I’m watching The Big Bang Theory in its natural setting—playing in the background of a hot spiral room—and I can say within that specific context, it is a very charming show. Like the saltine crackers of media.

Kitty Kitty was begging me to turn the sink on, but I was running so hard on autopilot that I didn't register that she wanted the sink to be Just A Little On, and I ended up turning it on full blast while her head was right under the faucet. Luckily she, like me, only possesses 3 brain cells, so she didn't consider getting upset, and instead just stared at me while purring as her forehead became increasingly drenched and I realized what I had done.

Ok, so this has been eating me up for a while now, and when I say a while I mean ever since Transformers RID 2015 came out, and I just really need to get this off of my chest. 

Bumblebee should not have been the main character in this show. 

Nothing against you Bee, I love you baby, really I do, but in my personal opinion, the protagonist of RID should’ve been this guy

Now before you raise your pitchforks, hear me out on this, because there is a method to my madness, I assure you!

As I said before, I have absolutely nothing against Bumblebee or the folks who love the series as is, but this is really what would’ve pushed the show into the same league as Prime. At least story/conflict wise.

So imagine this folks: The series could start out the exact same way, in which the audience follows the exploits of Bumblebee as he tries to mentor Strongarm, apprehends Sideswipe, and revealing how much Cybertron has flourished under Autobot rule. But instead of him being confronted with the image of Prime’s ghost, it cuts to the cities outskirts. To the wastelands of Cybertron where we see the self exiled Megatron living in complete isolation from the world; believing his removal from society as the best course of action as repentance for the destruction he led against the galaxy.

Now picture, if you will, Optimus materializing before the ex-Decepticon leader, urging him to return to Earth if he truly seeks redemption from his past misdeeds. 

And picture also Bumblebee, and his two sidekicks, tailing the con to the Cybertron History Museum as he attempts to follow the former Prime’s wishes. This would immediately leave the lot of them Earthbound and stranded. But the beauty of this series whole new set up would be

Megatron is now in charge of a motley crew, who are a far cry from a well trained army

He has to find a way to curve his destructive behavior and not destroy anyone as they slowly learn to hold their own in battles

Bumblebee, including the others, have to set aside their own distrust for the ex-Con in order to save Earth 

Megatron is seen as either a traitor or an impostor by the Decepticon rogues and has to deal with that annoying mess

Human companions are a thing and Megatron doesn’t like it

Learning the ways of the Autobots is tricky but not impossible

Bumblebee becoming the mama hen of the group while Megatron is the stern father type

The list goes on and on, but in general, I think the series would’ve been much more…. interesting… had Megatron been the main character. To see him struggle coexisting with Autobots and humans, to attempt to train green horns with limited resources, to earn the trust of Bumblebee and others, to over come his past, to fight against his own faction who deem him a traitor now, to save a planet he nearly destroyed, seems like a pretty cool premise and continuation for Transformers Prime. 

But those are just my thoughts.
