Craftsman rendering! I'm starting to experiment more with textures. I love how this one turned out: just enough color with the fun window sashes.

Just scored these LOVELY salt and pepper shakers from @awelldressedkitchen on her Etsy shop! She has some really great vintage items, so be sure to check her out! Thank you for the tip on her feed, @milkglasspicker! I can't wait to see these in person.

One year ago today, I bought this book at the @jamesjhillhouse (and another copy for @lefthookterri Happy Birthday!). I love being able to read about the history surrounding us, and to understand more about the people who built these magnificent structures. Seeing architecture locally like the Hill houses and the Turnblad mansion as part of the @amswedinstitute in Minneapolis is a constant source of inspiration for me. I hope I can bring my modest little home a fraction of the care as seen in so many of these homes. (at Saint Paul, Minnesota)

Before and After!! Swipe! 👉 I have one pair of these chairs completely done, and I must say they turned out handsome! I'm trying to decide on upholstery for the other two chairs. So far, these are some of my favorite "afters."

This is one of my favorite views from @childrensmn. It's the icing on the cake for an appointment day looking up at the Cathedral and the Hill houses. @jamesjhillhouse @visitsaintpaul

Finished storage unit and tank stand! It's the perfect setup for our living room providing storage for toys and space for a new turtle set up. The guts blend well with the walls and trim, which makes the visual weight of such a big piece a bit easier. I'm really proud of what I was able to do with this piece.

Custom modular storage unit complete! The dark stain really works with what I have going in the room, and I painted the guts to blend in with my walls since I left the sides open. It comes apart easily in three pieces to make moving around quick and easy.

“Bluff Side”
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been really inspired by my new surroundings moving back into the city.  This was done from one of my favorite spots in St. Paul.  I call it the “overlook.” It looks out over the city from the bluffs on the West Side.
The print and screen version of this doesn’t quite do the original justice:  it’s done with gesso and color layers that really give it a lot of dimension and helped to guide the sense of form.  I used a lot of different mediums in this one, and I think I’m more happy with this than any other iteration of St. Paul I’ve created.  I really focused on bringing through even the tiniest details.

My most recent series of work are these small watercolor and ink canvases. I focused on sights in St. Paul, Minnesota, to highlight my new hometown. Looking at local art, many pieces feature Minneapolis, so I wanted to focus a little further east on the Capital city. I featured the First National Bank Building, the big green adirondack chair, a paddle-powered riverboat, the Landmark Center, the Highland Park watertower, and the Robert Street Lift Bridge. Original artwork has been posted to my Etsy shop: ExactlyHandmade. http://www.etsy.com/shop/exactlyhandmade Prints and accessories are available through my Society6 platform: HandmadeKatie. http://www.society6.com/handmadekatie

Finished this gem last night. "Heron Shore." These are some of my favorite creatures on the planet, and I adore seeing them out in our waterways and in our skies across the country. Prints are already available in my new @society6 shop: http://www.society6.com/HandmadeKatie And I have the original available currently on @Etsy (but I love it so much, I may just keep it): http://www.etsy.com/shop/exactlyhandmade
