 I love this platform….now! I was making this way harder than it was! Once I understood how to make each part of the game, I felt more comfortable and efficient in making them. I think this would be great for students to really dig deep into understanding concepts while keeping them engaged. I would keep adding to the game that I began with to provide harder questions the further they got into the game. That way your advanced students would have some more challenging problems. I also feel like this can be integrated into almost any subject and content area. I am super excited to use this in my classroom. I feel like my students will love learning when it is made so fun!

I created my Google Tour to view landforms around the United States. I identified some of the most famous landforms in the US and found them each on Google Maps. I found places such as the Grand Canyon, Mount Everest, Chesapeake Bay, etc..  I dragged my starting point to the desired place and added facts or aerial view photos within each landform page. I chose to add a description of each type of landform as a viewing point as well as adding a description about the specific landform itself, such as where it is located in the United States.

In second grade, we teach landforms each year. I wanted students to be able to feel as if they were actually visiting these landforms. Some students may not ever get to visit places like these in real life and I feel as if this would give them an opportunity to see the world in a different way. I would use this as an activity for students to do while we are studying landforms. After introducing each landform and their characteristics, I would allow my students to get a deeper understanding of each landform by viewing them in a 3d fashion. I feel that the students would benefit from a virtual experience and that they would make a greater connection if they had the opportunity to see it in this way.

This weeks assignment was to create a infographic about emerging technology within education, industry or healthcare.  Naturally I choose education because that it my world.  I took at many different emerging technologies but I went with 4 that I use or plan on using in my own classroom.  I used Piktochart to create my infographic.  I really enjoyed making this. I can think of a few ways that I would be able to make some infographics for my class or the parents of my students.  I used Google search to find a list of different technologies.

For my infographic, I chose to explore the emerging world of technology being used for educational purposes. I discovered new technologies as well as new uses for technology in the classroom. I chose to focus on three. Virtual Reality in a classroom allows students to reach a new level of engagement. They can attend virtual field trips and manipulate objects to deepen their understanding. Artificial intelligence is used in classrooms all over the world. It is used to make student’s more efficient. It allows student’s to get immediate answers when asking questions. 3D Printing in the classroom gives students the opportunity to become engineers and design and build objects. All of these technologies greatly impact the future of education for our students. 

I used Canva to design my infogrpahic. I used the design features to add images and text according to the topics I was addressing.

I have been scuba diving for about 3 years now! It is such an amazing and humbling experience! 

Hey! I am Hannah Williams! I am a teacher for MCPSS. My vision board covers some short term goals, some long-term, and some bucket-list type things! One of my goals is to finish my masters, get my educational specialist and finally my doctorate. While doing that I hope to make a difference in my student’s lives each day in the classroom. On a personal level, I hope to start a family with my husband and to be student-loan debt free! I love being on the water and my last two goals are a bit of wishful thinking. I am a scuba diver and would love to dive with a whale shark one day. I would also love to catch a yallowfin tuna! 

For my vision board I used images, gifs, and text in Google Slides. I used bitmoji to add my personal bitmoji to my board as well.
