megaten seems to be one of the only mainstream franchises that understands chaos and law in the way originally intended by moorcock's dichotomy of them in opposition to a dichotomy of good and evil, and honestly a lot of that boils down to how many other franchises are specifically pulling from gygax's interpretation of them as an axis on an alignment chart that also includes good and evil

and you know, the primary issue with the latter interpretation is that they're not exactly entirely opposed and it's not subverting the material to propose that. things like "wouldn't a world of collapsed into absolute chaos fall into a pattern of pure chaos, and therefore law?" aren't gotchas that function against a narrative sphere that is very often blatantly, explicitly, openly about that
