Commenter is right-- if the character's death is for one of those two reasons, those are not good enough on their own to justify character death. Trying to 'make the readers feel something' is how you get "who do you think took your ovaries" and similar ten-cent tearjerker pap. Because tears are cheap. You don't need to work very hard to manipulate them out of a reader. Same with disgust. I don't know about you, but I'm not a huge fan of being the target of someone's low effort emotional smash and grab, personally. If you want me to feel things for your story, put in the fucking work.
