Introduction

Hi, my name is Quinn, and the first thing you’ll want to know about me is if I’m a boy or a girl?

Well if it only was that simple, but we don’t live in a binary world. There are more colors than just black or white, there are more answers than just yes or no. Which means, get this, there are more genders than just boy or girl. Instead, it’s more like a dial that you can’t control. It just moves and you have to go along with it.

“But,” some people say, “you were born a certain way, with a certain set of parts.” True, I really can’t deny that. But who the hell died and made it your job to know who has what parts?

Whoops sorry imaginary reader, nothing personal. This stuff is just hard to explain. I’m genderfluid, but what does that even mean?

Imagine having a compass deep inside yourself, only you can read it but have no control of it. For some people that compass will never change. For others, the compass does not match what they were assigned at birth. And others, their internal gender compass changes periodically. Being genderfluid is like your compass moving around, sometimes male, female, or something totally different. But we have no power of the compass, just something we have.

Well imaginary reader, this just might be the first place where the first question isn’t what is between my legs. And at last, I’ll be free to be who I am. Whoever that it.
