years. ‘Spose I ain’t got nothing to lose. I can try.”
