If youre in a campaign I highly recommend drawing the PCs and NPCs as emojis for your discord server its very theraputic

The first OC is Hazel belonging to @casuallycryptidcider . The rest are, in order:

- Louie, a paramedic Caitiff who just wants to do their job but accidentally adopted a ressurected Neanderthal-turned-vampire who keeps getting into near death situations (one of the player characters in my campaign)

- Naomi, the Malkavian ghoul who has since passed but was the Scourge's ghoul. When her dominator died and she lost access to blood she went a little more mad and filed her teeth into fangs

- Carina, a thinblood bartender who keeps flirting with one of the PCs and is just very cool and chatty

- Micah, the current Brujah leader of the city's group of anarchs who desperately needs a nap because Everything Is Going Wrong

- and Lola, an independent Malkavian who lives on a ranch with her Very Real Animals that no one else can see but she keeps giving people empty cups and offering them "fresh milk" and it feels Oddly Real

I think it's really funny how Mage the Ascension has to struggle with the whole having to fit in the same universe as all the other WoD games thing at times. Like they really said "All of reality is fake and based purely on what society thinks is real. Except for vampires, those factually exist"

If the players are like over 100 or 200 years old, it probably wouldnt be applicable. But i think stretching to where even 50+ year old vampires are still slowly decaying into monsters and experiencing changes would be pretty cool. Like maybe a 35 year old ventrue thinks theyve figured it out and are fine, but then they drink something and suddenly their restriction tightens and they have no idea where it ends

Thats just my ideas tho! I havent tried this so idk how itd work mechanically

I love VTM but I think my least favorite thing about the way they do the embrace is that the banes and all the bad things are supposed to take hold immediately. These are vampires. Theyre immortal. Let it take time, and it will be so much more horrifying.

Let the new Nosferatu scratch their head two nights in and a chunk of hair falls out. They look in the mirror three nights later and realize how much thinner their skin has gotten, and they touch their jaw carefully, and a strip of skin peels away to reveal the jaw underneath.

Let the new Malkavian be so so so paranoid because they KNOW whats coming, but by a month in, nothing seems to have happened. And theyre so worried, but theyre hoping against the universe that please, maybe they'll be the exception. Maybe they wont fall to the voices. And then they get home and talk to their friend about their worries, and after a little while, they feel relieved. The friend helps, so they keep talking to them. A few months go by and they are happy that they were worried over nothing, and they never even realize theyve been talking to the walls this whole time.

Let the new Ventrue have to figure out their blood limitation themselves. Their first few nights or weeks, they can drink whatever, but slowly the curse sets in. They drink some blood and immediately puke it up. They drink another type and break out in hives. Another sends them into torpor. But they HAVE to keep going. They have to find what they CAN drink, because until they do, they'll feel nothing but hunger and pain and rage and suffering. And the longer it takes to find it, the worse the wrong ones will be

Let the banes take time to take hold! I think thats significantly more interesting than everything just happening all at once all in one night, especially since these are immortal beings we're talking about. The horror of the vampire is supposed to be that all of the suffering is eternal. Let this take some time too.

The lines are blurred for thinbloods. Most cannot access disciplines outside of blood alchemy, but some can. Its not a hard and fast rule, so like it doesn't need to be an issue. Some thinbloods even have a flaw that means they still have their clan's bane. The connection can be as low or as high as you want

I wouldnt allow her to have any discipline higher than 2, but tbh... its not that big of an issue. Since VTM is a ttrpg, the rules can be bent with your own OCs or at the discretion of the storyteller. Id keep her as is

Quick ooc post. I realized an issue with the reveal of Iris being a thinblood. I designed her character sheet for her to be a 13th generation Nosferatu. The decision to make her a thinblood was not thought out as thoroughly as it should’ve been, so I’m considering whether to keep her as a thinblood and rework her character sheet or just make her a very weak 13th generation kindred. I’m aware now that thinbloods do not have access to any disciplines aside from blood alchemy, which is a system I don’t know much about. I still want her to look the same and be able to turn invisible.

If I can get away with making Iris a thinblood that can also turn invisible or has a stronger connection to her clan, I’d prefer to do that, but I’m not sure if that’s something I can actually do. I’m more familiar with character building in D&D where things are less structured, so anything goes.
