The days passed and the seed was already open, the boy was starting to feel the roots in his abdomen and branches in his chest.
He found an orange being in one of his dreams with the truffula forest, the orange being said that maybe he would return one day, that forest was not real along with the animals, they were just a simulation of what the valley was, and the sacrifice that had to be made for them to come back is something that makes him resentful, he didn't wanted to see someone lose its life. The last thing said was that the boy should beware of people who might take advantage of him with the tree.
One day the tree started to come out of the pectoral, the mother and the whole town were scared, at first people tried not to get scared, but they noticed that the tree grew with the young man, there came a time that some men who were interested in the new tree they set up an ambush for the tree host, he was supposed to visit a factory he planned to visit years ago, but Ted was arrested in the area of the final cuts, the blades tried to cut the plant even with the brunette there. Cutting the tree also caused the boy pain, even if he tried to dodge, some of the men themselves tried to remove the leaves with axes, when they managed to remove half the leaves, the men dropped the boy out of the factory, he felt weak.
The the youngsh tried to walk outside the city, where there was no shallow ground, it was just old soil and mist. There the tree could try to start over, Ted's life was already going, soon his body was just a bark, only the tree was alive in that bark.

“The city was falling into decay” some neighbors said when their job expectations were broken, but Ted was no longer paying attention to what everyone said or lived, he was waiting for something to arrive.
He ignored reality so much that in one night he dreamed of a forest he had never seen, it was very different from what he imagined of a forest, the trees had spiral-shaped leaves with different colors, they had animals like bears, orange geese and humming fish swimming in a stream, as far as the boy remembered, this was the environment described by the man called Onceler. Perhaps the truffle seed allowed him to see the past environment of that place.
The boy walked around the place, discovering new things, in a moment two Barbalots bears pulled the brunette to play, until the child accepted, it was time to play picking up sticks and hiding, until they went to the edge of the creek, the fish found him strange, but then they let the boy look at the water for a while, until he was pushed by a bear and fell into the water, the boy saw that the creek looked bigger when down the water, it seemed to be deeper and wider , he surfaced and climbed out of the water.
It looked like he was going to spend an entire afternoon in that place, he hadn't felt so alive since some time in his life.
Since he didn't care about society, he didn’t bother to stay in that place for a while. Actually, nothing else mattered at that moment, except those moments that seemed to last a lifetime, and could be like this forever and ever.
As he lost his innocence early, that place was more playful and comfortable for the young man, it was the closest he was to having his innocence back.

An AU project about both The Lorax from the book, 1972 animation and the 2012 movie(although i hate the bastardization of that movie, i just borrowed some things), but you can ignore the animations, just know the basic original story.

A boy from Thneedville was tired of the monotonous city where he lived and decided to leave it, even if hidden. The boy named Ted had a constant drive to want to see new things and have more of everything, he wanted to have something new in his life, no matter what it was, or what the consequence for himself was, because his life was empty, as empty as the inhabitants of that city if not emptier than them, and when the boy grows up he will serve a corrupt government that devours the planet and people, so he went in a search of a seed of the tree that no longer existed in his city.
He heard from his grandmother about a truffula seed which could be with a man who lived out of town.
He went far into the fog outside the city until he found a house, there didn't seem to be anyone there, Ted rang the bell, and as told by the grandmother, the man was there. The boy gave the grandfather snail and coins to the man as payment for the seed, the man told his story, how he cut down all the trees and took nature out of that place, now someone could let a new tree be born... but... there is a catch, the "first" new tree would be born in a different way from the others, the seed would have to germinate in someone's body, especially a very young body, the boy would have to swallow the seed, he could do well because the tree would bring immunity and would not feel so much pain, but he would also run the risk of dying, the nutrients would come from the human body, the tree could grow until it killed the host, and thus the tree matures in exchange for the person's life.
The boy left with the seed, still undecided if he would risk his life, he spent days thinking about it, because his family would feel his loss, his idiot friends would miss him and along with other people, they would feel sorry for him, blaming the tree.
Ted didn't think about his life or his body, he didn't care about that, after all, he was empty and his future would probably be serving someone greedy, the future was empty, he could give life to that tree because that place belongs to it, the tree was more interesting and would do more useful things than this boy, Ted's future should be that of the tree.
- It would be a more "noble" future - He thought.
And so the boy swallowed the seed, after spending minutes looking at it while sitting on his bed.
