I’ve always been drawn to the calming effects of blue hues. Blue has always been my favorite color. The value of the blue in my bedroom walls is soft and light, giving the room a peaceful, airy feeling. The intensity and saturation of the blue aren’t overwhelming, so it doesn’t feel too strong, but it still adds a sense of clarity and calm to the space. I like to open my windows and let the sunlight blend in with the blue hues. I’ve noticed that this particular shade helps me relax after long days, and I feel more focused when studying in this environment. If I had to pick a color scheme for my life, I’d choose a mix of earthy tones like greens and browns, with hints of deep blues. These colors have low to medium intensity, keeping things grounded and balanced while also giving a sense of renewal and calm.

Unity & Variety: Unity refers to making sure all parts of a design work together to create a sense of harmony. Variety adds interest by including different elements so that things don’t feel too repetitive or boring.
Example: Think of a car’s design. While it might have a unified color scheme, there’s variety in its details like different textures or the way the headlights and grille are designed.
Balance: Balance is about distributing visual weight in a design so it feels stable. It can be symmetrical, where both sides are the same, or asymmetrical, where elements are different but still balanced.
Example: In a room setup, balancing a large couch with smaller pieces of décor or furniture on the other side creates a sense of visual stability.
Emphasis & Subordination: Emphasis is when certain parts of a design stand out and grab attention, while subordination allows other elements to take a backseat so the main focus shines.
Example: In presentations, a speaker’s voice and main points are often emphasized, while the background visuals are more subtle so they don’t distract from the main message.
Directional Forces: This refers to how a design guides your eye in a specific direction. Elements like lines, shapes, or movement can pull your attention from one part of the design to another.
Example: Arrows on signs are an obvious example—they direct our eyes and attention to where we need to go.
Repetition & Rhythm: Repetition is about repeating elements, like colors or shapes, to create a consistent look, while rhythm is the visual flow created by that repetition.
Example: In clothing design, repeating patterns create a rhythmic, coordinated look, much like how a song's beat repeats to create rhythm in music.
Scale & Proportion: Scale refers to how big or small something is in relation to other things, while proportion is the relationship between the sizes of different parts of a design.
Example: In architecture, a building with tall doors looks grand, while furniture that’s proportionate to the size of a room feels comfortable and balanced.

Writing a self-portrait. I am a 27-year-old Mexican American, born in Bradenton, Florida, and raised in small country town of Arcadia. I now live in Sarasota, where I work as a registered nurse, a profession I've dedicated myself to for the past three years. My ethnicity is Hispanic, and I take great pride in my cultural heritage. The “Last Supper”, was painted by Leonardo de Vincu, was created between 1495 and 1498. The artwork was commissioned by Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, and it is located in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. I think this art work is beautiful as it holds religious and symbolic meaning. It presents the final meal that Jesus Christ shared with his twelve apostles before his crucification.
