Sketches exhibited from the Umbrella Movement, displayed in the 'I object: Ian Hislop's search for dissent' exhibition at the British Museum, London. Powerful, thought-provoking, and so much funnier than I was expecting.

Temple of Isis (Pompeii) The construction of the temple of Isis dates back to the 2nd century BC. C., during the mandate of Augusto. After the Pompeii earthquake of 62 the entire building was rebuilt with “opus latericium” As a result of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79, it was buried under a thick layer of ash and lapilli.

“The best door in Paris, France At 29 Avenue Rapp in the 7th arrondissement, very close to the Eiffel Tower. Built between 1899 and 1901, this Art Nouveau masterpiece by Jules Lavirotte is quite striking. The detailed door was designed by sculptor Jean-Baptiste Larrive and sculpted by a variety of others. If you happen to be in Paris, seek this beauty out!” Photo : W. Brian Duncan
