Grace rolls over and closes her arms around Hannah’s body while they lay in bed. She's tired but she still smiles and takes a deep breath because Hannah is the most important thing in the world and she's right here.
She wakes up again to a room lit through diluted early morning sunlight and Hannah gently kissing her temple and then the top of her head.
"Morning sunshine," Grace says through a raspy voice.
Hannah hums and pulls Grace a little bit closer. Grace looks up at her with her brown eyes and her hair all across her forehead instead of how she usually has it.
"I like it when you have your fringe down," Hannah whispers, eyes flickering all around Grace's face and wondering how one person can be so godly and beautiful.
Grace blushes and they don't know but their hearts skip at the same time.
"I love you, Gracie," Hannah says in a hushed voice, like maybe she isn't allowed.
"I love you, Hannah," Grace says louder and very proudly.
They brush noses on Hannah's account because she loves Eskimo kisses and Grace will probably never, ever say so but she does too.
Then they freeze like that, lips very, very close and noses slotted next to each other. Grace feels Hannah's shallow breath fall on her own lips and it feels like Hannah's trying hard to hold it but her hearts beating too fast. She's staring at Grace's lips, near cross-eyed. Grace moves forward in what feels like slow motion, doesn't move a muscle until their lips touch and then she presses her own to Hannah's. It’s slow and cautious, because they both have attached a very bad experience to a moment that started a lot like this.
Hannah's lips are warm and soft and she holds Grace like she's the most precious thing in the world, waits for Grace to make all of the moves because she's not sure what's allowed and what isn't. Grace's moving farther still, though, legs wrapping around Hannah's waist and fingers gripping the back of her neck. Their lips only break when they need to catch their breath, but they can only stand a fleeting moment before they reattach and it feels like nothing else around them is even there.
Grace pulls away, but keeps her fingers tangled in Hannah's hair, and sighs in a way that sends shivers up and down Hannah's spine. It feels like someone's knocked the wind out of her chest.
Grace presses their foreheads together and breathes out a little moan while Hannah subconsciously tightens her grip on Grace's bum and she's surprised herself a little but wouldn't dare remove her hands because Grace hasn't said anything to reject it yet.
Grace's pupils swell until her irises are almost all black except for a sliver of dark brown and she looks at Hannah through her long eyelashes. She rolls her hips so slowly it almost pains her and Hannah's head rolls back against the wall. She grips Grace's hips and pays attention to the movement she's making against her and Hannah can almost see it in her mind but she's too taken aback to open her eyes.
"Gracie," she moans out, and Grace speeds up, burying her face in Hannah's neck and grinding her hips on top of Hannah's. Hannah looks like she's breathing for the way Grace can move and her eyes roll back and she moans, despite trying to stifle it.
Grace feels daring so she sticks a hand down Hannah's underwear and strokes along her opening which is just as pretty as she remembers (she walked in on Hannah touching herself a few months back). Hannah shudders but it appears to be out of pleasure so Grace feels encouraged to move on and she does. She thumbs her clit and pushes a finger on the way down and the way up and Hannah's eyes squeeze shut and her mouth opens.
"Oh… Grace," she moans, and she's quickly orgasm-ing between Grace's fingers. She buries her moans in Grace neck and Grace gets goosebumps.
Then they are frozen again, Hannah hiding her face against Grace's collarbone and Grace resting her chin on Hannah's shoulder. Hannah's nervous and Grace can feel it.
"You haven't done anything wrong," she coos, rubs a circle against Hannah's back, "I love you so much."
Hannah's shoulders drop and she sinks farther against Grace. She pulls them down under the covers and gives Grace one last kiss before she falls back asleep.

big blue eyes - chapter five - 49th & 7th
IT IS REQUIRED that you listen to this before ok just do it (x)
-
She sat up and ran to dress herself appropriately enough to run outside and to the car. She fumbled to turn the key and roared out of the parking lot, heading down the road with her heart going faster by the minute. She took a quick turn into the police station and ran up the ramp, bursting in the door. Her feet stopped before her body and she struggled to balance herself as three pairs of eyes looked up from dimly lit desks scattered around the poor excuse for a room. She brushed her t-shirt and approached a middle-aged man looking over the rim of his glasses that rested low on his nose and cleared his throat.
"Can you track a number for me?" she said, sounding more hopeful and unsure of herself than she wanted.
The man held out his palm, elbow resting on his desk, and Grace rummaged through her sweatpants and slapped her phone in the man’s hand, eager. The man, who according to the sign perched at the front of his desk was named Allen, opened up to the first and only number in the call history and typed it quickly into the number pad on his keyboard. He tapped his fingers on the desk while he waited for the screen to load. Grace watched the desktop’s reflection in the man’s glasses and tapped her foot.
"A pay phone near the intersection of 7th Ave and 49th street," he finally said, handing the phone back to Grace.
"Thank you so much," Grace yelled from the doorway while she ran out.
She was already on 7th ave; just on 52nd street and the short distance between her and Hannah brought her heart to her throat.
51, 50, 49, and she slammed on the brakes, unbuckling her seat belt and shoving herself out of the car door. Her eyes were wide and searching eagerly for a payphone everywhere in near sight and she spotted one, navy and peeling with rust. She leaned against it and scanned the area around her but could not spot the blonde hair poking out anywhere.
Pain ripped through her chest and she genuinely felt the loss of the girl for the first time and all hope shattered into bits. She was so close, but not close enough.
She sunk down on a wooden bench and let her sadness take her, throat closing up and eyes burning. Tears dropped onto her shirt and she shot up, running to the brick wall opposite the bench a winded up for a punch. But she froze, elbow behind her, thumb tucked over tense fingers. She let out a shaken breath, suddenly worried for her sanity when she heard something she hadn’t heard so clear in months.
She let her arm drop to her side and she held her breath, listening to the sweet hum that was echoing from the alley right next to her. She even could determine what song it was and she leaned her head into the wall to listen. Yet she didn’t register that the hum was real and actual and coming from the alley but thought she was imagining it instead. The humming blurred into a quiet song and finally full out singing, notes hit perfectly and sweet in all the right ways.
The voice was at the chorus now and Grace mouthed along. It was an Ed cover of we found love that she downloaded to her iTunes after Hannah found it and fell in love with it and she made her play it in the car all the time.
"Turn away cause I need you more, feel the heartbeat in my mind. It’s the way I’m feeling’ I just can’t deny, but I’ve got to let it go”
And Grace started gravitating towards the voice, moving into the alley and falling into shock when she saw the girl leaned next to a dumpster, eyes closed and mouth synced with the words.
Out of the blue, Grace felt a swelling in her chest and a tickle in her nose before letting out a sneeze- one that leaves your throat itchy. She would have cursed herself for doing it if she didn’t look up and see Hannah laughing a quiet chuckle, corners of her mouth spreading, and then found herself and then both of them laughing until their sides were cramping.
In no time at all she was on top of Hannah, arms wrapping around her body and holding almost too tight. She didn’t know how long she sat straddled over Hannah’s long legs but it felt so good to breathe in her smell again. Hannah was shaking under her, mumbling sentences that all ended in “missed you” and Grace just held the back of her head and let her calm down in the cradle of her chest.
After however long, Grace stood up, pulling the much smaller girl up and sliding her arm across her lower back, pulling her wordlessly to the car and letting her sit herself in the front seat. She sat into the driver’s seat herself and sat with her hand on the key for a long moment. Hannah’s eyes watched Grace carefully and when Grace was inhaling and about to speak, Hannah spoke instead.
"I’m sorry Gracie, please don’t be mad," she blurted, and kept her eyes on Grace’s clenching jaw.
Grace slowly looked up, eyes falling gently to Hannah’s and then to her lips.
"i was never mad," Grace breathed, barely audible while she studied Hannah’s face and took in her features.
Hannah looked different, older, and rougher. Her face looked poorly washed and her fingernails were encrusted with dirt. Other than her old and now stained clothes, she was wearing a new jacket that Grace didn’t recognize. Her blonde hair had faded and was disheveled and unruly atop her head. But her eyes, her eyes hadn’t changed. The blue was as bright as they were and the whites the color of clean sheets like Grace remembered. They were still as pure and innocent as ever. But Grace watched as Hannah’s eyes started to swell with tears and her eyebrows came together and her jaw moved like she was trying to speak but she couldn’t.
"You weren’t… mad?" Hannah finally uttered, voice cracking up at the end and she shook her head. "m’so sorry, Gracie, I should’ve stayed. I should’ve-" she started again, tears falling to her rosy cheeks.
"Hannah," Grace said sternly, grabbing the flustered girls face in two steady hands, "stop apologizing. I… I have you now and that’s what matters."
"But Grace-"
And Hannah’s lips were interrupted in between words with something soft and warm. Her eyes squeezed shut out of reflex, but relaxed when she realized that the soft and warm thing on her lips was Grace. They fit together right, Hannah thought, Grace’s lips angular and in, Hannah’s round and full. Everything went slowly in her mind and she basked in it until Grace pulled away. She opened her eyes to see Grace looking at her and a smile lingering on her lips.
"Let’s go home, Han," she said gently, waiting for an okay from the girl.
She smiled, bigger than before, and agreed. She stole glances at Grace the entire ride home.

big blue eyes
big blue eyes - chapter four - payphone
grace drives a lot
just a little part to post til i can write a bunch over the weekend :)
-
Grace’s chest caved at the thought of Hannah running out alone in the rain, droplets streaming down soaked hair and cheeks red. But more at the thought of her even leaving. She stood in shock for a moment before realizing that she was willingly letting Hannah slip away by standing there and threw on a jacket and shoes and ran out.
She sprinted down the hallway and out the glass door into pouring rain, looking both directions before deciding to take left. She ran quickly, soaking her body down to the bone but she kept running. The clouds were darkening and it was starting to thunder, so she forced herself to turn around and go get her keys, figuring it would’ve been more thought out to take the car in the first place.
She searched until dark but saw nothing of Hannah and took a defeated drive home, emotions hitting her when she got into the door. She felt like she’d given up on Hannah. She collapsed to the couch but picked herself up on the off chance that Hannah may be lying in their bed, came home while Grace was out. She walked slowly to the bedroom, tears streaking down her face, and she opened the door with closed eyes. She turned the light on and looked up to see an empty bed, blankets still pushed up and over from where Hannah was laying hours ago. She turned the light off, slid gently into the bed, and fell asleep between a fit of broken sobs.
She woke up the next morning to an alarm that echoed in her ears even after she shut it off and dragged herself into the bathroom to brush her teeth and throw water on her face. She purposefully avoided the mirror because she didn’t feel like seeing her swollen eyes and flushed cheeks from crying herself to sleep, so she splashed cold water on her skin and went back into her room.
She ended up trying to film a video in sweatpants and a sweatshirt, one that Hannah had worn practically every day for months. She fell heavy into the chair and rested otherwise trembling hands on the desk under her chin. She watched the hands on the clock creep in a slow rhythm until she gave up with today’s video. She sat in the window of the cafe and thumbed the label on her paper coffee cup until she tried to film her video again class, and repeat.
When the day was over she found herself staring, eyes glassy and unfocused, at the TV. Sitting stiff against the couch cushion. She didn’t remember driving to the cafe, driving home, not a single thing from any attempt at a video. It turned into a daily routine. Her views went to shit and she considered stopping YouTube. Every night and every weekend was spent calling police departments and animal control and every science lab and hospital and any goddamned place with a photo development kiosk but no one had seen a blonde haired hybrid that was short and smart and smiled three quarters of the time.
Grace knew she loved Hannah but she never knew how much until she was gone. And the worst part, she thought, was the empty feeling in her chest that feels emptier when she eats dinner alone and grocery shops alone and sleeps alone.
One night at the dinner table when Grace forked through her food until it was an even mix of brown-tinted mush, she threw her fork down and her coat on and the door shut. She found herself in her driver’s seat, white knuckles gripping the wheel and she turned the key in the ignition and she drove. Past the photo developer on the corner and past the park and down a main road until she was approaching a place she felt like she needed to see. She finally pulled up to the towering white building and sat, eyes through the huge windows where she saw a familiar man closing up. He closed the front door and locked it, readjusting his bag over his shoulder and walked in Grace’s direction. He had his eyes on the car behind him, but noticed her sitting in the front seat, evident from his eyebrows stitching together, raising, and a smile finally spreading across his face. He waved and rushed over to the car window which Grace was rolling down.
"Grace!" He said, ever-enthusiastically.
"Hey, Chester. Still working here, yea?" Grace tried to sound interested.
"Yes! I got promoted when we expanded! I manage the branch now," He smiled, pointing to the white card labeled so on his red sweater.
Grace nodded and smiled a rather good fake smile. Chester leaned in to look in the car.
"Wh-where’s Hannah?" He asked, no worry in his voice but curiosity instead. Grace still wanted to roll the window up and pull away, but she knew it wasn’t his fault and he meant well and he really was sweet.
"I can’t find her," she responded instead. Her voice was flat. It was starting to rain, and her now swelling eyes were following droplets down the windshield.
"What d’you mean?" Chester’s voice was suddenly soft, sympathetic.
"She just left one day, and she’s gone now. I’ve got no clue where she could be," Grace’s Face stayed unchanging and stone-still, but tears fell down her cheeks and to her shirt.
Chester pulled his jacket over his head in an attempt to save his hair from the steadily increasing volume of rain, “you’ll find her, Grace, you will,” and he sounded certain while Grace nodded and he walked to his car and it brought Grace comfort for just a moment before she realized she wasn’t sure herself.
that night there was a slow drive home, Grace pretending she wasn’t hoping she’d see a rain soaked Hannah walked down the road and she could just swoop her up and set her in the passenger’s seat, heat cranking, and lay the blanket from the trunk over her and press kisses all over and tell her what she did wasn’t wrong and she loved the way Hannah’s lips felt and they’d talk about it later.
That night was filled with questions like how could she leave me, how dare her, she deserves better, why am I so terrible, when is she coming back.
And that night Grace told herself to stop looking because if Hannah wanted to see Grace she would find her. And if she didn’t, if that’s what makes her happy, then she deserves that.
Grace would be lying if she said that every moment after that she wasn’t thinking about grabbing her phone and waiting for an unknown number to call.
But one night, the first time in a long time, she got what she wanted.
Her phone rang loud on her bed side table and her hand started shaking when she saw a different area code and an unsaved number flash on her screen. She pressed answer and pulled her phone to her ear and swallowed hard before saying-
"shello?"
"Gracie," someone exhaled, relieved, on the other end.
Grace eyes shut close when she recognized the deep voice and her chest exploded because she realized what she wasn’t letting herself believe wasn’t true anyway and Hannah was ok and breathing.
"Gracie," she continued, about to start speaking.
Grace breathed a small “Han” and tears were trailing down her face, but she was smiling and oh, so happy.
"I collected all the quarters I could to call you Gracie and I was scared you wouldn’t pick up but I’m so glad you did because I wanted to tell you something," pause, breath, "I’m really sorry for what I did but I left and I hope that makes you happy because I know I messed everything up and I hope that you still love me a little because I’m so alone out here Gracie and I would feel better if I knew you still loved me a little. I don’t really know what I’m doing out here and I don’t know where to go but I saw a women with a camera and I was going to have her take a picture of me and send it to you so you knew I was okay if you were even thinking about me but I really wanted to hear your voice Gracie I really did so that’s when I saw a quarter and right above it a pay phone so I looked everywhere and collected $1.50 to call you and I’m so sorry if you didn’t want to hear from me Gracie but I love you and I’ll hang up now but I love you Gracie." and her constant stream of words stopped abruptly and were replaced instead with a monotone.
Grace stared at her phone and she slipped from the proverbial sky that was happiness to the proverbial cold hard ground with a thump.
-
hope you enjoyed! let me know what you thought and comments are my proverbial sky of happiness so

I really love big blue eyes! and i'm not sure if you meant to do this or not but i see a hint of story behind the story meaning it relates to real-life with grace kissing a "beast" and thinking its almost beastiuality relation to kissing a girl can be so scary and different the first time felt wrong almost much like beastuality
Thank you so much! and that was intentional, congrats on picking up on it! :)
