Post Production For Group Project
My other job role was to be the editor I edited using premier pro as I have experience using the software…
As soon as filming finished, I uploaded the footage from the memory card to my computer this is where I found out the footage had been filmed in the wrong frame rate which made the footage to edit glitchy and in slow motion.
I managed to change the settings and fix the issue.
I separated the footage into different bins to make it easier to edit
Added effects such as transitions, phone call, sound effects, music to try and make the film a bit more interesting.
I colour corrected on premier pro and made the colours more vibrant and less over exposed.
I then made sure that the rest of the group was updated and sent the drafts when I had finished it.
Once I had finished editing I uploaded it onto Brightspace before the deadline to prevent any late marks.

Production for Group Project
On the day of filming I was acting as we did not have enough actors so I stepped in and acted. I updated my knowledge and revised my lines on the script so that I was confident with what I was saying. I communicated with the rest of the group so that they knew I would be a trustworthy actor.
I also helped to try and solve any problems that occurred during the shoot. As we where filming outside the lighting was different throughout the day which hindered us slightly. I also believe that we could of added a more of a variety of camera shots and angles as it was the same throughout. Next time I am going to focus more on showing the audience the storyline instead of telling the audience what is happening. This will make the sort film more effective and engaging. This will happen by being more organized in pre production and creating more pre production materials.

Pre Production Of Group Project
We created focus group questionnaire to try and see what would appeal to our target audience.
I created a rip-o-matic trailer to help visualise the idea of our short film. Unfortunately our idea then changed so It did not help during the shoot.
Risk assessments where finished in time but organization would of made this progress go a bit smoother and allowed to complete it earlier.
As a group we did not go out to look at locations so next time I will go out on a location scouting to find better locations to film at.
Next time create more pre production materials such as shot list and mood bards. To help us film more variety of shots that will keep the target audience engaged.

13/3/25 Tv Studio Scripted Day
On this day we was given a script and had to follow it creating a drama out of it. My job role was camera operator again. I enjoyed this as I got to strengthen my abilities to follow camera cue cards. Marking sure I was filming the correct shot at the correct time. Whilst making sure the camera was in focus and set up properly.

6/3/25-7/3/25 Tv Studio Day
On these 2 days we worked in the tv studio and had to create a script for a studio drama.
This was hard as we had to create the idea in a limited time.
My job role was camera operator, which I enjoyed, although I found it hard at some points, trying to follow the camera cue sheets. I listened and communicated with the director to strengthen my understanding of what the vision was and tried my best to take any constructive feedback and work on it for future shoots.

Visualisation of the idea
With the original idea of a man struggling with dementia and forgetting things where his caregiver was actually his son. I created a rip-o-matic trailer to help visualise what our short film could look like. I achieved this by compiling clips that where from similar storylines to what I wanted to put in our a short film and editing together with a song that fits the song and that would appeal to the target audience.

7/2/25 tv studio
On this day we created a live TV drama in the TV studio. My job role was lighting, Allan explained the basics at the beginning of the day. Our group's idea was to create a drama in a desert with a cowboy western theme/genre. So I made a lovely orange sunset that at the end of the show it transitions into a midnight sky with a deep purple sky and a moon in the middle. This was very effective as it gave the audience a better atmosphere of what the set was meant to be as without the lighting it would of looked really basic and plain. I found the lighting interesting to use and loved created the bright vibrant colours on the set.

Idea generation task-location
As a group we were given the task to come up with locations and a synopsis of what would happen in that scene. This was meant to be a group project but unfortunately no one in the group had done anything for this task so I took it upon myself to come up with the ideas:
On the beach-romantic date with scenic views of a sunset
Lower gardens-strolling through the landscape walking through the nature deep in thought
Bournemouth pavilion-royal gathering elegant gathering for people from a high class based in the past
Club or pub-euphoria inspired scene character acting like they are under the influence which is shown by the lighting and editing distortion effects.
Arcade on the pier-overstimulating competitive scene between friends playing on the games

4/2/25 Concept To Screen Seminar
The next part of this seminar was about idea generation. I found this section of the seminar very inspiring and motivational to find ideas for future projects. We went through where ideas come from and how important research is. We then went and did a movie mash-up task which was fun and exiting. Where we had to think of a high concept film as well as factual hook drama for tv production.
We also had another task where we had to choose words from each section and create a film based on those words. This fun as I got to be creative as possible and create some crazy ideas for films.
Tumblr media
We also did a cut up task where we thought of random words that connected to stimuli and then we went round to other groups and picked up one of there words then connected 2 original words with the new word.

4/2/25 Concept To Screen Seminar
We learnt more about audiences, how to break down to focus on a certain demographic and what the characteristics that group them are such as
age, Generation, Sex, Gender, Orientation, Ethnicity, Background, Education, Job, Where we live, Social Class, Grade. Social Grade, A, B, C1, C2, D, E, social economic classification.
We learnt how to attract a certain target audience based on these characteristics.
We got set the task to watch the documentary "All in the Best Possible Taste" by Grayson Perry and had to figure out the target audience for that specific documentary. After watching this documentary I believe that the target audience is for people who are engaged with art and culture. Also, I believe people who have watched or know about his previous work would be included in this target audience. He has a satire and comedic element to his documentary that would interest a certain demographic and audience of mature/older people 30-55.

January 30th-Concert to screen fieldwork assignment
On this day we learnt about the importance of location in film, how it creates a certain mood/atmosphere and how it can be used to elevate a storyline.
We also learnt about permission when filming on location. For example, if we are a small crew, five people or fewer, using a handheld camera which will not cause an obstruction then there is no restriction to filming.
We were then sent on a fieldwork task where we had to capture photos that followed the brief.
Inspiration-Someone that interests, intrigues, amuses, bemuses, surprises, upsets, challenges, etc.
Team photo-Theme: ‘We are BATV!’
Gritty-for an on foot chase
Slick city-for an espionage ‘switch’
Glamour-for a 1920’s romantic drama
Interesting location of your choice
We then were sent to go around Bournemouth and capture these photos and create a padlet to put all the images together so we could show it to the lecturer.
