HELP SHIRA SURVIVE A TRANSMISOGYNIST ATTEMPTED MURDER

Shira is a Turkish trans woman who was the victim of attempted murder by a man on the street who realized she was transfemme. After he stabbed her, dozens of people walked by her on the sidewalk until a teenager stopped and helped her.
Shira is now in the hospital in critical condition. She’s undergone emergency surgery and will need multiple operations and long-term care to recover—physically and emotionally.
Shira has no close family nearby, is not accepted by public organizations in Turkey because she is trans, and she’s unable to work while she heals. Her friends are raising funds to cover her medical bills, therapy, and basic living expenses during this painful time.
As of me posting this, the fundraiser has €125 out of a €12k goal. If you can’t give anything to help a trans woman survive a horrific attack, please at least reblog this, set it on your queue, whatever you need to do to make sure others can see and help. Thank you.

i’m just like “not watching this movie is literally the bare minimum you can do to help not push an imperialistic tourist agenda that’s destroying native Hawai‘i. just don’t.” and im already pre-irritated bc i know like thirty people are gonna be like i knowww but. i just wanna.

Malcolm X and Ho Chi Minh - 1970s poster
"You put the government on the spot when you even mention Vietnam. They feel embarrassed — you notice that?… It's just a trap that they let themselves get into. … But they're trapped, they can't get out. You notice I said 'they.' They are trapped, They can't get out. If they pour more men in, they'll get deeper. If they pull the men out, it's a defeat. And they should have known that in the first place. France had about 200,000 Frenchmen over there, and the most highly mechanized modern army sitting on this earth. And those little rice farmers ate them up, and their tanks, and everything else. Yes, they did, and France was deeply entrenched, had been there a hundred or more years. Now, if she couldn't stay there and was entrenched, why, you are out of your mind if you think Sam can get in over there. But we're not supposed to say that. If we say that, we're anti-American, or we're seditious, or we're subversive…. They put Diem over there. Diem took all their money, all their war equipment and everything else, and got them trapped. Then they killed him. Yes, they killed him, murdered him in cold blood, him and his brother, Madame Nhu's husband, because they were embarrassed. They found out that they had made him strong and he was turning against them…. You know, when the puppet starts talking back to the puppeteer, the puppeteer is in bad shape….." — ― Malcolm X, 1965
“It is well known that the black race is the most oppressed and most exploited of the human family. It is well known that the spread of capitalism and the discovery of the New World had as an immediate result the rebirth of slavery which was, for centuries, a scourge for the Negroes and a bitter disgrace for mankind. What everyone does not perhaps know, is that after sixty-five years of so-called emancipation, American Negroes still endure atrocious moral and material sufferings, of which the most cruel and horrible is the custom of lynching.” ― Hồ Chí Minh

Hey guys, I wanted to tell you about the Ihyaa' initiative. My friend Mohammed Ayesh, who's been our vetter on the ground in Ghazzah for the last year or so, wants to make a space and provide resources for University students to complete their studies in a proper learning environment, along with providing food parcels, stationary, and other essentials. You may have heard of the Isnad initiative! It's very similar to the Ihyaa' initiative but it's located elsewhere. They had to find the right room to use as a classroom for the Ihyaa' initiative and they're going to be paying rent of 2000$ for it. Mohammed Ayesh has informed me that starting on Monday this rent will begin.
University students are the foundation of a better and rebuilt Ghazzah! If you want to help Ghazzah rebuild, this is one of the first steps you can start assisting with.

working in landlord/tenant law, the one thing that has genuinely surprised me is how many landlords straight up do not follow housing regulations in a variety of ways (I've seen people charging first and last month's rent which is illegal where I am, not posting required notices, not registering the unit, etc.) and all of these things are affirmative defenses if they ever try to evict you for any reason. but how would the average person know that.
anyway I very strongly urge you to look into the basics of housing regulations in your city and state (many times cities have more strict laws than the state, for instance LA where I live has quite a few explicitly pro-tenant ordinances that are not applicable to the rest of CA) just to inform yourself and to be aware of this stuff. if you need help lmk

the met gala is tonight, and i know a lot of us are excited for it. and why not, it's a fun event! but while we're here, please spare some thought for the people of palestine as well. they don't have a platform nearly as big as the met gala does, but they need it more desperately and they need it urgently.
i don't know if any celebrity at the gala is going to mention palestine or speak out for them. but we don't need to wait for a celebrity to show support or tell us what to do. we have power too. every single one of us here has a voice, and the power to uplift others using that voice. we don't need one person to donate thousands. but even if a hundred people donated $5 each that's $500 put towards helping a family survive. and that means more to gazans than i can say.
if you can afford it, please donate to anyone from @gazavetters's spreadsheet (here). if you're uncertain or cannot choose, then please consider:
my friend ibrahim @aburakhiaibrahim (vet | paypal | gfm)
the isnad foundation @isnaddfoundation which provides gazan students with a safe space to study and continue their education (vet | chuffed)
my friend mahmoud @ma7moudgaza2 who is the founder of isnad (paypal | gfm)
if you cannot donate, please reblog so that the post can reach someone who can. thank you.

The Abu Alwan family (Samar, Mohammed, and their three young children, as well as Mohammed's parents and his brother's family) are going to be evicted soon. Their landlord wants to return to his house after he marries.
They urgently need money to buy a tent, or they will be completely without shelter.
The paypal fundraiser from my last post is listing a lot of donations as "pending" and they then have to be individually disputed. Instead, you can help via:
Venmo: gothhabiba Paypal: paypal.me/Najia Cashapp: $NajiaK
all with note "🍓" or "strawberry"
🍓 $185 / $1,500 🍓
Thank you to all who have donated and shared to help this family so far.

My breaks from tumblr aren't even intentional anymore, I just genuinely don't know what's left for me to say. I've dedicated this blog to talking about Palestine and spreading awareness for at least the past 13 years and never has it been more difficult to articulate and put into words the daily horrors we're bearing witness to.
Over 100 people were massacred in Gaza today, over 30 of them in an Israeli strike against a school. I saw two headless babies in the past three days alone. I saw at least five headless Palestinian babies in the past 15 months.
I hate this world so, so much.

🚨🟢 Hamas:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Netanyahu and his Nazi government resume their aggression and genocidal war against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip.
We hold the criminal Netanyahu and the Nazi-zionist occupation fully responsible for the repercussions of the treacherous aggression on Gaza, and for the defenseless civilians and our besieged Palestinian people, who are subjected to a brutal war and a systematic policy of starvation.
Netanyahu and his extremist government have decided to overturn the ceasefire agreement, exposing the prisoners in Gaza to an unknown fate.
We demand that the mediators hold Netanyahu and the zionist occupation fully responsible for violating and overturning the agreement.
We call on the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to assume their historical responsibility in supporting the steadfastness and valiant resistance of our Palestinian people, and in breaking the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
We call on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to convene urgently to adopt a resolution obligating the occupation to halt its aggression and abide by Resolution 2735, which calls for an end to the aggression and withdrawal from the entire Gaza Strip.

EMERGENCY : HELP TWO DISABLED LESBIANS GET OUT OF THEIR INCREDIBLY ABUSIVE & VIOLENT HOUSEHOLD
heyyy guys... making a new post because our situation continues to decline and change for the worse so rapidly.
long story short, we are in an incredibly abusive, hostile, and violent situation that just keeps getting worse as the days go on. our life has been ruined and no one around us cares at all.
we are being physically threatened and intimidated. our lives have been threatened by a man that knows where we live and has the ability to just come and go as he pleases and we have genuinely no escape. we are stuck being forced to care for my 8 year old brother and my abusive mother, who did not care at all when we were being threatened, berated, and attacked especially because she herself has done all of the same things and we genuinely have no escape from her.
it took over an hour to get ahold of my mother, who invited this man over when she was not even home & after i've repeatedly begged her to not let him anywhere near us (for this exact reason), so i texted her what had happened. she admitted to seeing all of my messages but just ignoring them because she didn't want to deal with it. she did not care at all. it took me sobbing and begging her to do anything at all, because she was genuinely the only person that could help in any way. we were forced to go back to the house after he "said he'd leave", we had to sit in our locked car down the street and watch him go. we were not allowed to stay gone because everyone has made my brother our responsibility, and the only car we have access to is my mother's since i've been forced out of work to be a fulltime caretaker and my car has already been repossessed.
we were terrified, we still are terrified. i have known this man since i was 13 and he meant every threat that he made, he's gotten much bolder now that i'm an adult. the only reason he stopped at all was because my brother started to shout for him down the stairs. this is something i never wanted luna exposed to, and something i haven't had to deal with in years. we are traumatized.
we cannot do this anymore. we just need to save up the money to at the very least get a beater car as cheap as possible, so we have somewhere to sleep rather than us just being on the street. we just need to be out of this house and so far away from this whole situation. we appreciate all the support and donations we've gotten over the past couple months more than words could ever say, you all have allowed us to have food and medicine. thank you so much. we hate to be doing this again and for so long but we genuinely have no other options. i'm going to be contacting every domestic abuse hotline and non-profits near us i can think of to get all of our options and resources, we are trying to get everything in order but the one thing i know is we need a car more than anything.
we've lost everything. we are stuck with people who don't care if we live or die. genuinely no one around us cares about anything we are going through or what they are putting us through. the only person that cares enough to offer us a safer place is luna's mother, who lives 1,000 miles across the country. we just need a car that drives and we could be free.
our cashapp and paypal are both curtiswldr, thank you everyone, im sorry for doing this so much. we appreciate all of you more than anything for sharing and donating.
