TV shows and movies that bring me joy. Roswell NM, The 100, The Orville, and Brooklyn 99 are current favorites. Aliens is the best film ever created. Ever. icon by malexhq.

The last season of "The 100" is so bad.
Like, trying to beat out Game of Thrones for "Worst Last Season that Ruins the Entire Series" bad.

I am so sad Carina is leaving Roswell NM. I personally never took issue with her and was a big fan. I enjoyed the stories of the first 2 seasons so much and this show quickly became my new favorite thing on TV. People on here were absolutely AWFUL in regards to her, I could barely read some of the stuff said about her.
Well you got what you wanted.
But you have lost someone who created Malex. Who obviously took their relationship seriously, was moving them in the right direction, and had openly stated she would not kill off the Alex character. I mean, it looks like a big reason behind her resignation is because she was defending Malex being edited out of the show (how dare she?!)!
Who knows what we will get now.
I hope you're happy, because I most certainly am not.

It's been a week since the finale aired, I've watched it a few more times since then, and I'm ready to share my feelings on the finale of season 2 of Roswell New Mexico, episode 13, "Mr. Jones".
To begin, I have to say I was really surprised by how quickly they wrapped up the events at crashcon. They really pitched it as more of a 2-part episode and I didn't feel- other than the first 10 minutes- that that was an accurate statement. Although, I very much enjoyed seeing Jessie Manes die. Good riddance, sir.
Moving right along, I think I'll tackle this episode a character at a time. Let's start with Maria, I thought once again, that she was highly underutilized in the season finale, and that is really starting to get old. While they did a much better job of including her character this season and throwing out some stuff that I'm really, REALLY interested to learn more about, she was more or less a useless character in this episode other than to serve them up a box full of plot. Please do better in season 3 and please tell me more about what is going on with Mimi DeLuca because she is a fascinating character.
I thought it was good that they ended the Michael and Maria relationship- I feel the show has done a good job of showing throughout the season that she is not in fact stupid or blind and she sees what's going on between Michael and Alex. I think she realized she was never going to be that person for him, and as a person who is in your late 20s and early 30s, you're not going to waste your time on that.
On to the next most useless character in this particular episode, Kyle. If there is one character that was completely wasted this entire season, it had to be Kyle. Michael Trevino spent the whole first season getting me slowly on board with him playing that character and then blew the acting out of the water in the season 1 finale. And what was he given in season 2? A whole lot of nothing. What a waste. And no, I'm not a Steph fan. I did enjoy the interaction between Kyle and Alex at the end of the episode but would have liked to have seen a lot more.
Now moving on to the characters that were actually doing something in this episode. I thought it was a pretty reasonable end for the Rosa character. She hasn't really been my favorite this season, but I didn't really dislike her. I've just been kind of ambivalent where she was concerned. I liked seeing her confront her mom and I liked seeing her follow through with finishing rehab.
Next up, Michael and Alex. I have been pretty pleased with how they have chosen to write those two characters all season long. I really enjoyed Alex and Michael destroying the shed. It was a truly perfect moment for those characters. Then you follow that up with the scenes of them reading the diary together, finding out their ancestors were love and it was cosmic just like them. Yes, yes, yes I'm here for this. And the song that Alex sang? It was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard and I've been listening to it many times a day, everyday, since the episode aired. Absolutely beautiful. And, absolutely cemented that Malex we'll be together eventually (for me, at least). That's all I needed to know.
Next up, Isobel. She has hands down become my favorite character this season. Her story was so beautiful and watching her find herself was just amazing. Not to mention that along the way she really changed into this wonderful, kind person that was not there in the first season. Snaps for Isobel, she is a queen. I had thought perhaps they were going to try to have Rosa be her love interest next season (which I personally don't love, Rosa is so much younger) but now that Charlie seems to be sticking around my vote is leaning that way.
I enjoyed both Cameron and her sister's storyline this season, but I am a little confused as to why they're seemingly getting more storylines than characters like, you know main cast Maria and Kyle? I don't love that. But I did enjoy the Cameron sisters story this season.
Finally, my babies Max and Liz. While I want the show to include more sci-fi and therefore I am all on board with storylines where Max is able to figure out more alien things, I didn't love the secret keeping and the two of them actively doing things that are going to drive them apart. Do I think it will last? Absolutely not, they're Max and Liz, they're meant to be and you cannot change my mind on that. Which is why I feel like their break up at the end of the season didn't even affect me. Because I know at the end of the day they'll be back together, I'm just not sure how.
Finally, the ending. I was super excited to see that it was a Max doppelganger as about halfway through the season I had started to think that that might be the case, so it was nice to feel validated. I also thought it was nice to have the season end on a totally different note, tone-wise, than the first season had. For me, this finale was really a complete flip from the season 1 finale as far as how I felt when it was done. When season 1 was done I was borderline devastated, partially because DEAD MAX and partially because there was no second season confirmed at that point so perhaps it also helps that there's already going to be a season 3 so I don't have that worry on my mind. But I legit cackled when he said, "Howdy, partners."
Overall, I really enjoyed this season. I think I like season one better, but it's pretty close. There was a lot to like about this season. And I did think that this finale episode was a really great ending to the season.

-I want to be with someone who doesn’t make me feel anxious all the time. You know, someone who makes me feel like I can just be myself, and that’s enough. That’s how you make me feel, Victor. -That’s how you make me feel, too.
