It was pouring down, meaning the bookstore was absolutely packed. She made her way to the counter and queued to pay for her large stack of books. Eventually she got to the desk and was able to pay and leave. Just as she was leaving the store, someone walked directly into her. “Watch it!” She snapped, wobbling on her feet and glaring at the other.
@halfparkinson
She’d been running errands left and right. The amount of furniture gathered in her arms reaching a whole new height, literally. It had gotten so high, Cordelia had troubles seeing where she was going. But she had to come to a halt when she collided into someone, threatening the precarious stability of the stock in her arms. “Oh, I apologize! I can barely even see with all of this.” She apologized quickly as soon as she made sure nothing had fallen to the ground.

Fortunately, the other was much too young to have gone to school with Emma, or at the very least when she was finishing, so that left little for her to worry over especially given that she hardly seemed the type to care for quidditch. “ That’s quite the compliment, I’m sure though I’m pretty set in my no. You must understand, in times like these, having one’s face plastered everywhere is never a good thing. Why not model the dress yourself?” She suggested, though it was clear that the two had very different body styles, the other was still cute, and had a figure going for her. “Very little, truthfully.” Emma honestly replied.
Although probably not meant in the sense she got them, Emma’s words brought a frown on her face. “What do you mean? If you don’t mind me asking, that is. But you made it sound like having people recognize your face would be bad. Do you... have something to hide?” Of course, she knew about the war, she’d been caught in it despite not wanting to. Which lead her to believe perhaps the other had a part in it, if she didn’t want to appear anywhere. “Very little... that means there is still something that could make you change your mind.”

The brunette almost always had a craving for something, but often tried to suppress it around other people. Some people were uncomfortable with her binge eating, and she respected it. So, she often reserved those times for days she was by herself or with Will, or someone she knew wouldn’t give a damn or her parents, to piss them off. So, as the night drew closer to the clock striking midnight, it wasn’t a surprise that her cravings were getting worse and worse. So, glad to be the one to break the conversation in a desperation for food, she was even more pleased to learn that Cordelia was as hungry as she. “You’re just as able to say something too, you know..” she teased, chuckling at the lingering polish on the other’s cheek. “Don’t worry, that’ll come off, I have some baby wipes in the kitchen…they do wonders when you have a puppy running around.” She pointed out, though she preferred them to regular makeup wipes, as they weren’t as harsh to the skin. “Only one way to find out,” she wiggled her brows, closing up her nail polish and standing, starting towards the kitchen and expecting the other to follow.
Upon hearing her own stomach, Cordelia couldn’t stop a laugh from escaping her lips. Both because of the grumbling sound, and the words of Astrid. It had been such a habit to wait before expressing she was hungry, she often forgot she shouldn’t worry much about it around her friend. “I suppose I could’ve. But what matters is we both agree, and we’re getting something to eat.” She added on a much more positive note, before waving her hand in the air. “Ah, that’s fine. I’ve sported a lot worse than polish on my cheek. As surprising as that may sound.” Mostly when she stayed up late, or worked longer than usual, turning her hair into a mess and her makeup smudged. With occasionally a few lines of a pen over her face. Everyone had those days, so she never minded much about it when it happened to her. “Please, have some gummy bears.” Lia said, shorty following after the other.

“I don’t make it a habit to walk into walls,” Peter noted. “I just wasn’t paying attention.” He stated, still looking rather embarrassed as he really hadn’t meant to walk into a wall. “But really. Thank you for fixing it.” He said.
“I hope so. Because I won’t always be around to fix your broken nose.” She joked, letting out a soft giggle. Which died out not that long after. But that was just the kind of short-lived giggle. “Stop thanking me. Or that will become a habit and you’ll thank me for everything. Even breathing.”

“I told you.” Amycus said. People seemed to doubt him a lot, which Amycus did not appreciate. He was good at everything he did, from his job to being a manipulative ass to get more people to join the Death Eaters.·“Now. How about a dance?” He asked. He was trying very hard to be gentlemanly as he knew that would be the best way to win her over.·
Even in the small amount of time it took for him to reply, Cordelia’s eyes had already wandered off to look at all the dresses twirling around. Which was not surprising, seeing as she was obsessed with clothes. But his voice brought her attention back. “Oh.” Was the first thing that left her lips before she could form a sentence. “I suppose it wouldn’t hurt.” She agreed. As it hadn’t been half bad so far, what were the odds it’d get bad now?”

Amycus frowned as he watched his knife fly halfway down the road. He held his hand out and accioed it back, sliding it into its sheath on his side so he didn’t have to worry about Lia making it disappear again. “I want you to accompany me to the New Years Ball that the ministry is hosting.” He said.
Even though Amycus placed the knife back in its sheath, Cordelia didn’t put her wand back. She was never sure she could trust him, even if they were in public. But his words did take her by surprise, leaving her silent before she could reply. “Now why would I go there with you? I’d rather kiss a giant slug than being your date for the Ball.”

“I mean, I’ve been complimented. I just don’t really take them well cause I don’t really see it in all honesty,” He rambled, cheeks flushing pink.
“Oh, how so? I mean, aren’t compliments supposed to make you feel a little better about yourself? Not the opposite.” She said, allowing a small frown to form on her face.

“ Definitely not going to happen, nude posing is reserved for special occasions, and certainly without anything orange close by.” Sirius pointed out, grimacing at the mere thought of it. If it were anyone else but Lia, they would’ve made some sort of flirtatious remark but, Sirius respected Peter too much for that. “ I’ll consider it, no promises, first, you’ll have to show me what you want me to model in…then, and only then, will I consider it. I can’t be caught dead in anything that’ll wash me out.”
“Special occasions, I see. I don’t suppose you can expand on that?” She joked, although she had quite a clear idea of what they meant by that. And she’d rather avoid thinking about it. She considered them, all four of them, too much as friends to even try to think about it. “I thought you would’ve trusted me more than that. But I pinky promise to show you before we make a deal.” She grinned, raising up her hand, very serious about the pinky promise.

Peter had initially been upset when he saw the Lia had gone to the ball with Amycus freaking Carrow. He had whined about it to his friends but their solutions were to go find someone else he thought was cute and to dance with her. Somehow that seemed impossible to Peter. He was bad at this whole talking to people thing and he didn’t want to like anyone else. He wasn’t paying attention as he made his way to the table with food and accidentally bumped into Lia. “Oh um I’m sorry.” He said.
@halfparkinson
Although she couldn’t say he was the perfect date, Amycus certainly wasn’t as bad as she expected him to be. So far, he’d kept the talks about purity and all that to the bare minimum, which was just perfect. But being stuck with him for a whole night was a lot, and using the excuse she wanted to get something to drink, she managed to escape from him, at least for some time. Though she’d barely made it there that someone bumped into her. “Peter!” Lia said, a grin instantly forming on her lips. “I didn’t know you came here, you should’ve told me!”

When she first agreed to go to that ball with Amycus, Cordelia was convinced it’d be a pain - and certainly the worst way to end a year and start a new one. She was diving into backwards, not even sure she wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. But as the night went on, she realized it wasn’t as bad as she expected. Of course, she would’ve had a lot more fun on her own, but he proved to have convincing arguments. “Alright, I’ll admit, I didn’t expect to appreciate this thing with you this much. But it really isn’t that bad.”

“You– you what?” Theo blinked at the other, staring at her in confusion. “My… figure?” The man looked down at his scrawny, lanky figure before looking back at the girl. “What?”
She couldn’t stop the laugh that quickly escaped her lips when he spoke. “What? You’ve never had anyone complimenting you before? I’d be surprised, you look amazing.”

“You say that as though it’s meant to surprise me, PARKINSON,” a soft chuckle escaped them, a puff of smoke quickly dispersing as soon as it appeared, the coldness in the air being made evident. Sirius was never a shy individual, and loved toying with others, especially when it came to their own self confidence. “But I do have some restrictions, I refuse to pose nude unless a profit is involved, and I don’t wear orange, it doesn’t suit my complexion.”
A soft giggle escaped her lips at Sirius’ words. She really shouldn’t even be surprised about those, she had it coming. “Oh, that’s too bad! I wanted to make you pose nude with only an orange hat, guess I’ll have to find someone else!” She joked. Despite having an idea in her mind, it wouldn’t stop her from teasing a little more, particularly not around them. “But really, Sirius, I have a great idea! No orange involved, I swear.”

♜- Midnight snacks
Astrid and Cordelia were two years apart, but with both having a passion that falled under the arts, it wasn’t surprising they’d found a way to bond, both during their years at Hogwarts, as well as after. The older girl often reached out to her in hopes she’d be of help when it come to the costume department of any film project she was working on. So, within no time, the two had managed to form a TIGHT bond, often having late nights at her uncle’s place.Now was they were sitting around, chattering away about nonsense and doing one another’s nails, Astrid heard an instant roar in her stomach causing her to jump some and accidentally get polish on the other’s skin. “Oops,” she slipped out, doubling over in laughter. “Think it’s time to ditch the beauty products and raid the kitchen or order in something, anything, my stomach is DYING over here..you in?”
Truth was, Cordelia had been hungry for some time now. Which wasn’t surprising, she was always eating. More like she would always be eating if people wouldn’t judge her so much for it. So instead, she’d grown used to acting like she wasn’t starving, and doing nail polish was just the perfect distraction. Although this wasn’t why she came here in the first place, she could never say no to nail polish. But feeling the brush against her cheek, she quickly raised a hand to feel it, getting some of the pink polish on her fingers. She let out a small giggle before nodding at her friend. “I was waiting for you to say that! I’m craving... anything you have, really.”

Never a social person, Emma hadn’t minded going into hiding, at times, she preferred it to being in the constant spotlight, despite longing for the pitch and some of the people in her past, she was content with her life. Still not a cordial individual, Emma had become better at putting up a front of false sweetness. So, the second the younger girl approached her, Emma forced a half smile at the compliment. “I’m not quite the modelling type, you’d have more luck elsewhere.” The last thing she needed was for someone to take photos of her and have them plastered about.
Lia shook her head strongly at the other’s words, but the grin stayed well on her lips. When she had something in mind, she’d stick with it - at least she found the next greatest idea. And in this instant, she did believe this woman would be perfect for the dress she had in mind. “Oh but it’d only be one dress, and I couldn’t imagine anyone else wearing it!” She started, tilting her head slightly to the side as an idea struck her. “What would make you change your mind? I’m sure we can find something we’d both agree on.

A beam of inspiration seemed to hit her when she saw the person walking in front of her. It took no time before Cordelia made quick steps to reach them, making them stop as she stood in front of them herself. “You have one of the most beautiful. interesting figure I’ve seen! Would you mind modelling a few outfits for me? I have so many ideas of what I could create for you!” She said, all in one go. Her grin didn’t falter as she looked up at the other person, sincerely hoping for a positive response.
