Clash of the Titans
With the development of production technology, human beings have abandoned their lifelong admiration and fear. They tore down the gods and burned down the temple, provoking the wrath of the gods. Hades returned to Olympus from the underworld for the first time and urged Zeus to release him
An ancient sea monster sealed after the battle of the titans to destroy human cities. Zeus was so eager to punish humans that he forgot that Hades' treasure was the ancient sea monster with its huge size and infinite power. With the ancient sea monster, Hades possessed it
The power of terror to contend with the gods; With the sea monster, Hades was able to fulfill his ambition: to overthrow Zeus, to seize the scepter of Olympus, to shield the sun from its rays with an eternal eclipse, and to turn the sky and earth into a dark and desolate death
Nation. The son of Zeus, who lives on earth, USES the sword of light bestowed by god and Pegasus, a flying horse, to wipe out the ancient sea monster and save the world through hardships. By the power of man, against the will of god. This is the spirit of Greek mythology: people need to have a fear of god, but people can use power to resist god's punishment. This is the opposite of the idea of tolerance and tolerance for oppression advocated by other religions.

Agricultural god worship(medeia 1969)
Head wearing a golden grain of handsome man was wearing a smile to the cross, then strangled ritualist-and to use a stick, put down after the cross, the sword axe the resin, and then in the flesh and blood to the people present, after people get a flesh and blood, the blood wipe on crops, meat will be buried in the bottom of the edge of their fields, but the heart of the dead were buried under the book, the last remaining guts and bones shall be burnt. Around this fire, the festival of saturnalia began. The identities of slave civilians and noble royalty were exchanged at ordinary times, so we saw the scene in which the common people spat at the royal family in the film.
According to the film did not name this is the worship of the god of agriculture, but according to my understanding that it is indeed a ceremony. But saturnalia was supposed to be an ancient Roman ritual, and it wasn't so bloody. The barbarians in the film in contrast to the ancient Greek city-states were probably the Roman tribes of apennines.

Primitive society and civilized society(medeia 1969)
The contrast between primitive society and civilization is not without insinuation that contemporary third world culture is eroded by western material civilization
Therefore, Medea married song, in the rational world as if reduced to the mana lost. In one scene, soldiers go ashore and cut branches to make tents. Medea suddenly began to cry out in horror, "this place is falling down because there is no support! Don't ask god to bless you! Don't repeat it! Don't look for the center! Find a tree, a stump, and a stone!" All smiled and looked at her with indifference, and one even playfully played the banjo.
Medea continued to run painfully across the cracked earth. The vision, the vast expanse of space, seemed small: "tell me, earth! Let me hear your voice! I don't remember your voice. Speak to me, sun! Though I have my feet on the earth, I do not know it; though I can see the sun, I do not know it.
This echoes the long passages of the narrator of Charon, who says, "she wandered in a world different from what she believed." Another is: "in nature, nothing is certain. When nature is uncertain, everything is over."
In fact, this is an explanation of Medea, Medea is equal to nature, she is terrible, because she can hear the ancient mysterious memories, a voice from the earth, a revelation from the sun. Her caprice, her violent moods, her violent ways, like the calamities of heaven and earth, will destroy the balance that civilized men are proud of.

Media
Clearly, the word Media carries multiple meanings. The first is revenge, revenge from betrayal. In this respect, the director pasolini is obviously not interested, the bias is very few. Greek mythology is not important, song is not important, women who go to extremes for love are not important, nor is the hatred of Media.
But what matters is that Media is the tribal witch, the heir of the sun god, who grew up in a spiritual, brutish land -- this identity. Her power was unknown, primordial, and had a secret, deep connection with the earth and the sun, which civilized men could not comprehend.
The clash of two civilizations. Primitive people who tried to make contact with the earth no longer feared god, but believed more in man. This emphasis is entirely distinct from the greatest of all dramatic texts, whether oedipides or Cornelia.
In the film, the growth of everything, the relationship with the body, the relationship between ancient rituals and religions, the relationship between motherhood and the earth. It merged into the primitive religious concept of "all things are gods". In a scene like Matthew, the expressionless man, the slow movement, the sacredness is revealed in the extreme silence. Finally back to a deep life experience.
So he goes to Turkey and Syria to get a mirror and pull the scene back to the wild world of the Caucasus where the story takes place. The opening sequence of a murderous ritual, such as a documentary on fieldwork anthropology -- a thrilling, raw ritual of terror, numbness, unknown and ecstasy -- opens with Media, a priest who kills the living, cuts them into pieces and lets them be fought over by a crowd.

Achilles in film Tory
In the film, Achilles is brave and good at fighting but rebellious. He is the most outstanding warrior under Agamemnon and the warrior Agamemnon hates most. He would not listen to Agamemnon's orders, for he did not like a king to wage war for his own good. He didn't even want to fight for the name of the Greeks because he knew it was just an excuse and he knew that "Greece was strong enough before I was born." But there was one reason he couldn't resist. This reason is that he would be remembered by posterity.
The most impressive scene in the play takes place on the night after Achilles killed Hector, the Trojan prince. When the king of Troy comes to return his beloved son, Achilles kneels in front of Hector's body and says to him, "we will meet soon, brother." At that moment, Achilles had thoroughly understood the meaning of his own survival and understood his destiny. He learned that there was a price to be paid for everything, and that after he had killed so many brothers, husbands, and relatives without mercy for his own glory alone, he had become the same kind of man as Agamemnon, whom he despised.

Hector in film Troy
After watching this film, many people may be sad and angry about the death of Achilles, but Hector's death is more tragic. Even though he know he and his country cannot make it,, For the stability of the country, for the dignity of his people, for all the responsibility he has as the prince of troy, he choose to fight until his last breath.
Hector is a kind man, brave and resourceful. He loves his wife and children, protects his brothers and guards the country. He was the husband of his wife, the father of his son, the brother of his brother, the son of his father, and the defender of his country, the strongest wall in the hearts of his people. He is neither a half-man half-god like Achilles, nor a king of a country like Agamemnon, who has with a strong army, a vast territory; He was just a very ordinary man, with feelings, weaknesses, and flesh and blood. As a great prince, he had no privilege other than greater responsibilities; but he had no complaints or regrets.
When I think of his death, it's a pain in my heart. Hector could refuse to go out and fight with Achilles, but he's Hector, and he never lives for himself, and he has to fight for his country's dignity.
If he had lived in peace, he would have been a good king, leading his people to live happily and securely. But he died, and his city and his country were fallen sooner.

why fight in troy
The Iliad told a story about Trojan War, many heroes has fight in this war. Though this book, Homer has told a great story about heroes, honor, fate, and sorrow of war. Even though The Iliad has many charters, but all of them have their very own reason to fight in this war.
For Achilles, the greatest and most powerful hero in Greek side, he is clearly fought for honor. Even he has been told that he could live long if he did not fight in Tory, Achilles choice to fight as a hero.

Achilles
Like many heroes in Greek, Achilles is half man and half god. In all these stories, Achilles himself is described as a man, he has his own personality, and all different aspect of him combine together makes him such a great hero.
In earlier Theology, especially in Theogony from Hesiod, god is simple and has a special personality, like Zeus is power, Gaia is earth. They were more like a symbol than a living being. But under homer’s hand, heroes is written like a living being, and this is what makes Achilles looks like a real person.
Achilles has both good and bad side; he was a man of valor, war, and friendship. First of all, he won almost every battle on the battlefield and killed numerous Trojan heroes. The contrast between the different reactions of the Trojans in the Greek coalition without him and the Greek coalition with him in the war shows that he was brave and good at fighting. In addition, he join the war for revenge his friend, even what he has done to Hector’s body shows he is a cruel person, he is doing all these for his friend. By the end, when he sees Priams come to him, he was think about his feather and cry. These prove that he is a person with strong emotion.
On the other hand, what Achilles has done isn’t all right, when he decided to not fight, Greek army is dying. After he kills Hector, he hang Hector’s body and run around Trojans city. At his last fight, he ignore Apollo’s warning and eventually get kill in the battlefield.

Achilles,Oedipus and Fate
When I am reach on Achilles, there is one thing in his life that really interesting me. He was told that he will die young as a hero in Trojan War. This remained me about another hero Oedipus. They both know their fate but different respond they choose give them different ends
Achilles did knows that he will die in Trojan War, and in the beginning, he did try to hide himself and not go to Trojan War. He was rise up as a girl and did not respond when he get ask to join the war. Even he went to Trojan War, he did not enter the war at the first time. But after Patroclus’ death. He told his mother Thetis that he will join the war even though he will die in the war, and after he join, he become the hero in the war.
Oedipus on the other hand, choice to run away from his fate. He sure is a smart person. He figure out the question asked from sphinx, and he rules Thebes. But instead to face his fate, he runs away from his stepfather and finally make all the tragedy happens. He if he face it and talk to his stepfather, those tragedy might not hppens.

the flood in different myth
Though the study in mythology yesterday, I realize that “ the flood:” have appeared in many myth from different civilizations. After a reach, it is surprise to me that these civilizations include Greek, Babylonia, Rome, Indian and even as far as China. I think that there might be a real fold happen.
In Greek and Rome myth, king of god (Zeus for Greek and Jupiter for Rome) decided to destroy mankind. So he asks other gods to help him created a huge flood and wipe out all the lives on earth. But there is prophetic that saved last man and woman and they recreated a new mankind that is better.
In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the god of water Enki uses a big flood to destroy the world. But in here, people runs up to the mountain but only Utnapishtim, who was warned by Enki survived on a boat.
In the bible, God use a flood to destroy the world, and only Noah and his family could survive on a ark.
In China, there is a big flood in xia dynasty. But different than myth in near east or in Greek, this flood is not recorded as end of the world, it is a natural disaster.
Up to this point, it is pretty clear that there might be a real flood appear in around 2000 bc and it happen most in middle east and Europe. But it was so huge that as far as China is affected by this flood.
