Emily accidentally called Beca and Chloe “Dad and Mom” to their faces when asking them something kinda like when ur in elementary school and u accidentally call the teacher mom or dad and then ur friends are like hmmmmmmmm time to Tease

omg. i love, let’s do this:

the bellas are at rehearsals going on hour three and they’re all kind of exhausted

emily has a question about the arrangement and when she approaches beca and chloe during a 5 min break she goes “dad? mom? can we go over the beat in this part of the set?”

all the bellas hear her and everyone kind of just stares at her for a moment

emily doesn’t notice, looking at beca and chloe, waiting for her question to be answered

beca and chloe exchange a look and beca then looks at emily with a quirked eyebrow

“what” emily asks, then looks around to see everyone else just staring at her

“um, what?” she asks again

“you just called beca and chloe dad and mom” fat amy tells her

emily frowns “no i didn’t”

When Emily is six, her family moves to Virginia for her father’s new job. There is a blonde girl playing on her scooter when they arrive. She looks a few years older than Emily herself, but the girl is immediately riding over to say hello when Emily hops out of the car.

“I’m Aubrey Posen,” the blonde girl states matter-of-factly. “I’m eight years old.”

Emily’s a shy child, but behind her she sees her mother give her an encouraging nod and smile.

“My name is Emily Junk,” she says quietly, hands behind her back and shoulders hunched. “I’m six.”
