So here we have some renders of the final lighting plot, I have finalised my rig plan and decided on a set of gobos and gels that will help to accompany the show. I used Capture Atlas to create the rig plan as it was a useful tool to place lights without being in the space. As you can see by the photos i have created the ability to have a general wash, warm wash and a cool wash aswell as some specials to add to certain scenes, i have decided to use intelligent lighting above the stage as the director called for certain actors to be spotlit which we would not have enough zoom profiles to complete ( i have tried to get my hands on some more and if we can i will replace the movers with zoom profiles)
Next Steps: Finalize the design for the show and decide on filters and gobos

Today i was showing the lighting operator how to use the lighting desk, I showed him how to get into the memories page and also how to program cues and change the fade times. We looked at setting up the desk and ensuring that all of the masters are up and that override is switched off. Next time we look at it we will look at submasters for redundancy. Then look at using moving lights

The decision had to be made for the control system.
I spoke with Harrison (lighting operator) we discussed the fact that using chamsys magiQ would be more convenient for me as the designer as i will be able to program scenes in beforehand and visualise it without needing to be at the desk. There where however some disadvantaged to using MagiQ such as the fact that i would have to leave my laptop in the operations booth during the show, also there is less flexibility in the event that something goes wrong. We came to the decision to use the Fat Frog lighting desk we decided upon this was because of the redundency and i dont like the idea of leaving my laptop in the operation booth.

Creating the designs for hamlet: i have been looking at lighting that is appropriate to the film noir style. I think that i have achieved some good ideas and can use the within the show. My next steps for this target will be to pull together final designs and begin lighting the show
