This is important and everyone should know about it. Ajit Pai is an unapologetic piece of shit and he needs to be opposed at every turn. Signal boost.

Flower
Pairing: Peggy Schuyler x Fem!Reader
Dedicated to @transdavey
Words: 501
AN: I haven’t written on here for awhile so I’m sorry if I’m iffy on this stuff.
Warnings: soulmate AU; death mentioned
___________________________
You always lived without color, deep down you felt a missing piece of you that could only be filled by your other half who you still have not met yet.
It was the anniversary of your mothers death. Her death still nagged at you. But it wasn’t your fault even if you thought it was.
The cool air blew against your face as you walked the chilly streets of New York. You were heading towards a local flower shop so you had something to put on your mothers grave.
The bell chimed as you entered, your face flushing in the warmth of the humid store. You walked around the shop looking at different flowers and arrangements.
Picking the nicest grey looking flowers you walked up to the cash register. Setting the flowers down you looked up and locked eyes with the cashier. She let out a gasp. A electric pulse courses through you as your eyes closed and opened again but this time there was a tinge of color. A color you were unfamiliar with was splattered onto the cashiers dress. Her face was a caramel looking color but you didn’t know that. Her hair was dark and curly pulled back in a pony tail. Her manicured nails gripped the fabric of the dress.
“H-Hi.” Her voice sounded like one of an angel.
“Hi.” You sounded breathless.
“I didn’t expect you to be a girl…no offense I just…I don’t know.” You chuckled hesitantly.
“I didn’t expect you to be a girl either.” She smiled at you.
“I’m Peggy.”
“Y/N.”
“Who are these flowers for?” Your face dropped which Peggy noticed. “I’m sorry I shouldn’t of asked it’s none of my business.” You shook your head.
“No it’s fine it’s, it’s for my mother. Today is the anniversary of her death.” You tell her. Her eyes softened.
“I’m sorry for you loss. I know what it’s like, I lost my mother as well, so I know what you’re going through. You may blame yourself but it’s not your fault.
You smile softly to yourself.
“Thank you.” You say. Peggy beamed at that.
Paying for the flowers you left the shop but not before swapping phone numbers with Peggy. You had to stop somewhere else before heading to the cemetery.
You entered the gates of the cemetery, it was dark and dreary. You passed the gray tombstones with inscriptions of people’s names. When you came upon your mothers tombstone you burst out in tears.
There was a whole bouquet of peonies resting in the front. A small note card attached. Setting the flowers on the ground you picked up the notecard and it read,
‘Though someone you love is gone doesn’t mean they are lost forever, because they will always be there in your heart.’ ~ Peggy
Pulling out your phone you sent Peggy a thank you text.
Wiping the tears away you stayed there for another half hour before finally leaving, with a small watery smile on your face.

Every time I see Jeffrey Dean Morgan and his cute little crinkling of his nose and his deep, yet adorable little drawn out laugh, I just get 100x happier than I was prior to watching a new interview

self care for when you hit rock bottom
i fucking hate self care posts made by neurotypicals so here’s one from someone who Actually Gets It
-can’t shower or take a bath? me either. dry shampoo can make your hair look and feel cleaner, and baby wipes or makeup wipes work great to get the top layer of grime off your skin.
-can’t wash your sheets and make your bed? i feel you. push your blankets out of the way and shake the crumbs off your sheet. it will at least be a bit more comfortable.
-can’t even change out of your dirty pajamas? been there. hit yourself with some febreeze and a lint roller. if you can, brush your hair. if you can’t, hair ties and bobby pins are fantastic.
-can’t make anything to eat? same. if you can, there’s no shame in ordering food. in fact, it’s probably better you eat something rather than go hungry. if you can’t, try and find something that comes pre-made or takes minimal effort to make. at the very least, drink some water.
can’t respond to messages or reach out for help? yeah, i get that. set an alarm for a few hours from now and respond to any messages you need to once you’ve given yourself time to prepare. if they’re Important Messages that need Professional Responses, you can find fill-in-the-blank format rough drafts on google. as far as personal messages go, don’t feel bad for sending a mass “I’m sorry, I’m in a personal emergency right now. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.” response to everyone.
-can’t even sleep because it’s so bad? asmr videos always knock me out, personally, but i also watch a lot of bob ross. just try to find something quiet and soothing to use as background noise and take your mind off it, or at least give you a more peaceful environment to think about it.
-can’t go for a walk/drive? try opening the blinds or curtains. you’re still exposing yourself to the outside world. baby steps. (i also play animal crossing or sims; it may be virtual but fuck it. i went on a walk.)
-can’t go into work/school? let people know. let your coworkers or classmates know it’s an emergency and you can’t make it. give yourself up to two days, but then you have to go back. ask to have your work emailed to you so you know what you missed.
-can’t brush your teeth and wash your face? makeup or baby wipes and gum or mouthwash. don’t let yourself physically rot bc you’re rotting emotionally.
-remember that you’ve been here before. if you survived then you can survive now. that’s what this is about- survival. you don’t have to be living your Best Life. right now, it’s more than enough that you’re alive.

You know, one thing i like about Mulan is how Yao, Ling and Chien Po don’t really seem to care about the fact that Mulan is a girl.
I mean, when they find out, they are visibly perplexed

But even so, they rush and try to help her when she’s about to get killed

After this, they all seem quite depressed about having to leave her behind (and when Shang ignores her)

And when she shows up and takes action, they gladly follow her lead

And they even rock some crossdressing, like she did

(btw they just missed a great opportunity to make Shang crossdress here, shame on you movie)

Honestly, i just think this needs more appreciation. Because to them, Mulan didn’t have to prove herself again, just because she is a girl. She already earned their friendship and respect when she was ‘Ping’, and that was enough.
