This chapter is called “Sakura’s depression”, she was sad because she didn’t feel that she was strong to compete in exam chunnin and Sasuke noticed her sadness. This scene happens right after, Sasuke praises her to make her happier, and he winks to her and smile when he knew that he was able to make her feel better. Meanwhile, Naruto wasn’t understanding what was happening between them hahahah (he’s so cute!). Studio Pierrot completely destroyed this beautiful scene. (Click on second gif to see it bigger)

In that sense, thank you SP for your effort, even though you left out some things, but this episode exceeded many ppl’s expectations. And considering what we’ve gotten in the past, this is a lot.

Yes, Sasuke burning the knives after taking them out of Sakura’s arm was sloppily animated, BUT THEY DIDN’T FORGET IT. Yes, they screwed up the smirk, BUT THEY DIDN’T OMIT IT, IT WAS THERE. (Also, Sasuke’s seiyuu added a little nervousness in Sasuke’s voice after Sakura gave him the bento, but none of you even noticed. Applause.) Yes, they left out the family picture, IN THIS EPISODE. THERE IS ONE MORE GAIDEN-RELATED EPISODE COMING NEXT WEEK SO BE PATIENT GDI.

Kurotsu Yasuaki (also known as Tsuru Toshiyuki) is the guy behind the Uchiha family picture in Boruto’s 2018 calendar. He is also the guy drawing Sasuke in a corner in the Uchiha/Uzumaki picnic illustration.

Here is the interview that has him admitting he didn’t like Sasuke during the period he was cruel.

Needless to say, he is a Hinata fan.
